ok, im confused... didn't Shirley die? wtf? lelouch0809 said: Stoorainclaire said: i give 10/10 because this movie contain what I want. exceed my expectation tbh 1. CC x LL 2. Nunally finally meet lelouch 3. Zero epic entrance 4. Lelouch n suzaku finally settle down. but ofc there is lot of stuff that I really found less interesting...to be exact, dissapointed. such as: 1. Nunnaly reaction to lelouch is lacking...i though she cry like baby or joyful after meeting lelouch 2. wait what, shirley is alive???? but overall i give 10/10. i really didn't have that much expectation when it come to this movie. might as well doubt that lelouch is alive but this movie...really got me there... Shirley is alive because of Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch III - Oudou wait what? wasn't that just a condensed version of the series? or im seeing that the III movie changed some things? ps: damn, i forgot how waifu CC was, i guess i didn't w Kallen also, Shamna's guards<33333 |

...did they retcon Shirley's fate in the previous movies? When she appeared in here I was like "Wha-" Still not sure how should I feel about this, yay I guess? Finished watching: Re:Zero season 2 looks nice, Subaru somehow become a sexy blonde lady lol. Jokes aside, probably others have mentioned this before, but there's some point here that make this movie felt rushed af. Lelouch body's retrieval and initial resurrection could be expanded/properly shown, Lelouch and C2's plan on countering Queen Subaru's geass (cause witht he way show it on the movie, it felt like an asspull tbh), more backstory on the villain (mainly on the monarch sibling, like why is the little brother the way he is now?), also last but not least some more fanservice of how the rest of the cast are doing after Zero Requiem. Probably would have worked better as a single season series (10 to 12 episode) than a movie imo. Cmiiw isn't that was the initial plan, but got scrapped for some reason and got turned into this movie? Oh well, still enjoyable albeit confusing, especially for those who never watch the recap/rebuild movie and maybe the spinoff story. 7/10 I guess? Glad to see CC and LL ship sailed. |

As a Code Geass fan and a LL fan, this movie was a feast. This was the happy alternate end that concluded the hearts of those sorrowed by the original end to mellow. Quite happy that they made this possible. On the otherhand, the faceoff in this movie felt like a battle between someone who reads all the guides for the quest and someone who tries every method without relying on layed out plans and succeds. Superb heartfelt afterstory to the series. 10/10 |

Party time, opening of cafe zero #2. Trying to live peacefully, but there's a group attacking. The enemy keeps saying "as nee-san said" and got sister. Zero went missing. Green hair one traveling w. ... Lulu? He's alive but seems to be unstable. Aftermath of the power? There are three members who are searching for Zero and met up with her. The enemy w. the power... The reason for the travel is to get Lulu, who has no heart, back. They are all from the same group attacking and abducted sister (siblings). The boss is the "nee-san" using that power to foresee future. So Zero also got caught. The brother only can see black and white, and have to have goggle to see color. He is also on wheelchair... Getting in a jail? What they look for is the gate beneath it. King and queen still in a sphere in that space. Prisoners came back because were curious of their intention. Somehow getting caught made Lulu came back to normal. The place temporary Zero was caught was even under it. Lulu let him hit him. They were able to escape. He is now back as Zero and asking to cooperate w. the team who also wants to save his sister. Party time before war and seeing a video of marriage... the peace. Seems like it's not foreseen future, but reset 6 hours of her time. It seems like she also has justice for using the power, but using sister's life. It's the first time Lulu's plan failed. Assuming the enemy has the power and only give the green hair one alternative plans. Hacking on enemy team's connection. Meaningless "final". The queen keeps resetting her time. Lulu finally found out about her. Resetting the mistake vs. Future w. multiple mistakes put together. He let her sleep and not go back in time for a while. Sister's conscious in that world, though. Green hair one have a talk w. the queen. Saved outside and that place. Meteor? Sister understands him and wants him to be with her. He chose to travel, though, to get more people w. that same power. L2? |

