Damn, all those protestors. They really want their voices be heard.

This episode had its share of creepy and wholesome moments. Kiruko and Maru still had their usual bonding talk. The kiss though, one of the most awkward ones ever. Seeing those horrific images in her head about those monsters tearing her apart was like nightmare fuel though. If anything, this anime knows how to capture emotions, even at its darkest moments.

The Immortalities mini arc of the manga, as both Kiruko and Maru puts on a notice to people that they can offer jobs about killing man-eaters and monsters for a ludicrous amount of money, hoping that someone can bite their bait as they survive like the wilderness. And sure enough, some group of people got them on their radar, which involves the mysterious Dr. Usami. These same group of people, who would escort both teens to a building as they were finding the Immortal Order, but the group of people dragging them to their hospital are not from the Order, but rather, an opposition group called the Liviuman with leader Mizuhashi, made up of prosthetic people who got body parts amputated by the Order and not getting the treatment that they requested for. Bearing witness to the Order's extreme inhumane experimentation which involves humans being kept alive by machines. And this to the Liviuman, is a cause for concern as Dr. Usami's inhumane acts may turn official one day. The coolheaded Hiruko being rebutted by Haru, and sure, he got fanserviced by the boy in the girl's body, and that remains a thing for now with their small space lodging.

The Liviuman leader Mizuhashi staging a protest in broad daylight outside of the Immortal Order's building which houses a man-eater internally, and both Kiruko and Maru are there to only deal with the supernatural, which the protest is to create a diversion so that both teens can enter and eliminate the monster, located in the basement. Haru, sensing something amiss like last episode's water incident, called upon the basis of people finding parts related to Hiruko, and sure enough, when backstabbed, both of them are liable towards being experiments. Finding a dormant Man-water which thankfully Haru quelled without issue, and more Hirukos are found around the car park, one which looks like the big boss, of which they play dead because of malnutrition. And when they decide to attack, they get accosted by the monsters, with Kiruko being restrained and getting her arm and foot chopped, helplessly living for death. Thankfully, it was all a hallucinating dream that Haru managed to wrangle and stop her through his kiss, and despite the awkwardness, Haru got the remaining Hirukos dealt with.

Kiruko is clearly losing focus as Haru hilariously fails at inching another kiss, and Dr. Usami comes in being like a baddie villain ready to face them...though with one peculiar issue to request their help, depending on what he asks.

Bloody, engaging and a hypnotizing episode, it struck me core.

  • That gross man eater's design reminds me of monsters in Shokuryou Jinrui.
  • There was no scene of the isolated facility /school in this episode. We may not see the convergence of the two parallel worlds in this season. Do audience get mad like the case of Arsnotoria?

That illusion was intense.
And they are closing in on a doctor tho not the one the are looking for, tho he is a pretty weird case.
I wonder where they are going with this.
It was surprising to see al those cars in a pretty good state.

It was SO GRUESOME!! Exactly my cup of tea. The little monsters with their booty out really gave me the creeps! I still can’t get over how Maru is a boy so the little romance (kinda) scenes are just weird…Also the doctor doesn’t look as insane as I thought he would but I really wanted to see the other kids!! Can’t wait for the next episode :))))

Like Maru I also had a bad feeling that they could be trapped. Those Hiruko looked so terrifying, that was intense. Kissing to break the illusion, nicely done Maru.

Looking forward to Dr. Usami explanations next week.

Wow, that illusion was certainly quite something. I love how the show doesn't hold back on the gruesome imagery.

Kiruko and Maru look for jobs around killing man-eaters and the like, but quickly, they catch the attention of people who seemed like the Immortal Order, but it turned out to be an opposition group, the Liviuman. The search for the doctor still continues though, as it doesn't seem like Doctor Usami is the person they're looking for, though they did get some background on all the human experimentation going on, and man, the scene with the guy hooked up to all those machines was quite creepy indeed.

Do you remember when Shiro had that dialogue about cutting and stabbing back at the nursery? Dr. Usami reminds me of him, with all the human experimentation going on. If I were to venture a guess, that's probably him, and my, that would be splendid indeed, and would further confirm that the nursery setting is in the past.

So many things to dissect in this show as always, I love it.

Things escalated quickly with that illusion but thankfully an illusion is all it was. Lol Maru, trying to sneak in another kiss after kissing Kiruko to bring her back to reality.

Their search for Dr. Usami wrapped up fast, as the man himself appeared right in front of them. Hope we see the kids in the facility next episode.

The Immortal Order is capable of complex surgical procedures and, if I got it right, worships a cut-up body being kept alive by technological means. I'm going to venture a guess that the body is that of the doctor they're looking for. The worship would be due to the Order getting all their know-how from him.

This Immortal Order experimenting on humans to maybe convert them into man eaters or maybe I guess that Usami guy is just a psychopath having fun killing human.

Wonder what brought Kiruko into that illusion , for a moment thought she really died.

That Usami got the Tokyo Ghoul looks.. wearing that eye patch

Tht order is creepy with their ideology of changing body parts for machine parts. Can't imagine how must feel. Also, Every episode Maru and Kiruko get closer, more so by his (Maru's) initiative. It's odd that we didn't get to see anything on the other side though.

(for the uncultured monoglots out here:
This is and excellent aspect of this series.
It's mysterious, yes, but these mysteries aren't just tricks the author uses to make the public curious and keep theorizing and discussing. It's just that the world is uncertain and full of mismatching information, each group has a point of view that sometimes conflicts with the point of view of other group. No one there has true notion of what is really happening, even on other sides of the same town they live.)

Episode 6 was the one "disconnected".
From episode 5 they were going to this locale in episode 7, but on the way they made a detour to check the "100% clean water" in episode 6.

Holy shit this episode was insane. The hallucination segment got me. Seriously it was so brutal. It kinda reminded my of the rabbit scene in rezero and that one scene in Elfen Leid. I’m really loving the mystery and the overall world building. This shows directing never ceases to amaze me. Every episode gets better and better. We start with many questions and then get a few answers with even more questions. I seriously can’t wait to see what happens next. Literally my favorite anime this season.

This episode was a lot focused on Kiruko and Maru. They building a sign for people to see that they kill man eaters for cash. Kiruko and Maru get spotted by a group but then they get spotted by another group or some sort.

Those protestors lmfao. That scene where Kiruko was getting eaten was terrifying but luckily it was only a illusion as Maru kissed her for a long time, man even wanted to go for a 2nd chance and got refused lmao. This anime knows how to make things interesting.
