Gina bouncing between her serious and childish personality is comedy gold material.

The fight this episode imo was exciting though, a mixture of small talk, bloody chereography, and attitude. Gina herself also proved to be a worthy fighter. I think this episode also had one of the longer battles this season so far. A very good momentum imo.

No, it’s an anime logic Fuuko, no point in arguing over the fact as to why Gina looks 16 even though she’s might as well over 66 at this point. Though the secret behind her ability is the prime reason here, with jokes aside.

Now, as one might have expected, she captured Andy all those years ago, and she kind of loves him too, so that’d make Fukko her love rival… according to her own words. Goes without saying she didn’t waste any moment, and started throwing every sort of attack over Andy and Fuuko left and right, but.. but I liked how freak Andy is with his counterattacks lol.

Man literally made a blood shower just so he could discover the secret behind Gina’s abilities, and that being her power of changing the state of anything she comes in contact with… UNCHANGE. Rest we know, feel the boobs or heck even quite literally get a taste, and the unluck meter would do its thing. And must say, with the presence of a UFO around the corner, the fight got the most poetic conclusion.

Andy blasted Gina inside her own barrier, and that was it. Now Fuuko might look like a deadweight, but this duo together is kinda broken. Another eccentrically epic fight saw its end.

Though, you’ve to feel for Gina:(

I heard many things about this show, and Andy being naked frequently was definitely one a heard a lot. Jeez how many times is he going to be naked Lol.

The girl painting with Kazuko at Lake Baikal was Gina, a Union denier. Andy tells Fuuko that she was the one who captured him fifty years ago. As Gina launches invisible attacks, Andy waits for a chance to counter and expose her abilities. Amidst the overwhelming assault, Fuuko wonders about Andy's friends, but he informs her they have all passed away, though he made reservations at a different restaurant. Andy expresses his determination to discover what Gina nullifies, speculating that it might involve hardening. However, he acknowledges that this wouldn't account for the invisible walls and stairs.

Nakedness aside, Andy is really creative when it comes to utilizing his own and speculating about others' un-abilities. It's clear he's making effective use of his undead nature. Throughout, Gina talks about how she doesn't like change, and the fact that her appearance remained constant made it rather evident, in my opinion. It's amusing that he took a laser shot to the dick without even flinching. These battles are truly interesting. I half-expected him to try blinding Gina with his blood at some point, but I didn't realize she needed something to stand on, creating a gap beneath her feet. It was very clever to slide the blade into that gap and lift the barrier, allowing Undead to get his head in there.

Throughout half the fight, big boobs were being pressing against his back... jealous.

I cried at the end and then the beautiful ED pops up jeez I was totally not expecting to , wow that ending I love the way Andy talks sometimes " a few wrinkles ain't gonna change how beautiful you are " my God did I bawl what a wonderful episode gonna miss Gena quite a lot, I know this is a shaming to ask as a almost 10yr anime watcher but would Gena be classified as a Tsundere idk all about Dere types but isn't a Tsundere when a character acts sweet but also crazy towards the love interest or just in general

What was the Unluck? I hope it will be explained later.
Either way, this was an absolutely epic episode with beautiful animation and art + some funny moments. Loved it. And I really liked Gena.

Also please don't go to the Undead Unluck wiki unless you're up-to-date with the manga, I spoiled myself big time as an anime-only.

Gena's dynamic with both Izumi and Andy was surprisingly sweet :,)

Gina was truly unchanged in that department, if you know what I mean. The action was cool again, Andy has the strangest yet cool way of using his ability. It looks painful though. I was hoping that maybe somehow Gina would also survive but alas. She was here for a short while but she was a fun and interesting character. Her final moments with the kiss was emotional.

Gina was like a romantic rival for Fuko. But she died just an episode after her debut. Ouch.

Man, her death was emotional. She was such a great character. It's a shame that she died so early. I wish she stuck around as a recurring character. :(

With 2 negators dead, Andy and Fuko can now join the organization. I guess the real story will begin from there.

Also, why didn't Andy join the organization himself first when he first got caught by Gina?

Damn, what an episode! Comedy, action, and lewd moments—it had it all in fine fashion, xD. Got to feel for Gina here but I'm glad Andy gave her a little something to take off with. I'm curious who the lady in the ED is though. I don't imagine she'll be happy to know what Andy's up to with Fuuko-chan, at least lmao.

Might be the first time I'm writing in the post-discussion forum of this show and I just wanted to say that, much like the episodes so far, the show's been an absolute blast! Two of the best theme songs, Op and ED respectively, in recent times too. A bit more time and I'll know where it really lies on the general perspective. David Production's giving us some really nice treat here, yo ~

I hope this show gets better at writing "the tragic character" cause jeeze does this struggle to make me relate/care/empathize to anyone let alone the slow death of Unchange. We barely knew ye. No literally we barely knew ye.

If there was an attempt to build a character designed to make us cry over her when she dies well then it was not constructed with ANY foundation. She's just kind of dumb and a stalker psycho. Like any other show would rightly use this as an opportunity to take the piss at her personality and motivation, which border from illogical to idiotic.

And sometimes it does try to do that? At the start at least...

She seemed like any typical early-era shonen villain that's pretty one-dimensional but persists either through becoming the usual recurring comedic villain that serves some constant annoyance for our heroes or slowly becomes good (good-er) through learning how wrong and laughable their motives were. Am I crazy or was she not intentionally coded as being 1 of those 2 archetypes? The last thing I expected (or wanted) was to just attempt to jump weakly into serious tragic character mode in less than 1 episode.

...

So then the episode just goes and does that. It goes into serious mode and I mean DEAD serious mode merely given such simple and unsympathetic context. We're not just palling around anymore. You just blinked and now all of a sudden her extreme petulant ideals and aspirations have now turned into the building blocks for her being all tragic and Sisyphis-like. "I hope you develop some sympathy within the next 8 minutes," this show says.

Such empty aspirations like "I just wanted to change" mean nothing. How do you (or better yet why would you want to) summarize a character tragedy of this dramatic scale on such short notice with such unclear intentions? I mean did her power also prevent her fucked up personality/philosophy/ego from changing as well?? Cause if not then I don't get it. Any semblance of a tragedy wasn't earned through clarity of purpose or understanding.

And the slow death and show of forgiveness by Andy also feels like lip service to a potentially more meaningful relationship that we never see or even get hints at. And I'm not just talking about how the existence of "a relationship" and "revenge" were shown last episode because the connecting tissue between those ideas just seems like pallid nonsense.

Wait, so what actually killed Gina? Yeah, she got hit with the laser, but outside of her makeup cracking a bit it doesn't look like she's wounded at all. I guess I completely misread the dialogue or something because I'm really lost in that regard.

For y’all people who are talking about ‘poor character development Gena’, you can rest easy because she’ll get some shadow later in the series.

I gotta say though… The love of your life shows up for the first time in 50 years, only to kill you so his new chick gets your spot in the union, is pretty UNFAIR don’t you think?

Gina’s words will make more sense when the story progresses. UU is one of those shows where everything ‘clicks’ at a certain point and leaves you speechless. Bare with me.

@0451 They caught him for the first time without him knowing about this whole thing and as he said, he wasn't that experienced and knowledgeable about his own Rules at that time, the 10 years spend in Union facilities also benefited him. There is a important reason why there is limited amount of seats and they all to have to be filled, the world is quite explained and though-out.