In the end they managed to make the two main theories both true. Lelouch is alive theory. The body of Lelouch survived thanks to the code. Lelouch is dead theory. It wasn't planned to survive, so the zero requiem wasnt facade and he totally meant to die for the world. But his body couldn't die. (But his mind did) I think this movie was totally not needed. Useless moneygrab fanservice. And the plan of Lelouch against the time traveller was ridicolous and didn't make any sense. Also fucking shirley resurrected for WHAT??? She didn't do anything in the movie at all! I liked her character, but her resurrection was totally useless. Everything after R2 is useless and not needed. Still i enjoyed it, being a very big fan of the main series (Top 5), and also Lelouch being one of my favorite characters ever. 7/10 |

Welp, a fanservice movie and nothing more. Still good nonetheless but nowhere near the main series. It felt like I watched Lelouch and other Code Geass characters but in a different universe. The movie became a bit more shounen-que and too positive imo. I even went so far to watch those 3 recap movies before watching this because I've heard some things are changed but those "some things" turned out to be only "Shirley didn't die" for the purpose of ...nothing. She became non-related whatsoever to the main story and didn't do anything major in Resurrection so I dunno why they wanted to keep her alive. But oh well, this movie seems like revival to not only Lelouch but also CG franchise as a whole so I hope she'll be related in next works which'll be obvious milkings but I'll still bite. |

meh.. this was good and all.. but its nothing like the OG Code Geass which i had hoped for.. The movie does what a movie can.. But i think we seriously need a 2 cour anime of this movie because the movie literally went on whatever track it wanted without giving us anything to go on.. and Holy Hell.. Lelouch is alive.. just because.. NAZEH.. i will give 7/10.. But i enjoyed the (notsomuch) Recap movies more than this fanservice.. also.. Why Bother Keeping Shirley Alive? She is practically dead with less than 5 minutes of screen time IN 8.5 hours of this new timeline.. I seriously had a lot more hopes.. one of them being Resurrection of Lelouch being epic and being corrupt/altered and claiming to be 100th Emperor of the damned world again.. but nvm.. |

The Code Geass scored another 10 for me the greatness of this anime cleaves everything that is related to it. I don't care what other people say I want more Code Geass, and the ending is hinting on Code Geass After Story. I would like to see both LL and CC go in their adventure to stop all of the evil Geass users. |

Watching it while expecting your usual cash milk movie with fan service and does not dissappoint. I never expectd they gonna explore more lore and complicated shit to begin with. The movie is pretty well done as a fan service movie with its overall lite plot and nostalgic feels, while also open up a new alternate route and fan-theory. in 110 minute-ish they manage to do things quite well.they manage to make the characters feels like they really acustomed to peace at the beginning, a lot of cute interactions, seeing KoTR Knightframe back in action makes you hyped, and ofc, lelouch back with his shit again with our favorit 4d chess shenanigans, outsmarting a "reading-steiner" opponent, is just enjoyable. Gotta love the ending too, LL-CC is a bless, the ending cards were adorable(especially that Shirley contacting his lulu)+ lit ed song. True theres a lot of flaws just like the others has explained, but all in all, its a quite enjoyable and satisfying movie. 8/10 |

OK ,having just finished the movie i just want to say the it was very enjoyable although it felt a bit rushed ( 8.5/10 ) So, I saw people are STILL debating over whether the code theory holds truth or not so i thought Id throw my 2 cents . I am going to have to go with the code theory. I still believe Lelouch got the code from Charles . Although it was stated by C.C. in the movie this is further proof if you want . I do not know if this has been mentioned here yet but ,there are multiple instances in which if you pause the movie you can see a code mark on Lelouch s neck ( no I dont mean the red shiny one Im not blind ) Just pause any close up shot of Lelouch the most obvious being at 1:48:00. Hope this helps bring some peace to this discussion and I hope we get to learn more in the next movie/series . (SFMBE ) |

