I mean, I don't know which countries it's been released in outside of Japan. |

this movie was absolutely amazing, maybe not as a standalone, but it was an amazing prequel to season 3 and helped me understand things i did not in that season. i really loved seeing the old cast again and i could really see how far characters like Gino, Kogami and Akane have come since season 1. overall one of the most satisfying experiences i have had recently. |

Saw this in cinemas today. Yeah it definitely answered a lot of questions that I have when I watched season 3, it even somehow changed how I see season 3 now. Good to see Akane, Gino and Kogami working together. That ending hit hard, we know that Akane was imprisoned but I wasn't expecting she'll do that. And her hue didn't even changed that much to the point that it's still below limit after that incident. We saw in the later part of season 3 that Akane was released, maybe we will get a movie or some sort why or how she was released, Kogami said at the end of the film that he will will do everything to get her out. Maybe her release was connected to that. It was a good movie overall. It's not as great as season 1 but definitely up there along with the Sinners of the System for me. |

Just watched it in theaters, honestly couldn't get myself to care at all about the main plot of the movie, most of it dragged on and the concepts felt relatively weak compared to the philosophical discussions in earlier seasons. However I absolutely loved the way it tied into season 3 and the ending of the movie where Akane kills the director on a public broadcast while showcasing to everyone that sybil system cannot make absolutely perfect judgements and that the legal system has a place. It's truly an Akane moment, standing up for her convictions, and overall elevated the movie to an 8 for me. Production quality was great all around except the odd CGI flames, soundtrack reused a lot of music but used it in a competent manner so I am fine with it. |

Man I sure wish this movie came out in 2019 before season 3 was released. The way season 3 is written, you were expected to know all the things that happened in this movie before going into it. That scene when Kougami, Gino, and Frederica got the Dominators back online was beyond hype in the final fight. Being painless undead cyborgs can't stop Destroy Decomposer. Too bad Kougami only got to shoot two shots before his Dominator was wrecked. |

The background looked very weird with the 3D/real life models. Plotholes seems like it's all over the place. The production quality was below the movie quality standards, and the choreography looked a bit janky. 4/10. |

this movie KNOCKED ME DOWN!!!! it's been a long time since i watched season 1, 2, and the first movie, so i was a little foggy on the details. but even with just the general overview of the series in my memory, i was able to make sense of what was going on. and man did it fuck me up!!!! skimming through the previous comments, it looks like this isn't a continuation or stand alone story and actually leads into season 3 (which i have not seen); i'm really looking forward to going through the whole series again :D i remember seeing announcements for OVAs and a third season, but i couldn't find a place to watch them. it looks like they're available streaming now. i thought this movie was a continuation of the series; the topics that arose had an intense relevance in the current day and it had me super excited and hopeful for another movie or season. but if the aftermath has already played out, i'll save the shock and awe for the season 3 forum :) seeing it a theater was super fun! hearing people gasp at the ending was so cool! i gasped too hahaha XD i forgot how violent this story gets! watching anime on giant screen with other people really is the way to go :D |

Damn, the transition to Season 3, in the end, there was quite something! Akane didn't hold back and definitely put pressure on the Sibyl system with that unexpected move there. Kougami-san's resolve to get to the truth was very cool too. Audiovisual experience was on point as well, just as what you'd expect from the series. Especially liked some of the ost that were playing right on the eve of the fights. Ginoza-san and Frederica-san sure make a good team but nothing beats the duo of Ginoza-san and Kougami-san, lol. My Japanese level isn't the best so there was honestly a lot that went over my head. I didn't even fully understand the series with English subtitles, what chance did I've here, xD? I was seeing the movie being advertised as the last movie of the series here, I wonder what next they're planning. Another villain with issues relating to the Sibyl system, but didn't manage to leave as much of an impression as Makishima-san. Okay, that probably sounds a little harsh, but it really does feel like the series delves into the justice aspect rather monotonously. Maybe I'll have to rewatch the series in chronological order, or at least this movie, before the next instalment to gain a better appreciation for the theme. Fantastic to see TK from Ling Tosite Sigure and EGOIST still around for the opening and ending tracks, hope they stick around to the very end. |

