Damn, they really went in all out for the music this episode. Unholy soundtrack, theme song played mid-episode, etc.

When it comes down to it, the two most important characters Noe and Vanitas in this show get their spotlight in the finale Their complex relationship really shined through this season imo, for it has been a driving point in the story.

Going to miss this anime for sure. It's been quite a journey.

The epilogue of the battle between friends...all being orchestrated by Mikhail, and Domi on the verge of suicide and losing her real name. Well that didn't went according to plan, and Mikhail ended up misusing the Book of Vanitas's power to turn into his own vampire Charlatan being while Domi is able to break out of his spell to fight him...which is the first time that we really see her harness her powers in full detail.

"Spare the child and spoil the rod" this is not, as Mikhail's true Charlatan is the former Marquis de Sade, Domi and Noé's grandfather-cum-teacher, the Shapeless One known as Comte de Saint Germain, whom rescued Mikhail out of his predicament. He's a scary and formidable being.

Vanitas and the gang all came back disheveled, recovering from this trauma with the heaviest of hearts, and that includes Mikhail. Both brothers contending with each other of the days with the real Vampire of the Blue Moon Luna, and what conspired out of it of the motive of vengeance on curse-bearers. If Vanitas one day has to cease living, he would be willing to die by Noé's hands.

After all this time, both Vanitas and Noé have finally reconciled with their goals and objectives, and whatever they choose to live by, they're doing things together.

Still an excellent show that continues the greatness of the 1st Cour, and ALL of the source material that's currently released has been adapted (both translated & Monthly Gangan Joker serialization) which is even greater.

Definitely there's not enough materials in the manga to be able to make a 3rd season but overall I enjoyed this, I had a lot more fun in this season than the 1st cour where it's a lot more action oriented but there are equally conceptual aspects that gets a greater impact in the latter. The chemistry between Vanitas and Noé has been very eye opening and complex all the way through and the other new characters who have appeared in this cour got their own charm and motifs to which is why they're one of the well characterized characters and the animation and direction is always stunning! Wow what a journey, going to miss this show for a while. 9/10.

Well that was creepy, Mikhail being possessed by Charlatan and for sure i didn’t feel bad for him, still watching Domi in some real action was a feast for eyes. Though having seen Noé’s sensei for the very first time, his real face that is was an unexpected and a pleasant surprise. Guess he’s somewhat of a final boss or something.

Being a finale means the issues need to be resolved for good, and seems like these characters had it done for now, at least for now. Was a good two-cour journey with some kinky moments here and there, but I guess I will still miss this one.

Finally my girl Domi's turn to shine and she looked beautiful using those ice skills. Also the man the legend the shapeless one appeared, that was intense. Pretty good finale that brought closure to this arc. Decent second cour overall, I know season 2 will have to wait but hopefully it'll happen eventually.

Man! What a wrap up for this series. I'm glad that I gave myself a chance to watch this epic series.

Anime has caught up with the original source so we might wait for S2 for atleast a year since it performed well since its release.

I love it, the characters grew well and VanitasXNoe's relationship gained another level (lol).

I love this series so much, I wud love to hear the characters' voices again. And, I wud like to quote what the other commentator said abt Ishida-san character 😂 I felt that everytime there is Ishida-san 's voice, I thought the character wud be somewhat antagonist/anti-hero.

10/10 for this. Music is also epic.

With this second part I've realized I'm not great at picking up small details that foreshadow future events. Maybe going through the source material will make me do that.

In any case, the show maintains the level of quality from the first part, though in a more serious tone now that different aspects of the world and secrets have been revealed. I'm not entorely sure what the whole picture is though but it will be nice if we ever get to them. Furthermore, presentation is still decent as well, both in music and animation. It has certainly a style that distinguishes it and goes along with the characters.

Still, in terms of enjoyment I somehow didn't feel as invested this time around. Maybe it was due to my own confusion or the character dynamic changing. With that, I don't think those who didn't enjoy the first part will be more leniant to give the second a chance.

Regardless, it's a good series overall. Hopefully it continues.

Damn, that was quite the finish to wrap up the first season!

Mikhail turned out to be in a far worse position than Vanitas. Chipping away their humanity with every use of the Book of Vanitas? That's pretty horrid stuff. I feel like this might've been hinted at earlier but I don't think I picked it up. In any case, the main antagonist (?) makes his entrance. Always glorious to have Akira Ishida-san play such roles!

Vanitas being unable to finish off Noe and then Dominique entering battle to save the day was a cool sequence of events. And of course, A-1 delivered on the animation and sound departments!

There's definitely more story behind Vanitas's killing of his saviour. True name defiling though, I wonder how it got to that. For a brief period, I thought Dominique's name might've been tampered with.

All in all, it's been a fairly entertaining second half. As @BlichoBoy mentioned above, the ideas behind the arcs were well constructed and thought out but for some reason the investment factor for me was missing. Honestly, I can't quite seem to grasp my hand around exactly why considering it wasn't really that the pacing that was too off or anything of the sort. It was definitely slow in the middle and abrupt between different arcs though.

