THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I'm not too surprised that they won the elections, they really did well, and now Eins left Akiba but that end of episode was really interesting, Shiroe clearly impressed them. Next one seems to be about Krusty, nice. |

Leave it to Shiroe aka the villain in glasses aka geki of the east, he thoroughly defeated Eins and yet didn't let it leave a bitter relationship between them. Truly a genius. I knew he was gonna abuse that rule of the election but didn't think that would also make Touri Saigu withdraw. |

Opponent is good at speech. More voters entering. Their speech is not bad, either. He introduced the same and new members. The opponent left before result? They admit defeat. Main guy giving gifts to his opponent. |

Haha i love this show. Regardless if not a lot of people can appreciate the art in this especially when it comes to how politics work and the repercussions that all of this show will effect everyone as a whole it is still a very important element of the story and effect where it will go from now. To give a bit of context to explain what exactly happened for those who did not fully grasp it. Shiroe activating the Gate worked to establish in getting not only additional votes from his allies in Sussikino but the round table has now officially gained the support of the entire Sussikino region with all adventurers and people of land that have gone under Williams Silver Sword guild. Not only that But as Touri Saigu spoke off later in the ep, One of the major advantages Westlande had was they were pretty much the only ones who could use the Transport gate which allowed them control not only of Westeland but also the nine tails domain and could of been used as a strategic weapon to invade the other regions of Yamato. However with the gate now also under the round table control it can also work in reverse and Touri knows that if he were to allow Eins to win and still gain control of it, the senate would of seen it as an aggressive move and would of done rash actions that would further spark conflict and put all People of land and Adventurers in danger and force the civil war to go into full bloody conflicnt so they decided to withdraw. Eins as a person is by no means a bad guy, despite what people think, he really in his own way tried to address a lot of the problems the old round table could not solve mainly their was still dissatisfaction and disconnect between adventurers and people of the land and the misery of many adventurers who had no place to go, to do or wallow in misery, not to mention they were left bankrupt in researching the fairy ring system and did not gain much support from most of the other representatives as stated earlier each guild really only looked out for themselves mostly. So at the end of it all, as stated he still accomplished what he wanted. With the formation of the new round table and having Li-Gan, Kunie Clan and Rayneshia into the round table the people of the land now have a voice in Akiba and can feel actually safe and secure, the Adventurers who were leeching of Eins left and those that remained will be taken care off. Shopping street has now changed to a real commerce guild that can support the economy of people of the land and adventurers alike and form a stable government. The Parting gift shiroe gave to Einz was basically the deed that prevented anyone from either invading or take away the land where Eins left for and the Card is basically the unlimited kunie gold card, an item that allows one to spend as much gold without limit, which solves the financial difficulties that Eins guild lost most of their income researching the fairy ring system. So All of these problems have now been taking care off and has brought more balance to the nation as a whole. However this mostly solves the local problems that akiba and Eastal had before. The real Threat being the Genius Monsters as well as the fact that Plant Hwayden guild is still in a bit of a civil war needs to be addressed. Which is now where Shire and the rest will have to focus on. So yeah bottom line it was a great arc but not without its fault as it does just jump right into it and is dialogue heavy and maybe a little to difficult to grasp but it is still an enjoyable experience. As shown in the preview we will now go back to krusty and kanami's group in the next so from here on out, the series should feel more like it used too. So if u stuck around this long hoping to relive that same magic, it should pay off now. 9/10 |

I loved this episode. The political fight between Shiroe and Eins was great. It’s this type of content that makes Log Horizon great and separates it from other isekai. I like that even though he left town, Eins wasn’t bitter and he and Shiroe ended things on a positive note. The inclusion of the people of the land and Susskino into the round table is really good for the future development and prosperity of Akiba. |

Another great episode. Speeches by the candidates were great. I'm liking Rayneshia more and more each episode. Looks like we were right about Shiroe using the gates to bring more voters into Akiba. That along with forming a new council that will also include some prominent people of the land. Very interesting tactic but I did not except Eins to drop out just because the gates were reopened. Regardless it looks like the new round table will lead Akiba in a new direction that both of them can be proud of. And with that the arc is over. Next we're getting at least one Krusty episode which should be interesting but with the short runtime I'm not expecting the season to focus too much on him since all the other characters are on the other side of the world. I'm predicting 1 episode, maybe 2 as sort of a break/transition into whatever is next for Shiroe and his crew. I'm expecting Minori to play a role since she's still on the cover but did basically nothing in the first arc. Naotsugu and Nyanta too potentially. Bringing the old S1 team back together? |

Eins speech sure was interesting though that was overshadowed by the reactivation of the fairy gates that allowed among others the Silver sword guild that Shiroe helped back then. Rayneshia's speech though was much more impressive especially in drawing in the experiences she had with Krusty as part of it. The long overdue restructure of the round table was also pretty well thought out with the sage, Kinjo and Rayneshia's inclusion being the most noteworthy. The reactivation of the gates though while helpful in gaining victory for the round table also allowed them to gain an important tactical asset that can be used if the senate decides to invade. Shiroe's farewell gift to Eins though sure was generous but reflected well on his acceptance of his determination. Overall a calm ep that did well to conclude the election arc while also showing once again how much foresight Shiroe has with his plans. Curious though at how the new round table will act though. |

They were some really good speeches and honetly, it was all for the better of Akiba. Shiroe actually activated the Gate, quite a smart move. Eventho they won by the smallest of margins, it didn't really matter as Eins dropped out before the results were in. Good to see everyone is happy in the end. Not the most exciting arc, but not bad in the slightest. Seems focus will shift towards Krusty next week, I am pretty excited about that, seeing him in action on different continent. I appreciate these Akatsuki moments! |

