A battle against a green dragon...how fiting for a finale. There was no buildup towards this fight so I wasn't invested into it. And the most predictable outcome happend with Earth claiming the victory.

This was just another generic episode of RPG elements and seems like the story had no direction in the end. Oh wel, I didn't expect much anyway.

The Fairy Queen is fed up and she's gone ahead and put a hefty bounty on Earth.

Emel, the Elder of the Green Dragons, pays a visit to Earth with the intention of having him prepare a meal. Earth, wanting to avoid any involvement with the Dragons, decides to flee. In response, the Fairy Queen issues an arrest warrant for Earth. Displeased with the Queen's tactics and the Dragons' haughty attitude, Earth defiantly breaches the castle walls and confronts Emel, the Green Dragon Elder, in a daring battle.

Wow, talk about an overreaction and being a jerk to the Fairy Queen. Earth, despite being this supposed old man, is acting so damn childish. But hey, those NPCs are getting way too full of themselves. I kinda like that Earth is one of the few who's willing to stand up for themselves. Gotta say, for the standards of this anime, that animation in the dragon vs. Earth fight was surprisingly good. Sure, his reaction and pushing her away sucked, but it sort of makes sense with his whole wanting-to-be-left-alone logic. He's just that type of guy, you know? It might not be likable, but it's part of his character. He's been irritated by the ring and its consequences from the get-go, so why not take the chance to finally distance himself from it?

As for VR/Video Game anime this season, I'd say save yourself the trouble and skip this one. Go watch Shangri-La Frontier or something instead.

Earth logging into the game...and getting hugged by the Fairy Queen to throw a whip on her, only to get chased by both the green dragon elder Emer and the Fairy Queen. But going as far as to put him on the warrant list to force him to cook for them, he literately had enough of her antics, forcing her to take off the ring. As is with Emer, a duel is the only appropriate way to handle such dignity that's otherwise backed by arrogance. And as strong powers from each emanate the strength of their abilities, Earth is forced to sacrifice his strong bow to ensure powerful attacks at the sacrifice of his own life, even with the Fairy Queen's powers through the ring given to him.

Even the game's developers were surprised by this as Earth willingly sacrificed his life, to which he then gets revived by one of the dragons, commending him for taking down the green dragon elder, which has been the bane of the dragons' problems passed onto the Fairy Queen with threats. To that extent, the red dragon offering Earth massive rewards for both his cuisine and taking the problem dragon down, it's worth it for all this trouble. Pikasha transporting Earth back to the Fairy Kingdom, to then the latter facing the Queen who caught his wrath trying to understand the entire situation, which he wants the ring to be sealed so as not to be seen as someone given the special treatment.

With that, Earth's duty in the Fairy Kingdom is done, and he can finally go on his own silent, uninterrupted adventure.

Truth be told, this show sucks on all levels, of which boredom is the least of its problems.

A harmless low-stake anime. Not sure if there will be a season 2 even if it's heavily hinted after credit scene, but if it has then I'll watch it.

The ending was not very satisfying. Made me angry. MC decides to pull a 180 and ruins the gift he was given by the fairy queen. I'm glad he defeated the green dragon that was blackmailing the queen though. That makes the ending a bit more bearable.

I have a feeling there will be a season 2 from the little tidbit shown at the end of the episode, so lets hope the show redeems itself come season 2.

So glad this shit is over, might be the worst fantasy/gaming anime I have ever watched. Comfortably one of the worst final episodes as well. Earth was a pathetic clown MC like no other, good lord, it was tiresome to watch his daily antics in the game. To think he was supposed to be some middle aged dude lol, made it even worse. It was either incredibly boring melodrama or incredible boring gameplay. 2/10.

I feel like this EP altough not the greatest ending of all time is getting some hate it dosent deserve, this is a video game for the dude, he has been trying to play it his way and keeps getting interrupted back to back and when he finally logs back in after what we assume is a days work he can't even play the game since there is a kingdom wild bounty on him for no reason. Its normal one would get angry and start ranting, maybe a bit to agro but our MC just wants to chill after a day working and explore this VR world and everytime he tries something falls on his head be it a dragon or the 1000th player asking for food or potions.

Also quick edit saw some feedback that people are a bit mad he is not loving the waifu queen, again its a video game dude is 38, he is not falling in love with an NPC that easy, altough I would have loved if the author placed some more tought in explaining how our MC actually feels about this highly responsive and human NPCS.

