This episode has been brutal, the feeling of stress and terror that it transmits is very good. I'm looking forward to reading the manga.

What a weird episode, and the cgi of the balloons with a human head is not bad at all
I'm not a critic or anything like that but I like to give my opinion

The feeling of horror is transmitted really well in this episode. I am only at episode 3 but I guess that this will be one of the best episodes

This episode gimme goosebumps, it was really uncomfortable to see these balloons smiling and killing ppl. Maybe is the best episode, even if I haven't seen the othera.
Also, the cgi was quite good.

Hanging Balloons is a favorite of mine but I didn't get much out of this episode. Still, I liked the 90s filter with the television scenes. It's a nice touch.

The not-bad-but-not-great CGI on the balloons made them look even creepier. I have a feeling this is going to be the best episode of the series, like "Long Dreams" was to Itou Junji: Collection

Lol I found the premise of this more funny than scary with the floating heads haha. Defo an element of humour in there too

Nope nope nope and nope

Bumping balloons in a mockery of a kiss while that boy hangs below like a rag doll?

Yep, I’d be booking it out of there as fast as possible.

Ok maybe it's valid that people are scared of CGI. So far it has been getting better with each episode.

Holy crap, that was horrifying! And the end signifying her giving up because of the helpless situation was a strong message. How cunning of the balloons to make use of her brother like that? Definitely the most unsettling ep so far.

Oy oy why would your brother be knocking on your window? Geez. You could've peeked through the curtain as well. Welp! Goodbye, I guess. Giving up there was sadly valid, given how hopeless the situation was. There was no way out of it at all.

This episode is good.

That's Junji Itou for you. Tense story like hell. But IT NEEDED AN EXPLANATION FOR SURE. Like where these heads-like balloon can from and why people are being killed.

This is one of my most fav stories ever from Junji Ito. Not going to lie; same stuff but in manga is way better. But I think this is a cool adaptation

My favorite thing about this episode is how the balloons are never explained. It makes it even eerier, imagining them as some sort of space alien gave me goosebumps.
remember the lesson, not the disappointment.

When a loved one commits suicide people are more likely to have suicidal thoughts themselves and data suggests that after a celebrity commits suicide reporting on the suicide increases suicide rates in the following weeks. Representing these increased thoughts of suicide with these giant balloons looming over the survivors at all times is really clever and it manages to make the globophobia aspect not feel out of place or forced in. The way the idol's fans were acting and the way the ghost story was being spread by students and television personalities without any care for the idol's friends and family's feelings was in its own way just as horrifying as the monsters. Definitely one of Junji Ito's better stories.

That was pretty good. I honestly wonder how you can escape the floating heads. Maybe if you can manage to pin them down with a solid object or pillar into the ground? There really seems to be no way out of that. Horrible

This was a great episode. It was a bit absurd to the level of being funny, but horror and comedy aren't polar opposites.

@Jimgus I really like this analysis of the episode. Even with the dad leaving to work and the son dying because he felt the need to save them.

Ah, one of the more bizarre Junji stories, and that's saying something. I still remember the random guy with the crossbow and the dad casually going to work in the middle of an apocalypse. Course, the way people kind of just accept whatever's happening without much fuss in Junji stories is part of what sells them for me.
