Yeah its just upsetting while it makes zero sense if at all. From the anime watcher perspective, but I don't want to read ahead of the anime, because that will ruin the experience for me. I already read the spoilers for 1057, since social media in general are just filled with inconsiderate people. Its impossible to avoid the, especially youtube, even if you block the channels. So I went ahead and just read 1057 spoilers..... Because I was in disbelief.
Really? Shes got so much traits in her personality, anime wise of course.
We have her geeking out on Battle Franky. More reactions and exaggerations than Robin. and etc.
Having her as a grand fleet would be the worst case scenario, because the grand fleet are filled with flat characters. And power scale wise, won't fit either. With her having a dream, connection to ace, and a reputation of being the daughter of Kaido, that is too much.
So shes a much much impactful character. That has a lot of potentials, instead of being a side character. And lets not even mention about her Haki, which further makes her more viable.
The anime had payed attention to Yamato A LOT, especially the adaptation to chapter 1000, which is episode 1015. On top of that, Toei and Oda hired a very reputable voice actor, Hayami Saori, who is very expensive to hire. While shes been a huge fan of One Piece and Luffy since elemantary, so its a fitting role for her to be Yamato.
Also showed way more scenes of her, and have it elevated way more.
So the question is, why would Toei do SOOO much effort to make Yamato look good with a lot of attention? Seems like a huge waste budget and time, just to put her on the sideline.