There is so much I want to say, but I must mention this first: there was no reason to keep Shirley alive. She should have stayed dead! I thought Suzaku would be the protagonist, but they actually revealed Lelouch as alive quite early on. It was a good decision since we all already knew he'd be alive. Still, showing him behave in a similar way to CC from season 2 was a nice touch. Murase Ayumu can sound so villainous as well. I have been falling more and more in love with him this year. The antagonists were actually quite likeable. The way Lelouch figured out the time travelling geass power and even managed to defeat it was mind blowing. I love how geass gets more and more supernatural every time we get a new season (or a film), but it still manages to be a hard magic system. (Though I also love the soft magic system from the World of C.) Lelouch's bluff was an awesome plan, and it is the kind of thing that can really make the enemies hesitate even when they consider the possibility of it being a bluff. Also, Cornelia is quite a genius to be able to understand exactly what Lelouch wanted. Shario wanted to fight because of the sacrifices his people made for him. That was kind of sad but cute, although I think it would have been better not to fight and get his people in any more danger. However, I understand that their country never even considered the possibility of a country without wars. Suzaku-and-Lelouch and CC-and-Lelouch were getting quite shippable. lol. Though I will admit that I like this anime because of an absence of romance. Apparently, I still don't like Nina. What she did to Table-kun can't be easily forgiven! Lelouch is now LL. I really thought they'd finally reveal CC's name. Damn, she's like Ciel Phantomhive! I really loved this film, but that was probably because I was expecting this to be horrible, which created the possibility of me loving it even if this had only been of a slightly average quality. I will have to properly think about this film to know if there were stuff I didn't like. This ended up raising a few more questions, which they are probably not planning to answer. During the credits scene, where everyone were walking, I noticed the lines around the bg characters shaking a little. That made me realise that they actually drew those characters instead of making them CG. I really love that they did that. |

Absolute gutter trash fanfiction level type of fanwankservice and I love it. Comes complete with OCs whose sole existence was to get utterly curbstomped by Lelouch, but of course only after putting up a convincing fight. Not a big fan of the time travel plot device, but I suppose it was decently executed. And did they have to give the obligatory nude scene to the OC? Should have taken a page out of SAO and give the fans what they want! Hell could have picked between CC or Kallen! Gratuitous ninja maid with a hint of bergemot loyalty makes for a fine tea. An AU movie is fine and all, but R2 ending fits the overall theme of Code Geass too well. That and this movie is almost a decade too late. 6/10! |

Pretty rushed but it wasn't bad by any means..i think if anything, most of what's wrong was simply due to the chosen format. Was it necessary? Not by a mile, but it was still a nice continuation. I'd of rather it a TV series than a movie format though as some things felt unnatural due to the format constraints..while we can infer that most of the important figures were informed of the Zero Requiem afterwards, it still felt rather odd how some characters like Cornellia and Ohgi got with the program so quickly after seeing Lelouch alive again. For a long time i was upset the story I have loved tremendously that had ended a decade ago would be continued, but after watching this I honestly would welcome further continuation as the after credits scene suggests. |

It wasn't really good tbh, but it was the characters that were fantastic as they remained the same. A few scenes made the entire world for me since I adore the series. Lelouch is so human while being so modest. You get to see him feel things because he just takes all the burden of the world to fix it. Which is what makes the ending so tragic. So when you get to see people interact with him after they realise what he has done, it gets to you. Seeing him smile at the wedding got to me. The ones that really got me was Kallen hugging him after he came back, Every scene with C.C and Suzaku telling him he missed him(I was like ah shit, Lulu really thought he hated him and everything, tried to make him happy by letting him kill him at the end. It was amazing, just what I needed). |

C.C being tsun Kallen being adorable. When Lelouch got back his mind it gave me adrenaline moment. Aside that it was rather enjoyable and very oddly emotional movie. Loved it. Can't wait to see more of it. Great characters, great little story arc. Although yeah, since it's movie then it wasn't as rich as series tend to be. |

I was waiting to see that L.L. I was afraid it won't happen. Now I'm satisfied. I should've watched 3 recaps before this instead of just summary of changes they did to the series. After such long time it was hard to recognize all the characters. I really wish we got more explaination what's the current state of Lulu and C World. Tho looking at that ending it seems just a matter of time before more comes out. |

