Helck is like a wonder of this world. That strength is truly no joke and the amount of charisma he displays is in sane.

While I do admit the story feels kinda loose at the moment, it's keeping my entertained in terms of character personalities. Helck in particular has no fear.

The more I'm watching this, the less I'm feeling the adaptation. The cut content, the missing extra chapters, the breakneck pace of scenes with no pauses, the flat direction, the narrator stealing characters' lines, the mishandling of tone in some parts, the substandard animation (which at times is becoming more and more reminiscent of Hoshi no Samidare), the nerfed facial expressions, the de-beefed character designs (like on Rubero and the winged sodiers), the ugly and overused effects animation, and (I know it's not the fault of the anime itself but...) the stupid translations. For the most part, everything essential is getting adapted, but all the problems combined slowly shave away at the soul of the manga. It will, of course, still be good, but it doesn't succeed as an adaptation as there isn't a single reason not to read the manga instead at this point.

I must say I loved so much these five working together as a somewhat functional -but mostly dysfunctional- group towards their goal: they're all pretty quirky in their own way, and it reminded me a lot of something like Konosuba! I particulary love that chocolate-obsessed big guy haha!
We also got our weekly dose of 'Bakaaa' :)

And what a cliffhanger once more!
Next week can't come soon enough!

Vermilio and Hyura often pondered why they were the sole individuals who seemed to take matters seriously. Perhaps now, with the abrupt loss of Hyura's arm, others would finally understand the gravity of the situation.

The demon realm was undoubtedly harsh. Living outside protected zones was perilous, with monstrous creatures emerging from the blighted lands, and occasionally, extraordinarily powerful ones surfaced. Adding to the misery, an unknown enemy relentlessly attacked them, leaving them clueless about the motives behind these assaults. Without a doubt, it was an utterly dreadful place to exist.

Now that Hyura’s down for the cut, the team must quickly regroup and improve their performance. Otherwise, their fate seems dire.

Great episode as always but I hate they left us off on a cliffhanger.

we really saw how dangerous the demon realm is outside of the protected areas. Everyone besides Vermelio and Hyura took it as a joke until that new world monster showed up, but this world is pretty dangerous.

Hopefully we learn who these knights are and what they’re doing in the demon realm next week.

I really like Vermilio and her "bakas", also she's fiery (literally) and her expressions continue to be comedy gold. It does suck that Hyura lost an arm but I'm hoping that one of the characters (guessing the big chocolate loving guy) will be able to heal her after the fight.

I wonder who this mysterious knight leader is and I'm very curious to watch how this plays out, and yes this episode went by pretty fast.

9, but there have been a couple extra chapters that got skipped, as well as a bit of cut content. We're not far in at all, so you might as well just start from the beginning.

Damn, the animation and storyboarding when Helck was fighting the New World monster was actually awful, as was the monster's sound design.

Hopefully that's not a sign of a struggling production and they're just saving their efforts for more meaningful fights to come, as I'm thoroughly engaged with this show for the most part.

I see this show on the same ballpark as last season's Mashle, an action comedy that sucks at the action part but makes it up in the comedy part. Welp, Helck just doesn't have the comedy values that Mashle did and there's not a single character I feel it's endearing or actually funny (heck, the sword gag was so poorly executed, Mahoujin Guru Guru did this same joke 100 times better).

I'll watch a few more episodes in hope that at least the storyline makes up for the lackluster action and comedy, given that it's marked as 24 episodes, so there might be room for improvement.

Nah it’s a pretty good adaptation nothing spectacular but it’s also nothing revolting. Plus it does succeed in improving the art of the manga atleast in the beginning cuz Helck looked awful at the beginning of the manga while here he looks pretty solid. The voice acting is also very good and is helps elevate the jokes which actually make me laugh in the anime. The music is also pretty good and fits the tone very well. It’s nothing special but you make it seem like it’s some terrible adaptation. Helck was never gonna get a great adaptation. It’s a finished manga with a relatively small fanbase. Be thankful that we are even getting a half decent adaptation at all. 2 cours is some type of godsend. Plus I think pacing wise they are doing it perfectly. Not much reason to stick to the gags for too long, that stuff is boring compared to what happens later down the line. Plus most of the stuff they skip does not matter even slightly and is just an extra gag or something. Tl;DR: Why can’t you just be appreciative that we are getting a half decent adaptation at all?

While I understand many of the points you're making in your post, I just want to say that adaptations, even the rare quasi 1:1 to the source material kind, don't necessarily need to become substitutes for their own original sources.

Nah according to a very reliable leaker the show has already finished production for all 24 episodes which is very surprising and impressive. But at the same time if they finished that early I wish they took time to go back and make the episodes even better. But with the anime industry always having freelancers hopping between projects it’s not possible

I love that the secret incantation was "PARDON! MAY I COME IN?" 😂

Also Helck was badass when taking on the New Generation (think that was their name) monster.

That last scene when Hyura lost her arm was an out-loud "Oh F&*%" moment.

I'm guessing that maybe Helck is familiar with the New Generation monsters, because the humans had tried using the toxin in experiments to make super-humans or stronger weapons (which would be a very human thing to do 😬), and maaayyyybbeee the winged knights are toxin-induced super-humans.

Excited to see what happens, and it certainly ended on a cliffhanger moment.

So far I’ve enjoyed every episode of this series. I like the mystery behind Helck. Vermilio mentioned that the demons were trying to keep the toxic gas from getting into the human world. Kinda makes me wonder if the demons are really the monsters in this story.

Good episode. Finally get to see the angels in action. kinda seems like the boss is the only overpowered angel though. Kenros kinda an idiot for not bringing a weapon lmao
Honestly at this point its pretty easy to rank the characters in strength
1. Helck
2. Vermilio
3. Hyura
4. Kenros
5. Dorshe

i dont really understand why the 4 demon generals wouldn't attempt to become the demon lord. They have prestige and they also are obviously powerful. Not asking for spoilers.

I didn't like much these eps because I rarely enjoy comedy anime.
But the mysteries to be unfolded could be very interesting. Hopefully starting next ep with the first serious fight.

- Helck joining the demons
- His brother supposedly being the one who killed the demon boss
- Helck supposedly killing his brother. This one is the most intriguing to me. I got the impression they are half-brothers
- The winged knights. They could simply be the common enemy that unites demons and humans. Hope it's more than that.

Like they are Helck's bro true assassins or shit like that. We already -almost- know they did a number on the humans before

I feel this even as an anime only. The cover by itself captured me to what Helck might be even tho I have tons of animes on my bucketlist. Right from the first episode I just get the feeling that the manga would be better, to the point I am now going to go catch up with the anime in the manga.

The anime skipped out on this, but Azudora and Vamirio, who are Four Heavenly Kings, are ranked higher than the demon kings. Each Heavenly King is in charge of a quadrant of the Empire. Demon kings control local districts within those quadrants.

This should have been shown at the beginning of episode 2:
