With all the hard work thus far, Rei letting Serufu put on the final screw to their completed treehouse secret hideout, really sums Serufu's journey of trial-and-error to one who is finally adept at DIY, though she has still aways to go. This easily sums Jobko's "Good job!", and the treehouse looks absolutely great.

The Summer vacation has just started, and the DIY Club has a party as a commemoration for the project's completion, and sadly the farewell party for Jobko as well. With gifts from sukonbu to drawings and even the Sunflower Girls sources 2 different ways, it's hard to say goodbye, and the sustaining of the club through external funds even if they don't have new members. But at least the tree house is a nice gesture and highlight of the club now. Jobko's home will always remain where things are, and she is welcome back anytime, since she couldn't get any form of parenting back at home in America.

Jobko's departure bades the final farewell, and Miku's final DIY project of a tree-hung swing using the floorboards of the DIY Club with their special name-engraved wood, she has finally come clean with her criticisms from the very beginning, though keeping that same tsundere personality while taking care of her as a childhood friend. Miku's given wind chime to complete the tree house, but rather, they could just make a new one together. Do It...Yourself!

What a great CGDCT show, a match made in heaven of an obscenely STRONG pairing with Bocchi the Rock! this season. Gonna miss this show greatly!

Finally, the DIY Club's tree house is completed, and it looks absolutely fantastic! Goob job, girls! I'm so proud of you. :)

That painting of Jobko was cute. I hope she comes back as soon as possible.

It seems the DIY Club is going to get two new members pretty soon. That's great!

Aww, Serufu and Purin taking a nap together after the hard work. I love their friendship. Also, that swing they made looks really nice.

This was my favorite show of the season. I absolutely loved the whole cast and their chemistry. I'll miss them so much. <3

Hopefully we get a second season or at least some sort of special/spin-off series where the girls are simply building all kind of things and giving useful DIY tips. I think that would be awesome.

Do It Yourself!!

My adorable girls... I'm gonna miss you all so much. This show was the best show for me this season. I love it so fricking much. Everyone is so precious in this show. And, on top of that, it is the most underrated show of this season.

I love it. I want more of it. Please. <3 They completed their tree house and Jobko went back to America. And, Purin and Serufu are once again close friends just like they used to be.

It was a cute and fluffy ending. Purin is still being tsundere until the end of the series. hehe...
I wish Jobko will return soon. It would not be the DIY club without Jobko.

What a heartwarming finale to a heartwarming series about friendship, hard work, manual labour and cuteness. I quite liked it.

At first stance, what really striked me was the art style. It didn't go for the usual character design and facial expressions, but rather, something new and fresh and it suits it quite well, even with the minor character appearances. The music is also quite relaxing, featuring the inclusion of a pan flute and probably a xilophone which I believe gave it character (just like the screws).

Regarding the character themselves, each of them had their time on the spotlight and their interactions charming, giggly and joyful to watch. Purin's (Miku) development was notable to me as it was Jobko's personality and the unspoken rivalry between the leader and Shii.

There's really not much else I can add to this. I'd say this is quite the slice of life around an unexpected topic that leaves you with some urge to go build something (with caution). Good job.

I know that Serufu growth is the important part, but see that Kurage getting the OS update in the end, I thought "That's character development".

I really liked this show. So charming. I really think the anime industry could learn a thing or two from it and idk consider changing up their visual style a little because Do It Yourself has been a lot more visually pleasing than a lot of what gets put out these days <3

I swore I wouldn't cry, but damn it...I failed miserably!

I've watched tons of CGDCT anime, but this one just hit different...the artstyle, the script, the music & VA's were just a perfect mix all together!

Serufu's character was just too cute, and throughout the series, the urge to hug her and protect her was just too strong!

Meat (pig) was another cute character that went thru the 7 levels of hell, but in an adorable way!

The rest of the cast were just as amazing, and were the perfect mix of cute and quirky that the show needed.

Overall, this was a 9/10 for me, and a solid contender for anime of the season!

Glad Serufu was able to add some character to the floor but I hope that she leveled up by the time she put the last screw in. And to think this all started with wanting to make a bench. Great way to end it. On another note, I hope that the the new OS makes the jellyfish a little less creepy.

