| I've just started episode 1 from the 1st season of Konosuba a couple of days ago. Friends told me that I could watch this series without having watched the main one since it's a spin-off and a prequel. While most of the details from the show didn't make sense to me I still plan on keeping watching it. Why? I LOOOOVE red-eyed black-haired girls. You can check my profile and list and you'll see what I mean. This anime gave me, not two, not three, but THIRTEEN red-eyed black-haired girls. I'll keep watching the main series in the meantime so I get the most fun from this show also. |

| I wasn't going to watch this, but here I am. Nothing to blow your mind, but it's fun. Kind of reminds the more comedy focused episodes of Little Witch Academia. |

| If I had watched this before reading the novels, I probably wouldn't have cared an ounce for this series since I found Megumin to be beyond boring but after reading the LNs, I do think she ended up being a lot better than Aqua and Darkness (who both were really poor by the end) so seeing a series of her compared to the other two sounded more promising in my head. There is some potential but I found the humor here to be kinda iffy and lacking that punch of energy that someone like Kazuma brought to the table. It didn't feel that funny to watch but at least in this prequel story, there should be a direction to follow as Megumin would showcase development in her skills with explosion magic. Pretty flat episode overall but does have room for improvement now that the introduction part is done. |
| Well as its not licensed in my country I went full one piece. Pretty glad I rewatched 3.5 on crunchy before going in this eps. Lets go. Destruction magic full power!!! I think Im going to like this. |

| The Academy of Cringe For the cringe; By the cringe; Of the cringe Legends state that Cid Kagenou graduated from this academy and became Shadow. If he had graduated later, he could have taken lessons in being a background character from Yunyun but not the point here. The point is Megumin. Just knew she would ask for big bonkers and thus she did. This gonna be good. |

It stars the comic relief as a lead, when they only really work in contrast to the rest of the cast. The interpersonal dynamic of Konosuba, its literal strongest point, is just gone. And this change in studios isn't worth much either, I swear that rose-haired girl near the middle lost a facial marking during her scene, how does one even go off-model in this day and age? Sad, but it's out. Yeah, I don't think anyone would disagree that the fun dynamics in the main story are missing here. Though we've only had 1 episode, it's doubtful that there'll be characters that fill that gap (The other students in the prison are pretty much slightly altered variations of Megumin). I only ask that people just enjoy the spin-off for what it is - a spin-off. I can recall a similar sentiment being echoed in the Kakegurui spinoff. It'd be crazy if a spin-off could actually be better than the main thing. I for one would watch 12/13 episodes about any of the main characters (or that adventurer dude that keeps smiling in the background), so if people can just look beyond comparisons (same with the animation department) I think they'd enjoy it for what it simply is. That's just my take. |

| Glad that we finally have something new in the KonoSuba series to watch. Whilst I don't think it will be as enjoyable as the main series for me, getting to see what made Megumin into the mage that she is currently is still an interesting enough premise. Looks like she got influenced by some incredibly strong mage that we'll probably find out more about during the series. Nice seeing how the "rivalry" with Yunyun started out. |

| Bro lets go, Megumin is back better then ever! This first episode was a nice introduction on what we can expect in the future episodes. I'm REALLY glad Megumin is the Konosuba character with most attention, honestly she is an amazing character, and my personal favorite out of every one there is out there. I wanted to melt out of cuteness when I saw Komekko eating AAAAAHHHHH!!! Looking forward to this anime (even tho it's a knock-off I don't mind) with my arms open. |

| I'm a fan of Megumin, I thought the Konosuba movie which had a big focus on her and her town was honestly superb. With that said I wasn't super feeling this opening episode, I just think the rest of the party (Kazuma especially) is just too important to what makes Konosuba enjoyable as a whole. I hope it picks up for me and I get some genuine enjoyment out of this though. 6/10 first ep. |
| Good start for this spinoff. Seems like it will have its share of KonoSuba wackiness combined with some story-telling about Megumin's past. |
| Pretty fitting for this to come out now after having just finished the 3 prequel books leading up to Megumin joining the gang. I imagine those 3 will be animated. Looking forward to it |

| It took me days trying to finish the episode and I can conclude it's really not that funny. I think it suffers a bit from the same problem of S1 where it tries to setup a lot and not focus on creating good jokes yet. If it was years ago I'd continue anyway to see if it improves, but right now I don't have the patience for it. It's sad cause I was actually looking forward to it |