Even if she was forced to do the warrant thing, I’m kinda glad he got out of there. He shouldn’t have to deal with anything like this but because he won a single tournament and changed the way the ai feels the devs force other scenarios on him like he doesn’t deserve to play the way he wants to.

No way are people hating Earth over this💀 it’s actually insane. He literally apologized and said himself that he acted like a child but he still put up boundaries that he’s been wanting for a long time, which is a good thing. He didn’t even say that he would never see her again.

I love that he won the fight, and he reacted the right why to the warrants. The red dragon should have dealt with the situation sooner. The ending left me feeling sad for the queen. I'd read the manga a knew it was coming but.. I'm unhappy it ended that why.

But holy hell Earths damn shoes looks absolutely ridiculous. I cringed every time I saw them.
Quite a mediocre series. Something to watch at least when you're bored.

As far as stock main characters go, Earth has to have the most punchable face I've seen in anime for quite some time. I think it might be the ridiculous hair and the annoying VA work from Ishikawa playing a huge part as well. His unlikeable personality is just the tip of the iceberg.

I can't get mad at the show, the show itself said that this wasn't going to be a grand adventure or about someone interesting so it warned us but it was still meh, I kept wishing the show was about an actual fantasy world instead of it just being a game, it kills any stakes and not just that but Earth wasn't just a what ever dude he was instead annoying, ungrateful and unlikable, it really should have been about Zwei, Milly, Fairy Queen, Ryuu-chan and their adventures.

That letter at the end better not be a S2 tease, there are so many better or heck even worse shows that deserve a second season more than of this forgettable show.

I understand Earth's will to not get involved, but I think he was cruel to Fairy Queen, he wouldn't even defeat Dragon without her powers. Also the way she shows her affection is hilarious (in a positive way) and sweet.
Btw, those bounty posters were hilarious.
7/10 I would give 8 but the last episode ruined it.

I too found this episode unsatisfying. For Earth, I suppose it is fine. He gets what he wanted, to be left alone. I guess I can't wrap my head around that though because to me, the whole point of playing a game is escapism. I don't want to be left alone, I'd be bored without cool sh** happening. Just wandering about exploring the world on your own is fine and all, but the interesting unexpected bits are what make it fun. Sunraku is more the type of gamer I'd be, living for those unique scenarios :)

I also cannot fathom being irritated by a hottie like Queen being all over me. He's so mean to her, yet she's devoted to him. When he said he wants her to do something, here I thought (stupidly I guess knowing Earth) that he was gonna be nice and do something for her like ask to take her to dinner or ask for a hug or something that would make her happy. A way of apologizing for being a dick earlier before he understood the situation. Sealing the ring is idiotic. Why take away potential advantages? Regardless of the state of the ring, she can still come to him of her own accord (though not as easily/quickly) so it's not like he is preventing her clinging to him. It just means he doesn't have the handy ability to summon her, and whatever else it was doing for him. Though I'm sure given his taking it this far that she'll lay off him. What a loss... dumbass.

As a person who enjoys MMOs, I just can't understand his weird play style lol

It is an ok anime in a perspective of an anime fan, but for someone who's both a gamer and an anime fan. I would say its ok as well, i feel like watching an anime version of Let's play from youtube (with the game devs scene being added). yes there's alot of flaws especially the mechanics of the vrmmo. alot of things were also presented like how the devs wanting to nerf something but still has a consequence to those nerfs being placed on.

Between this and the youtube let's play, i would watch this when i'm bored.

Very good ending episode of a very good series!

As a RPG gamer myself, the series gave me plenty of fun. There are and there will be better series, but the fun itself is the path and the end.

As an IT professional myself, the Fairy Queen and Ryuu are quirky NPC AI characters and their individual development and relationships with Earth raise a concern.

I wish a second season of the series because I wish to watch how far the relationship between Earth and the Fairy Queen will go.

Well this was a surprising final episode, I didn’t think I’d ever see Earth get truly mad but he did and it was kinda awesome, he even went as far as demanding the Fairy Queen remove the ring lol, that’s savage. And the best part, he even kept his word and kicked that dragon’s ass, although he got his own ass kicked in the process he absolutely followed up on his threat, it was a good fight too for this show’s standards. And in the end, turns out Earth was actually doing a good thing by killing that dragon who was apparently threatening the Fairy Queen, got lucky I guess lol. And lastly, it was nice seeing him apologize to the Fairy Queen and finally tell her how he feels about the attention he’s getting, I know everyone loves her and probably didn’t like how she got treated, but personally I liked seeing Earth finally put his foot down, the lad just wants it chill lol, I get it.