The Treehouse's completion, summer break starting, Jobko's departure.. everything was phenomenal. The little bit of information of how & why Jobko came to Japan, all the way to the end; just hit even harder. Thank you Pine Jam, and all parties involved for giving us such a phenomenal anime this year. I wish I had more to say, and I'll probably edit this later; however I'll leave you with this.

This final episode sums up how comfy and relaxing this series has been during this season as a whole.

Sure, Bocchi The Rock does overshadow it, but Do It Yourself excels at how inviting and fun it has been, from the cast to the projects that the girls have taken on. With the treehouse finally complete, it was time to say goodbye to Jobko, as she's ready to head back to America with plenty of parting gifts, from Sunflower Girls manga and light novels, multiple boxes of her favourite snacks and a lovely portrait of herself drawn by Serufu. It was really wholesome. =)

However, Purin had Serufu to go along with her back to school during the summer break so that they could construct a tree-hung swing by using more floorboards from the DIY clubroom. The two had a really nice time together in their construction of the swing, as well as the heart-to-heart talk they had after the swing was completed. Seeing them being happy together succeeds in making me smile, that's for sure! ^_^

8/10 will be my final score for this series thanks to the fun cast, catchy OP song, chill ED song and nice production values overall.

This was such a great show to watch through every week, very fun and wholesome. While it had a very solid conclusion, I still don’t wanna consider it a conclusion and am praying for another season. The OP and ED were two of my favorites for the season as well, everything about this show was enjoyable to me. This was fantastic, and really wanna see more interactions between these characters, and see what they come up with to build next. Will miss it sorely.

Awww, so the anime did end with Jobko going home. Kind of sad that she barely gets time to enjoy the treehouse they all worked so hard on.

The show finished without closure in regards to the original goal, getting more club members. But somehow, the ending feels fitting for a relaxing show about friendship. We know the characters will go on to keep having fun and building things together, and that's what matters.

Plus, it was great seeing Purin come around and embrace her friendship with Serufu! I didn't like Purin in the beginning because I thought she was just so mean for no reason, but she grew as a character and finally admitted she does enjoy DIY. So it's a happy ending, and it felt like it was left kind of open-ended to allow for a season 2.

I'll miss the charm and light-hearted feeling I get when watching Do It Yourself and I'm glad I got to watch it while it was airing. I think this will be remembered and cherished as a beloved CGDCT in the future.

The treehouse came out so nice! I hope those two girls who asked to go inside do decide to join the club.

A lovely sight for those who ship Purin and Serufu!! I think this episode had the best animation out of all of them

Pretty good final episode, but this anime waned on me as the episodes rolled on. Still can't get over some of those horrible VA performances either, "rubbing a balloon" sort of discomfort. Not as bad as Eizouken was, with the relentless lessons on "how to do shit" and nothing else, but I wish it was a little bit more multidimensional. 5/10.

The tree house is complete, Jobko is going home with so many memories and new friends, and Serefu and Purin have finally embraced as almost like soulmates. I wish my adolescence was as fufilled as this.

Jokes aside, this was such a delightful series to watch. Cute and relaxing, so much so that I tend to leave Chainsaw Man an extra day so I can watch that then immediately follow it up with this as a way to mellow out. Also a few valuable lessons, that we shouldn't take stuff like DIY for granted in this society of forever advancing technology. That basic level of creativity requires hard work, focus and determination, something we all need in our day to day lives even as kids. Also, as this show proves, DIY can be such a great way to connect with others, because you're all working towards something. It's why the concept of Men's sheds is a thing. I hope this show actually inspires more people to take it up. Having spent some time in a shed group myself working towards a major project for our community, I at one point dreaded the idea of having to do it just so I got my welfare payments and couldn't wait to return to university full time so I wouldn't be required to be there, but I still look back on it with some sort of pride, that, yeah, we made that stuff ourselves, and I don't end up regretting it at all.

So in other words, this was a great show, with down-to-earth delightful characters, a positive message and surprisingly fluid animation. I would not be mad at all if a second season got commissioned. After all, there are so many more things to be built!

A sweet and feelsy final episode, the secret hideout/treehouse is finally finished with Serufu putting the final screw in, and the finished product looks so cozy. The girls throwing a little party afterward was really chill, but then the reality that Jobko is leaving sets in as the girls each give her a parting gift, each one fitting their character, and they were all very nice gifts, even Shii and her tiger lol. We also got a depressing bit of Jobko’s backstory, but now she’ll have a grand tale to bring to her dad that he will definitely enjoy like Purin said.

