Totally agree, the genre ain't hit the same no more.

The current industry definitely evolved to be more commercialized, real fast food media, quick to evoke feeling, easy to consume, but lack the long-term substance to reflect after. I miss when authors were more carefree with their pages (if they were allowed to). Now it just feels like it's illegal to have blank pages anymore. Would rather have an empty candid panel than a forced dialogue scene to fill the air.

I read a couple of chapters from Nora b4 and really enjoyed it :D
Love the art and the moral subjects they show (reminds me of Musume no Tomodachi but more depressing)

I see. The manga goes in a very wrong direction, although I only briefly checked the most recent chapters (30-35). Honestly, I'm not quite sure what I personally want from the story. Initially, I was rooting for her brother, but it's an abusive relationship pretty much. On the other hand, Ran wasn't exactly fair with her promises, but at the same time, it's hard to blame her. Yeah, overall I have very mixed feelings about this manga, as it looks like the author doesn't know where it's all going

I really liked your Haru no Arashi to Monster review! Do you still read it? Has your opinion on manga changed from that time? I really liked the first 15 chapters, but since then it's been downhill, unfortunately.

The anime trailer looks pretty nice, really hope they condense the plot unlike the manga (too much yapping).

Plot progression-wise, the story actually has pretty good development and a lot of content to cover, but they keep stretching each scene with the same dialogue pattern of using overextended sorry and thank-yous. Like I don't mind them being dramatic and reflective of every mili-second of their actions, but at a certain point in their "friendship", I feel like they should understand each other by now without having to say or tell the audience so. Most "misunderstanding" conflicts mirror the previous conflicts, so when the character apologizes for their behavior for the third time, it just feels redundant and takes away a lot of momentum in many emotional scenes imo.

But then again, the slow-burn plot might just be the appeal for many others.

70ish chapters into reading this, the story is still quite tedious, but personally, I really enjoyed the blushing and romantic aspect of the story, an absolute 10/10 carried the manga.

Thank you! I definitely think the stellar presentation blinded people towards most of the first season’s issues. The author keeps introducing “Mitty” character archetypes that have gotten worse and worse with each iteration. Akihito doesn’t understand that genuine emotional attachment to a character takes time and can’t just be rushed in a single episode through sappy flashbacks. Prushka and this season’s character are the worst since we have the least actual reason to actually care about them. I dropped the manga as well since I didn’t see it getting any better and this season showed me it only got worse. Less focus on actual exploration and more just on gratuitous shock value..
