We got the back to back episodes today including the finale. Looks like the war is over and peace is here.

However, I'd say this is more of an open ending as new journey starts for the cast. I'm just really glad all the hard work and feelings paid off in the end. To bring a war to an end was never easy from the beginning.

This was a great episode with everyone in the epilogue.

When the production have a great episode to end planned, but had the dumb decision to make the prior episode. If had cut the Kuon's tantrum, would be a great season, and wouldn't need to animate episode 27.
If had cut episode 27 would be: 8 , with episode 27: 5 or 6.

Excellent finale, really truthful to the game, overall one of the best anime of the year, easy 10/10, the wait was definitely worth it!

I am glad, Hakuoro got his happy ending after all this years. I feel a bit bad for Kuon, but Haku is not dead or sealed after all. He is just a god wandering this world. I doubt, there will be any sequel games, but who knows.

He's on a different plain of existence.  How in the hell do you think you'll find him?
It was good to see everyone else move though.
Really happy it's over.

As so it is over, I love how we got to see how is everyone doing after all that happened, Haku ended up taking God's place, helping people in need and even freed Hakuoro so he could finally be reunited and enjoy life with Eruruu, a bittersweet ending for Kuon but she knows Haku will forever be by her side, the real winner here were Uruuru and Saraana.

Was the adaptation perfect? not in any way but I still enjoyed every week with it, but still, everyone should just play the VN and then see the adaptation to relive the moments.

Really wish this adaptation could've been even serviceable to the source. It felt like a genuine spit in the face a lot of the time with how poorly things were directed, paced and depicted to the point that they couldn't even use soundtracks or get character designs right. Extremely disappointing even coming from the last season that flanderized the source horribly.

The best part is they dedicated an entire episode to the epilogue which I did not expect. They gave each character decent time to show what they did after Haku became the new God.
Also, Saraana and Uruuru truly won in the end. They got to be with him forever.

So many great scenes,

1. Kuon and Anju making a truce in the name of Hakuowlo (Haku+owlo [king]).
2. 8:14 we even get to see this traveling merchant (Chikinaro) that has helped the protagonists since the first game. And the bandit who became a woman right after.
3. Haku basically kicking Hakuoro out of the other world and replacing him as God thus turning Hakuoro into a normal human.
4. So much soundtracks here and there for all the nostalgia. Even from the first game. Suara you are a gem in this series.
5. Haku appearing to Kuon in a dream to get back his Tessen, with the twins of course with him.
6. A great way to end a trilogy. Such a large cast but they were able to do it properly with this episode.

What a delightful, bittersweet way to end the season. I had no knowledge of this series or the source material going in (and quickly went through the previous two seasons earlier this year), and I am so glad that I did.

It is a nice end to the story without feeling like it is truly the end, i.e. the world keeps turning and people have to get back to their lives. Even the somewhat sad aspect to the ending, Haku and Kuon not being together, seems more hopeful, and she is undoubtedly more optimistic going forward. (Compare that to the emotional gut punch at the end of the second season; I have no idea how anyone would be able to wait 5 years or whatnot to find out how it was resolved.) And for what it is worth, the way Haku kicked Hakuoro out of the heaven and took away his powers was very on brand.

Any problems aside, it had a large cast of fun, likable characters, interesting world building, and it generally had above average production values. It might not be anybody's favorite anime of the year (kind of insane year, to be honest), but it is easy to see why people would get emotionally involved with this story (or its source material).

Could not stop loling at the way Haku kicked Hakuoro out of that 'plain'
If I recall correctly I think a few small points about why he couldn't stay with them yet somehow he could still wander/appear (like the whole Lord Mashiro thing) was omitted...but sort of implied so I guess it's ok...

Though I never could never fathom why, if they wanted to talk to Haku that much, couldn't they just visit that shrine Eruruu was "guarding" in the first place? *shrug*

Overall epic ending and it gave me all sort of nostalgic feels seeing it all animated.
I wish there was an extra epilogue OVA or something more light-hearted where Haku interacts with them more other than this tiny bit where he takes the Tessen from Kuon but I doubt they'll do anything when you consider how old the source is...

7/10 - like the previous season. Very old first season was a 9 for me. This one still a bit better than the previous season. But the sci-fi reveals can't really shock anymore - since those are getting old. Only worked in the old anime ... the first season years ago.

What I mainly dislike: The main interesting plot with the war and politics (it was not that interesting though ... more like a travelling and gathering allies plot) is just not important anymore - once they moved to the real plot with Woshis. And after the satellite got activated ... the whole stuff after that - felt unnecessary. (Just too much.) Last episode was nice again though.

