Wow, you are fast!
Glad to hear you found my picks enjoyable!
I see what you mean with Planetarian, it is very much concept before world building. In that, it is very different from Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu or others. Though, to be honest, I think for me the central conflict of Human Idealism VS Human Realism was so strong and so tragic in the way that it plays out, I never thought about needing backstory to the Junker or to Yumemi. Just thinking about Yumemi standing by the door to the planetarium, inviting guests in who will never come, brings tears to my eyes. :)
But here's the good news for you, the VN really has some more backstory to both of the characters and fleshes out the world history behind what happened a bit more than the series. I've read two different official English versions of the VN: there is the original English release (has since been delisted from Steam unfortunately) and a newer HD re-release with updated art and sound. If I'm not mistaken, both versions have a very similar translations, but the art in the HD version is glossier and shinier than the original. Not that that is a bad thing, it just makes it look a little less charmingly quirky if you ask me.
Hope you have a great 2025!!
Mike