And that was the end, and wow it looks like a lot of folks did not like this show or the ending from both Crunchyroll and MAL lol, but I’m here to say that I completely disagree, I really liked this final episode and I personally liked this show quite a bit. Yeah it wasn’t anything that special, art and animation weren’t amazing by any means, but idk man, I personally found this to be a great show to chill to after a rough Monday, much like how Earth uses the game for a similar reason. My only real complaint is that I wish we could have seen Earth doing his own thing more, but of course the plot was focused on him getting attention he didn’t want which pretty much caused that to be something we didn’t get quite as often as I would have liked lol.

And of course I want to mention everyone’s favorite girl of the show, the Fairy Queen, she really was a lot of fun despite her treatment in the final episode, but really she was the embodiment of the attention Earth didn’t want, so the ending made sense imo, but still she was a great part of the show. And lastly, both the OP and ED were good ones, but the ED was personally one of my favorites of the season, just such a cute and fun song, really love it. And I’m not exactly sure, but could that bit with Pikasha at the end be a hint at a Season 2? I personally would like to see that, I’ll be one of the few to say lol.

I liked the series. It didn't try to pad the episodes with long winded battles or a harem. The art could have been better, but at least it didn't try to look like all the generic looking anime. If there's a second season, it'll probably be the fairy queen's "sister" that takes more screen time while he continues his journey.

@AkeZZZ I fully agree with this, what was a tediously boring watch already became sour by the end when this already crude acting loner guy had stayed the same until the end, I'm confused on why bro was asking and wanting a fairy if he was just going to be alone 24/7 anyways. This anime was decent around the beginning but it fell off the further we went, and a majority of characters we were introduced would hardly be seen or used again. His drip became a bit better besides those ugly shoes at the end at least, but I'm skipping a season 2.

A soulless anime with no worthy story line at all.

Frankly the way Earth has always treated the Fairy Queen throughout the series has always annoyed me, not even a brat would behave like this for 12 episodes, I don't understand the reason why he wants to seal the ring, given the fact that thanks to that ring he managed to get out of difficult situations multiple times and it could always be useful to him and with it he could stay in contact with the Fairy Queen, it just seems like he really can't stand her... the behaviour of a grumpy, sclerotic, exhausted middle-aged man who perhaps should change game and play something else lol... XD

I’m glad this trash anime is over. The story was idiotic. It’s like they were going the comedic route of having him constantly dragged into situations he didn’t want to be in but then they just turned him into a raging ahole instead. Aren’t all these experiences he’s having just part of the game? If I play a game and it’s not what I want then I pick a new game, I don’t get mad at the game and spend ridiculous amounts of time yelling at NPC’s. You have to remember that he thinks the fairy queen is just a regular NPC, he doesn’t know she’s AI. So what kind of gamer passes up unique scenarios and rewards because he doesn’t want to stand out? I’m thinking Farmville is more his speed.

1st finished anime of the season and first disappointment... great

the anime was decent for the most part, but the way he treated the Queen (arguably the best part of the anime) was really shitty, even if for him she is just an npc in a game, in her world, she is her own person

and i don't know... this episode was the worst of them all tbh... lol

i'll rate this a 6 ... actually nvm, it's a 5 ... and i think i'm being generous... i've probably rated better stuff with 4 or less...
if it gets a season 2... i might watch but without much expectations
(mostly for Queen and Ryuu, who might not even appear lmfao)

i can empathize with Earth's annoyance when he woke up and found wanted posters of himself plastered all over, and him snapping at Queen without so much as hearing her out first was also expected coz she has pushed his buttons way too damn much for him to be nice to her and let this "prank" go away. that green dragon elder got what he deserved; but i would've wanted to see the red dragon king rip him to pieces though, but Earth finished him off before dragon king can even rip elder green dragon's throat off lol And what was that paper Pikasha was carrying? I'm sure it's for Earth, does that mean there's a possible second season? hehe

Watched till the end, gotta say that it becomes a point of "if you do the samething, get the same results" gets 200% validation when it only needed well 100%. It's kinda a hard for me to break it down into a pros and cons column when I feel the time is spent better elsewhere.

TL;DR if you made it here, yea I am just as confused as you are with an over seasoned "how did we get here" feeling as much as you.