Regardless, a strong 7/10 from here. Hoping for a 2nd season in the near future once enough material is available!

@234Mannan Cool, thanks, I’ll keep that in mind then.

I recommend Reading the manga in that case, since the pacing for the anime was too fast even though the adaptation was good. But the main reason is simply the beast of gevaden arc(it was atleast a 12 episode worth content). The manga is simply much more detailed and immersive as well.
Also the anime did left a lot of details in that arc not to mention censored some stuff as well.
So yeah even as much as i love the series, the anime did not give enough time to some stuff

Good thing that it ended well between Vanitas and Noé, I was worried, it felt like it got resolved a bit too quickly (maybe) but it's still fine, and it's a good stopping conclusive point for the anime now that it seems it caught up with the manga and adapted everything, great job for sure overall

Whoa these people, they actually did technically catchup with the manga, rushing and cutting through but doing more or less a decent job.

What I'll miss most are the va performances and the music.

The ending pretty much is the melancholic and the "open" type which shows that the actual dark, more plot-heavy zone is on the way.

There are a lot of questions that hasn't been answered, so I'd guess this anime by itself, unfortunately, isn't a completed product unless it gets a sequel in the far future.

ALSO TEACHER HAS SAME EYES AS THE CAT IF ANYONE MISSED THAT!

of course this mans had to be manipulated by some other person. Here begins the hunt, yet again

so this season didn't really spark more interest in the series. thought it was mostly boring... Wasn't invested much in the Jeanne & Gevaudan thing that was happening. also felt like Kajiura didn't bring out her best in this anime (though last 3 episodes featured some good BGM).

From what i've heard, apparently this caught up to the manga so don't expect any sequel for the foreseeable future

Domi finally coming back to her senses saved this finale for me. She looked absolutely stunning while using those ice abilities.

Overall, definitely weaker than Part 1. The two arcs this Part featured were equally uninteresting to me and I'm pretty sure the fact of me hating both Mikhail and Astolfo with every fiber of my body had something to do with that.

"Thank you for watching the memories of Vanitas"

I think the episodes till now were his memories. the real thing is upcoming, i think so.

and also when Noe asked for Vanitas's hand, the scene was cut when he almost gave his hand to noe. this might also be a cliffhanger.

Interesting ending, but somewhat frustrating that they give us so many pieces of the mystery of the series, and even so we are far from understanding what the antagonists are planning :( or about what will happen with the protagonists and secondary
Vanitas and Noe make their "friendship" stronger but they had some good blows before that.

The construction of the world of this anime is quite striking, all this vampires and alchemy seems that there is still much more. The OST accompanied the work very well and the animation quality remained very constant.

Jun Mochizuki's character designs are still amazing as always (And speaking of Jun's style, I don't remember if in Pandora Hearts the moments of humor were so anticlimactic). And although I'm not a fan of flashbacks, it's interesting to learn more about each character, even if they were all very sentimental.

"why cant i kill you" WHEN I TELL YOU I BANGED MY HAND SO HARD ON THE TABLE. n vanitas did the same thing Bro.. maybe we're soulmates?🤔🧐 no but seriously fuck that. that scene was fucked up. who came up with that who directed that WHO DELIVERED THAT !!!!!!!!!!!! fucked me up so bad😭😭 and noe just apologizing. fmllllll. but of mikhail had to turn extra insane and just straight up got possessed. man i feel rly bad for the kid tho.

domi getting some closure there ohhhh my heart hurted.

when the sensei grandpa guy came on i just Screamed. icb he's ugly. like dude if you're creepy and call ppl "my little kittens" on a daily basis u could at least be cute. JOKING. OFC. that guy was so fucking creepy. and he was behind all this too? manipulated mikhail for all
this ???

that last part tho. noe coming up, mikhail crying and vaninoe leaning onto eachother. they did this before on the first part right? man. and then amelia going "the sun is up!" and while the screen didnt show the sun view, it panned into noe dashed in sunlight. Cried. (didnt really... but mentally? very much so.)

this cour was definitely muchh much better than the previous one, i enjoyed it a whole lot more, at least. and i alr liked the 1st one a lot so ! gonna be a hell while till we get a season 2 but im always gonna look forward to it. great work to everyone who made this possible :D

With that, the anime has caught up with the manga. Damn, definitely did not expect that before the season started. I thought they would be doing the beast of gevaudan arc for the whole season, but I am not mad at all as I got to see scenes I wanted to see animated earlier.

I recommend reading the manga though, as I personally think it's still better overall as the anime cut some things, plus the art is nice. I'd be wishing for another season, but I know it's gonna take a long while if we do get one. 8/10

Nice conclusion I suppose. It's a shame the first arc was such a bore. Not really because the content was boring, but more like I don't really know what the point was. Jeanne is still adorable, but overall I'd have to say this is a step down from the first half.

The first arc in particular just seemed to drag on forever while the introduction of cyborg boy completely lacks believability. Feels very much like it's barreling down the slope into generic battle shounen territory.

The final scene was just beautiful: the growth that Vanitas underwent this season and the culmination of that growth in the final scene where he finally is willing to trust someone besides himself and show affection to his bro was awesome.