Pretty solid episode, I knew that the 'anybody who shows up on the day' rule would be abused, I just figured it would be abused by both parties, not just Shiroe's side. The way they did so, attacking by both increasing their amount of votes and also eliminating the king's support, was a nice touch. I would be lying if it didn't feel at least a little anti-climactic. Would have liked to see votes being counted for tension's sake and whatnot. I'll fully admit that I was expecting this arc to last at least another episode for more detail. Therefore, I'm honestly not sure where the season goes from here. They have effectively reformed the round table, a lot of the key concerns of both parties are now being addressed. Is it war with Westlande? More Geniuses? Communicating with the moon? Looking forward to what's next. |

The election day ended up by Eins's admission of defeat, dropping out the competition to control Akiba. Nice and great conclusion, to be honestly, out of my mind with that kind of route. Its simple, yet, full of intricate. Its even no need more explanations about how Shiroe reactivated that gate. Its just only explained by, Kinjo helped the power-up sources, then, Regan and Roderick repaired it in a unison. Great. The destruction of the Round Table means a new reform: changing Honesty slot of place with Silver Sword from Susukino; placing Princess Rayneshia as a chairwoman, replacing Krusty old positions whose absent at the other continent; adding another People of the Land representation with Regan, and Kinjo to solidified the new form of Round Table conference. Okay, thats a nice conclusion over these arc. Once again, a great deal from Shiroe, a Sage in a white robe, Geki from the East, Villain in the glasses, Strategist, Tactician, Leader of the Log Horizon, 'My Lord', and many other titles. Holy shit! Eins end route was also nice, following that young lord truly a good trade among his dropped out. Win-win solution, ended up with a good relations with Shiroe too, as he gifted that slit-eye bastard a farewell valueable items. Anyway, the battle part of the LH may happen next. So, yeah, really looking forward to see the next episode, including that voluptuous woman group perspective .... |

Finally, the end of the election. 5 political episodes in a row without any actions or adventurings or exciting things....wow, almost half of the season spent for all that, I dont mind politics in anime but this is a bit too much considering this anime is set in a world full of monsters and adventurers lol xD Please, next episode, please have some actions. |

i kinda understand (might be a bit) the outline result of episode 5. but can anyone explain to me how the heck Shiroe could re-active fairy rings just like that? from the way i see it, Shiroe could re-active fairy rings since they turn off Akiba city barrier (which is way before Ains become a Duke) isn't this is pretty much deus ex machina? my big question is, why now? why he had to activate the portal right at election day. (while he could activate it way before) |

My initial thoughts watching this episode was "What is this naive, optimistic fraud of an election system?". An election were both sides, for the most part, play fair and truly care for the overall long-term results and not the short-term success? No straw man arguments or ad hominem attacks? How innocent and unrealistic...I thought. But with some more reflection, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I've just become so disenchanted by the ugly side of people that I see elections as purely machiavellian instead of what they are actually meant to represent. I honestly can't recall a single election I've taken part in, since childhood till adulthood, where the intentions were so pure. I laughed at how naive this episode initially seemed. Now, I realize, the joke's on me. It's laughable, in a pitying sort of laughter, that I felt scorn rather than love for something so bright and genuine. Maybe it is naive. But what's wrong with its hopeful naiveness where everyone wins? Definitely re-examined the organizations and groups I've been involved with and decided to to cut ties with them after realizing how the fakeness and selfishness of the groups, even if they are for bettering society, is unhealthy for me. This is a long rant; I doubt anyone will read this, but wow, I can't believe this episode just made me re-evaluate my paradigm for how collaborative groups should function. Going to go search for some better people and groups filled with less selfishness and more empathy now... |
And with this parting, My most beautiful dream dies inside me... But I tell you goodbye, For the rest of life, Even if I spend all life thinking about you. |

Honestly, I'm not too big on Finance & Politics but this episode ticked all of the boxes for me. I was thinking that the gates would backfire at first given the reputation of the Saijuu family but there's the obvious Senate obstacle that I missed out it seems. What an earnest and selfless election this was though, unreal if I'm to be frank. Shiroe stepping in after Rayneshia's great speech and dropping bomb after bomb was freakin' lit! Should've seen it coming but it's good to see that he went all guns blazing and even wished the runners-up good fortune in their future endeavors. Truly, quite the geki, isn't he lol? Akatsuki moments were really nice too, she's too adorable. Krusty-san next episode, boy I can't wait for the reunion between him and the Princess. Maybe the Queen's wish will be fulfilled too, or rather please do! |

So people be like "This season is boring bc of politics and idc about any of that" but hey....your life is governed by politics lo, people is really empty minded when it comes to read or only world building (talk, talk, talk). People don't liking REZERO, LOG HORIZON AND SLIME S2 cause they have a lot of talk. This season is awesome tbh, I wasn't expecting to go this far into politics and they are really managing it flawlessly. Hype to see what's coming! |

This anime started at a 9 out of sheer happiness for a third season, but has steadily lost a point every episode that's been nothing but talking still frames about things no one cares about and has zero impact on the story or world as a whole. Politics and world building have their place in stories, but they should not take up 100% of the episode, 5 episodes in a row. Especially when they're so incredibly shallow, unrealistic, and unimaginative as this.I wanted to drop this show 2 episodes ago but forced myself to make it this far. If the next episode preview is anything to go by, it looks like maybe my patience will be rewarded but we shall see how long that lasts... |

That was very underwhelming. I kept wondering if there's going to be any battles here or just the whole season is going to be all about politics? Cause that opening sure gives off a battle shounen vibe, while this whole time it's like a slice of life anime. |
