THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
kobato encounters a grumpy old man. turns out he wrote a children's book that kobato was reading and he told her not to read it. as it turns out the book had a history. also some drama with the nursery owner and some loan sharks.

they go ta bit lazy in the end credits and didn't put the new "candy" in the jar.

they have never been lazy at the end credits, if you go back to episode one you'll noticed it has always had two "candies" they have never added more as the episodes went by

Really?
I noticed there wasn't a 3rd either, but this was the first time I noticed them in the jar too.

I'm really loving this series.
It's so cute!
And the firefly scene was really nice.

I'm finding this series in a sense repetitive.

It's not horrible, but like...the main story doesn't seem to be getting particularly well-developed.

Aww this episode made me tear up a bit, despite the fact that I have issues with young girls meeting strange older men at the park during the night. For obvious reasons.

Kobato is too naive for her own good. Sadly, I actually know people my age who're like that >.>

Wasn't really diggin this anime since it's too girly but this episode had a well needed change of pace. Turns out it does have danger that affects the characters for a more real feel and I have a new found respect for Fujimoto.

Nice episode, but the first part has nothing to do with the second part of the show and it still has not been concluded

Manga related story is long, so it's not ended. The anime original story is finished.

I thought the exact same thing. {said out-loud during the ED} "Bums should have added a third peice of competto candy!"

Very sweet episode sure to cause tooth decay.

The problem at the nursery and the sorrows of Sayaka-sensei and Fujimoto are long-term, I suppose. I'd like to see more of Fujimoto too. But now knowing he's right next door to Kobato, there can be "endless" possibilities for development.

Is it just me or Kobato's screams sound like Nodame's sometimes?

"Kobato Ganbarimasu"...o_O it's the same as "Kyon-kun denwa"..ringing in my head now,

Can't believe that Fujimoto lives at the same apartment as Kobato, apart from that this episode is heartwarming episode again with sad background, Letter Bee x Kobato x Kimi ni Todoke make a good combo this season for some tears for me

So did Fujimoto always knew that Kobato moved in right next to him? I can understand Kobato never realizing this.

overall good episode.

It was a bit cliche, the story with Mori-san. Nonetheless, it wasn't bad. Those debt collectors... somehow, they remind me of yakuza members (probably because of their bully attitude). Anyways, looking forward to next week's episode.

Thanks, person who gave me this on another site a long time ago, lol.

Fujimoto was a badass in this episode!

I guess those thugs are part of the yakuza. I'm just wondering how Sayaka got involved with them.

BORING!
Not a single element of this episode took me by surprise. More annoying, though was that I just don't think she helped Mori.

I was hoping that the time limit would speed up the pace, but I guess not. I foresee some montages of her helping people while the jar fills up. They should have just made it a pez dispenser instead of such a huge flask.

An enjoyable episode. The old man's story was heartbreaking. D: I actually got sad during this episode. The firefly addition, very beautiful

I like Kobato, because she one of those optimistic characters that actually do something. Such as when she tried to defend Sayaka from that debt collector by acting as a barrier between the two. Sure it wasn't anything physical like a punch, but it was a lot more than what those types of characters would have done. :)

At first, this was just pretty lol, seeing as Kobato failed at reading a picture book xD

Then after a little while, things suddenly got interesting when the thugs came by.. And Kobato showed up another side to her usually clumsy persona xD

And that author's story was quite interesting as well, not to mention it was a sad one.

Actually I think this episode was way better than the previous, since it had some substance, while the previous one was kinda.. empty o.O

Our fireflies up around Cleveland, Ohio are super chill and just crawl on whatever touches them (easy to catch, lol).
And they don't hold their light, they just blink, which looks cooler, imo.
Lots show up around July.

Although we call them lightning bugs. :D