Had the normal Psycho Pass philosophy, gun fight, and combat flight. Was great. See Sugou piloting a drone once more, which was nice. Akane just raised the Japan whole crime coefficient, well at least for those who watch political ceremonies. |

A socialist extremist with a utopian idea of a better future protected by democracy but with the power of a dictator! The same as in Spain but without AI and Dominators! 2 Points 1... Akane and Shinya meeting! 2... the last 2 minutes The other of the film was boring, very boring and the and the succession of events could have been recounted in 40 minutes! Action, tears and mistery, but Everything was unnecessary, just a terrible and slow extension! Animation poor! Music horrible! Yes, very horrible! 4/10 kekeke |

I couldn't watch before because it wasn't available in my country yet, so thanks CC. I have been listening the OP and ED for a long time already and listen in the movie was great. Aside from the whatever villain and Sibyl done another update in the end... I was surprised how action heavy the movie was and good hand / hand combat. Also i loved how far Akane came as a character, she is tired of Sibyl shit, they are definitely teasing for a big finally here. Talking about the end, that last scene with the letter and Akane shooting the director was incredible well done. Other highlights: - A lot of Kougami x Akane tease moments - Sugou is a very underrated character in the series and i liked he got some good screen time - Ginoza with long hair made me feel things 😳 - All the connections to S3 - OST for me was on point with a lot of good use of the old ost of the series. I really hope they bring an end for the series soon. |

did i enjoy the movie ? yes i did, i really love dystopian setting and theres really nothing much aside from gits and this. did it answer the question you have on s3 ? yeah sure, but the only thing people cared the most is prob just how did akane got herself imprisoned. the rest of the stuff like arata's father, with or without the movie prob would have been fine regardless. in the end it was just another extension of sibyl and some rogue group i dont think it was bad, but i can't help but think that i expected something else. also every season they just came up with ways to fool the dominator, sibyl do something about it... |

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. cool ? I guess ? I don't know, i didn't really feel anything at all watching this. I got some nostalgia after the first 10 minutes with the soundtrack blasting and the TK opening but this didn't really do anything for me in particular. Once again it's one of those situations where they bundle 4-5 regular TV episodes together and sell them as a 'movie' even though the animation/storyboarding/direction are nowhere near movie standards. I guess adding some context to S3 is appreciated by this came a little too late and at this point, it just feels like it's Production I.G's way to make some money off the back of a franchise that frankly, has run its course a long time ago. 6/10 |

Interesting movie, but aside from some characters and an explanation as to why Akane is imprisoned, I don't see much of a link with S3. Tbf, I dropped S3 as it was boring and felt like a completely different show with the clairvoyance stuff. Does S3 actually pick up the pace at some point and continue on with what was laid out here and in previous seasons? If so, I might give it a chance again. |