The setting itself ... still is nice. With a better war plot - I would have liked it a bit more. In the old anime - first season with Hakuoro - I think (if I remember correctly) ... I liked tha part (until the reveals at the end) ... much more. + The reveals hit harder since I was not used to them yet - since it was season 1.

This anime was nvr gonna be an top tier adaptation but the source was and will always be one of the best anime fiction ever.

The anime adapted the fully well rounded and deserves an 8.

After these years, I have forgotten most of the story. Ukon was mentioned several times but I couldn't remember who's that character until I saw the MAL page.

Is this the last of Utawarerumono? Good ending for Hakuoro and Eruruu, bittersweet ending for Haku and Kuon.

Is this just me? Karura's sword look smaller in Anju's hand?

Shinonon as Mikado is cute, Shinonon is just Kiuru's toy? I want to see more of Shinonon-Kiuru story lol.

Story and characters are well written, Kimi ga Tame song hits hard, too bad no Musouka.

I dunno if I want more Utawarerumono, the ending is perfect but I want better ending for Haku-Kuon like Hakuoro-Eruruu.

decent ending, felt a little empty, wish it had more impact, but it was alright.

That was pretty sad that Haku died and all. And it seems like he freed Kuon's dad I am guessing. If he was able to free her dad, why cant he free himself and actually be in the physical world? I thought from the last episode he was going to stay but apparently not.

I was waiting for this Moment for over 15 years. Hakuorou finally returns to Erururu.
Overall this season was a 7,5 for me, I Grant it an 8 because i am a Hakuorou fanboy and they delivered here. I also Love the sci fi turned medivial age setting they established, that is somewhat unique and the fact that people dont Like that is confusing to me. It is the best Part of Utawarerumono.

I Wonder If Haku is more expierenced because He is a Scientist or why he can control the God within himself without the Need of being sealed, since Hakuorou, the original god, wasnt able to Control it.

Each new installment of Utawarerumono is a step down from the last, and the 3rd is as bad as Shakugan no Shana 3. Worst of all is the 18 episode war that can be summarized in 2 words: "Haku wins." @koala12345 was right to say I would continue complaining after finishing, but I did like a few of the later episodes.

Didn't like the last arc either. Very contrived writing with the singular purpose of killing Haku. Woshis just stumbled upon a level 5000 upgrade and was suddenly overly struck with daddy issues because they couldn't figure out a better way of killing off Haku.

This whole season was long and painful to get through. Absolute trash. And that's not enough even. This season retroactively makes the first season worse. Fuck this season.

I think the first season and first half of this season deserves praise. They're good. It's just this last arc is not very clever anymore and you know they start gearing up to make the pieces fall into place, but it's also too sudden and rushed and feels very contrived.

This was also so confusing xD It´s a dream, then it´s real, then they are actually dead, then alive, then dream hahahaha what the fuck was going on xD

I was also not expecting much the plot to turn out to be that~ 'wtf' with monsters and ex deus machine-like xD

I really feel bad specially for Kuon, Nekone and a few others... I mean, Oshtor and Haku died (apparently?) and they really liked/loved them. It was like repeating the same suffering all over again.

In general, I wish this season had less episodes. I think it would have been better, in general. Although we had dragged out 1st half and a few rushed moments in some of the last episodes.

Yamato being destroyed by that space weapon called Amaterasu made me wonder "So the 1st half of the anime was basically deleted? xD" I mean, Yamato was the objective, but then... destroyed.
At least they managed to rebuild it in the end?

Does Hakuoro ressurected? I wish I could have seen him appearing to other characters if that was the case.

Also, what happened to the twins? I did see them appearing with Haku at the end, but... did they died? Did I miss something? xD I really did enjoy those two.

Not sure how to feel about that

It felt way too forced with the last arc and the daddy issue dude. Felt so forced that it didn't have a single impact on me and looked like an attempt by the writer to just kill off Haku. Just get rid off the last arc and play it safer with just a slice of life ...

Have to agree with other posters in this thread. This season felt confusing as a whole.
If they decided to make OVAs or movies that are recaps of the three series, I'd give a watch if the pacing is good.

Even though the last season was like cutting too many scenes and even changing the some part of the story. Utawarerumono futawari no hakuoro makes its redemption by staying close with its VN source. Still a recommended to watch series and is underrated anime at least imo.

I really liked the Utawarerumono The False Masks a lot more than this one due to us having a lot more "Hak" in it.