And after Jobko’s farewell, we get an amazing final bit where Purin and Serufu build a swing for the treehouse just the two of them, it was especially sweet giving the amount of backstory we’ve seen on those two, as well as the fact it took Purin so long to join the club, it was nice seeing her apologize for being such a tsun the whole time too lol. And ending on a picture of the gang in the treehouse along with both the OP and ED playing back to back was a great spot to end on.

This was, to me, a perfect 10/10 Slice of Life/CGDCT show. I picked it at the start of the season because I’m a big fan of the genre but upon the show starting I wasn’t just blown away by the amazing art and animation, but also how incredibly sweet this show is altogether, and that’s thanks to the characters for sure. These girls are some of the most memorable SoL characters I’ve seen, they all had unique personalities but worked so well together. Serufu was such a sweet MC, her relationship with Purin was always a delight to see, loved all the other girls too but I want to highlight Jobko because I saw her getting some hate throughout the season but I wanna say I absolutely loved her and her engrish, even if it doesn’t sound perfect it was always really nice to hear imo. And the DIY was always really fun and interesting, something you wouldn’t usually associate with cute girls but it worked really well. The OP and ED were two of the bests this season, absolutely fantastic visuals and songs, I was especially a fan of the ED’s song, I think it takes the cake for my favorite ED of the season.

I don’t think this will get a Season 2 because it ends at a really good spot but you know I’d be there if there ever was one, I’d love to see the DIY girls again with some new faces added in. It really hurts to say goodbye to this one but I know I’ll watch it again in the future.

I don't know how to feel.

CGDCT shows are my bread an butter, but this one lacked something in order to make it memorable and I just don't know what.

There were great characters that would had been a great addition in some other shows, like Shii and her genki catlike attitude, Purin and her strong tsundere archtype and Rei as the reliable senpai. And then there's Serufu that kinda rubbed me the wrong way by being so clumsy for the sake reinforcing the "dojiko" archtype, Takumin couldn't be any more memorable even if she tried her best and even Jobjo it's kinda funny, her engrish kinda got tired after a while, and it's weird since I love this archtype character, Mary from LL Sunshine was a complete blast with her one liner "it's joke".

There are some really great values in the very unique artstyle and animation along with very interesting framing shots. But the writting and the ensemble as a whole kinda drag down the great parts of the visuals.

The finale felt a quite flat, there was no buildup for Jobko's goodbye in the previous episode and it kept jarring me that they just keep tearing down the DIY club in order to upgrade the tree house, leaving the next members with a deficient building that can't even hold itself when it rains.

If this aired in a slower season, maybe it would had been more memorable, but aside the big hitters, other sol shows like Yama no Susume just made this one pale in comparisson.

Sorry, Bocchi. Do It Yourself!! is the Anime of the Year!!

Yes, even better than Slow Loop.

I wasn't very excited about January's Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible. But after DIY, I will be tuning in for all of Pine Jam's new anime.

Purin and Jobko really cranked up the Iyashikei. This CGDCT anime is now firmly and permanently in the Iyashikei Hall of Fame.

I know it would be easy to cry for a sequel, but this anime is too perfect. I don't even want to hear people asking for a sequel. We should just watch DIY over and over and over again. Thank you, Pine Jam. Thank you to our director, writer, and musicians and singers. It was beautiful.

Kouki and Jobko carried this anime. Literally every other character were boring or just not enjoyable other then the adults.

I thought Cute Girls building things would have been fun but it was just them screaming the title of the anime each episode about 4-5 times an episode and it just got repetitive.

Everyone Bocchi this season but this was the best SoL for me by far. What an absolutely adorable finale.

Jobko grew on me a lot over the course of the season, it was so nice seeing she and Miku help each other open up about their feelings. I was kinda hoping Jobko would stay, but I guess she does need to check on her dad if he’s been lonely since her mom died.

Speaking of Miku, she’s so damn gay for Serufu and I love it lmao. I was fully expecting a confession on the bench, but it was close enough. She and Yua are such great friends and I’m really happy she was able to express herself finally at the end. I’ll miss their dynamic and all of the girls so much. I hope we get a manga continuation of the story or something