I really liked this movie, it's probably my favorite entry of this franchise after Season 1, right there with Sinners of the System Case 2. The plot of the movie was much more clear for me than that of Season 3 and First Inspector (I never fully grasped the whole Bifrost deal, only the basics). Instead, the General AI being basically a Sibyl System but for quantifying the probability of conflict in an area/group of people was a cool concept. Specially seeing how that could be used by Sibyl (now that they incorporated it into them) to avoid conflicts, but also to purposefully initiate conflicts. And then profit by selling weapons to both sides of said conflict (something that was brought up at the start of the movie). Also the whole aspect of eliminating the laws and letting Sibyl's judgement dictate what's best is interesting. At first I was opposed to the idea, even found it a bit ridiculously exaggerated. But when Tonami explained his reasons at the end, it kinda made sense to me. Humanity has been on a never-ending state of conflict since our dawn. Large scale conflics between countries or large communities, turning into wars. Smaller scale conflicts between people from different groups. Conflicts for religious beliefs. And our society is indeed evolving into one where the breach between the very rich and very poor is getting bigger every day. That economic inequality was mentioned in the movie, and it's a big part of what starts conflicts as well. People feel less inclined to violence and agression if their needs are met. So, the idea that AI should rule human society and we as humans should just focus on following Sibyl's lead and enjoy the happiness it brings to our life, without bothering to decide about what's right or not makes sense. Remember in S1 they showed that Sibyl decides what are the jobs that you would do best according to your skills and people choose from one of those. They even give potential romantic partners that Sibyl deemed would be a good match. Now, this intrusion in people's private lifes is definitely questionable, but if the result is that most people are happy with their lifes... then what's so bad about it? Also, humanity has done a pretty bad job at making decisions for ourself throughout history. So an AI running things wouldn't even need to be that good to be better. But, of course, Akane disagrees saying that if people don't decide for themselves what's right or wrong according to our own values and morals (the law), then our life loses some of it's worth. We lose something important: the power to debate amongst ourselves and come to a conclusion on how things should be in our society. I can totally understand her point as well. So to me, what Akane does at the end by shooting Kasei in public makes for a great ending. It's her "Kogami killing Makishima" moment. The moment she goes against the very thing she's trying to protect (the law), to save it from destruction. Since she didn't shoot Kasei's head, she just destroyed a body. She didn't actually kill anyone. So of course her crime coefficient didn't raise at all. Which served to demonstrate to the public that Sibyl isn't perfect since it couldn't properly judge someone that had just commited murder. The people never knew about Makishima, it wasn't made public. So this is their first time witnessing Sibyl being completely and objectively wrong. She succedeed in protecting the law for now, at the cost of her own freedom. I feel the movie was an 8 before the ending, but the ending was so good for me, I'll give it a 9/10. |

Honestly really enjoyed this movie and imo the best thing since season 1 with all the group back (Kagari and Masaoka RIP). The main plot was decent with Kei's brother and Arata's father finally shown and how their fate came to fruition. I will admit there are a few things I'm a bit confused about such as why Atsushi had to go out like that or why Akane killed the chief but then found out that its to show that even though she did that, her crime coefficient still didn't go high enough to be called a latent criminal showing everyone (who at least watched the ceremony) how flawed the sibyl system is. Overall, I don't regret watching this at all as I have been a big fan of Psycho Pass since watching the masterpiece season 1 was and the whole concept of having an AI being the basis of legal system piqued my interest. 8.5/10 |

Can someone tell me if my understanding is correct. The peacebreakers wants the Stronskaya papers to be delivered to Sibyl, but Atsushi Shindo does not want that to happen, as that will tilt the balance more to the side of eradicating human intervention. Sibyl has no idea what Atsushi is doing. In the end, Atsushi still had to surrender the papers because of Yabuki's death. After Sibyl analyzed the papers, it concluded that a partnership with peacebreakers aka The General is the best outcome. The climax fight was supposed to be unnecessary, but Akane had different plans. Sibyl expects Akane to just hand over the papers conflict-free, Mika had to ask Sibyl to help her when things had gone awry. What I don't understand was: What was Akane's plan? In the end she just handed the papers to The General. What's the other outcome she was hoping for? |

I have been waiting for the movie to come out but than when it did i waited some more to get over my hype and excitement for it ... calemd myself down and i honestly loved it , it connected well with the third season.. too bad we didnt to get to see the decent action scenes like usual i mean when it comes to fights i somehow wasnt into it but aside from that. akane dev was peak and the entire ideology of sibyl is great.. kogami saying that he'd do anything to get out reminded me of the movie of sinners of the system when he said okairi xD it got the same vibe ... high expectations for whats next now ** |

This series is so washed. Providence feels like the last gasp for the OG cast and themes rather than First Inspector's "hail mary" into supernatural cyber-detectives. It kinda fumbles trying to set-up the start of Season 3 like with setting up Shindo's dad but a major issue is that there's a big emotional disconnect with the movie not dwelling on in-universe reunions since stuff like Akane and Kougami "have to wait" for their emotional reunion in S3 when the audience ALSO reunites alongside. But "saving the best for next season" is just one issue, the real tragedy is how formulaic it's made the Procedural-Conspiracy > Ideological conflict story but at it's most phoned in (give-or-take S2 just being a bad repeat), you BARELY get much said on the antagonist General/God AI being used to over-write soldier's consciousness/conscience to slip through Sibyl's eye (again, like the 4th time geez) And at this point, if it wasn't made obvious to the audience after 3 seasons and 5(?) movies, that Sybll really can't keep up the facade of authority but every new entry kinda demands it like a status quo. It's frustratingly on-point how it ends, and how supposedly final and explicit loud a statement Akane's choice is thematically challenging the Sibyl in full public view. But ironically it also proves ineffectual and pointless, cuz y'know, this is a prequel into S3. And it's ironically poetic for series I guess, that it almost screams constantly to actively question and confront a broken authoritarian system, but for there to be MORE Psycho-Pass as a series, the system never really breaks, so every sequel almost disproves it's main thesis by saying "Hah, Sibyl still stands after 10 years of high-profile societal catastrophes, guess Japan is full of sheep after all", even attempts from S3 don't give me hope |

It feels like they wanted to try something new with season 3 - with new chars and more focus on the new inspectors and Mika. But then they noticed that people still like Akane ... trying to create the movie to bridge the gap between previous season (and Sinners of the System) and season 3. With an option to later bring back Akane. (Which already got reased at the end of the First Inspector movie.) It would be weird if there was not another season or movie set after the First Inspector movie. Question is just: When? (Might be a lot of years in the future lol.) Season 1 was great and worked with an open end - to philosophize about possible futures. And Makishima was a great antagonist. But I had wished for the system to end - and possible futures in that direction. With the other seasons they hinted more and more flaws. (Another one with the end of this movie here. Akanes crime coefficient still being low.) A sequel should be the final thing - and a full season (2-cour or again a lot of 45 min episodes at least 8.) Ending the Sybil system. Though some prequel stuff (on how the system got actually built) ... would be interesting as well. |

I'm very tired of the story that just keeps digging into the whole "we need both", despite how the Sybil system has been proven to be flawed because of its evolving nature as well as hackable and easily defeatable via conventional arms and comm disruption tactics. Akane doing a swap with Kogami is typical sitcom role switch bait and not really interesting. There is no true organic change in their relationship like having sex or being pregnant or literally anything more than grumpy respectful looks. I'm glad the old hag inspector chief got her comeuppance but it feels like Psycho-Pass is a cow that's easily milked by vague word-salad that sounds important but is as sterile and pointless as the - ironically - jaded antagonist viewed it to be, despite his take being to lean into it hard. Sybil system is just people. AI gods don't go "aha, very interesting Akane-san, let's watch together what our puppet-society is doing", they would compute everything and know without doing. Not necessarily future gazing since that would give credence to Akane's "humans are meaningless if fully predicted" nonsense but to the available compute potential of our race - which is a far cry from an omniscient bot. At the end of the day you don't need all powerful sorcery to prevent human inequality, just basic rules and accountability. Psycho-Pass's world wants to eschew such clear reasoning in favor of the enigma of a black box; an asylum run by lunatics. |

The story is interesting, because it has almost all the main characters of any of the other movies or seasons and the movie is important for the future of the complete story of Psycho-Pass. Visually is incredibly good. |

I realized Sybil sounds similar to civil. so civil system. it's rare to see Akane actually breaking down. I did not expect her to shoot Kasei at all. I honestly like seeing Akane finally in a bad spot. I didn't like Kougami saying he's gonna get her out of there. Kougami also killed people but he's free. I wonder if there was a brain inside Kasei which would mean Akane actually killed someone. |