I hated this movie. There were a lot of things wrong with the movie plot point by itself. And that's not getting into the fact that none of the scenes from the 2016 trailer appeared in the movie.(Idc if they call it a prank or not, the movie did not live up to the trailer's expectations)
The movie had some positives, like Sayoko having more screen time and such. However, they could have made a more complete and compelling story out of this. I wish they didn't resurrect Lelouch just to face only one villain and then be gone. The CG birthday drama already did that and better. Or alternatively, they could have left Lelouch dead instead of involving him in a story worse than most CG fanfics. Anyways, I am not accepting this as canon even within the AU. There are a lot of discrepancies even as story points, like how can Lelouch use both Code and Geass(which was already deemed impossible) and also how he got the Code from his dad(which was debunked when R2 ended by the creators themselves). Also how Shamna could mentally time travel seemed as a bit of a overreach, since in R2, Lelouch clearly said that no one can stop time, not even Rolo. This seems absurd to me, that time could be manipulated. That's my complaints about this movie, which I couldn't enjoy from the start since Lelouch being alive was hidden from the others by CC was a deal breaker for me. (YES, the cartdriver theory was also debunked and falsified 10 years, which makes this appearance even more uncalled for). I am just about done with Code Geass. I am gonna stick with the original series and not gonna stick with this character assassination they keep doing any longer. |
Without change,we end up becoming the very person we hate. I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was bound to lead me to a slow death. |

And that's not getting into the fact that none of the scenes from the 2016 trailer appeared in the movie.(Idc if they call it a prank or not, the movie did not live up to the trailer's expectations) That was described as a "conceptual" trailer. It's only a teaser, not footage from the film. Admittedly, seeing a few of those scenes would have been nice. [*]Shirley does not have a significant role in this movie and that is my first complaint. She was brought back to life for some important role, but seeing that she was used for nothing more than just a plot point just makes me mad That depends on your personal expectations. I didn't expect her to play a large role here and, frankly, giving her some peace instead of more suffering doesn't bother me. [*]C.C. trying to bring Lelouch back to life after all the stuff in R2 utterly wrecks the character development she had in R2. In R2, she wanted to die and transfer the code to someone before Ragnorak. Lelouch taught her to smile and try enjoying living life a little. Just resurrecting Lelouch for what seems to be over nothing but a contract means she hasn't matured over. let alone over any of the other characters. This topic is very open to debate, both now and way back in 2008. You're forgetting a key component: C.C.'s true wish was...to be loved. Dying was just an excuse, but not what she really wanted. Of course Lelouch said he would make her smile, but that phrase can be interpreted in various ways. Would it be enough for C.C. to smile one day and then live on for hundreds of years after Lelouch's death? The series says yes, but the movie says no. It can be argued in both directions. Especially since some of her last scenes during R2 (and the recap movies) were about her feeling emotions once again. [*]Lelouch conveniently going to Zilkisthan and conveniently resurrecting from the C's world in the nick of time seems hard to sell. Not even that, C's world being destroyed by Lelouch doesn't make sense(Refrain being one of the causes? WTF writers???). There is no romantic subplot but suddenly out of the blue, he proposes to C.C.. Atleast involve some romantic scenes beforehand. I would say you're not taking into consideration several small scenes with C.C. (and/or Lelouch) here. If you actually take those into account and recall the previous events between them, the subplot isn't as "out of the blue" as you have argued above. No, Refrain isn't involved. C.C. was asking a question rhetorically. Not answering it. C's World as a whole wasn't destroyed. It's more that the original rules were changed. [*]Kallen's character apologizing to Shanti is just so out of place in the film. Even more so, Rakshata's very own Watari house is just too much to process. I think they're just small lighthearted moments, so not a big deal. [*]Aside from Lelouch, there are not many other characters who show development. Especially Suzaku. We don't see Suzaku mature as Zero as much as we expect. I agree that they could have shown more of Suzaku, although we do get to see him worry about protecting the peace and making up for his defeat early in the film. Either way, I can agree it's a valid criticism. [*]And speaking of Lelouch, he does not act like Lelouch, but a jerk ass brought back from the dead. Whom I would call Ledouche. He doesn't take over task of being Zero even though he is quite good at it and also just neglects his own sister. I don't particularly see things that way. Lelouch already completed his character arc and the world has moved on after his death, so he feels out of place. Taking on the role of Zero forever isn't what he should do now, personally speaking, and I think seeing him stay with his sister would be sweet at first glance...but come close to a character regression for both of them. [*]Shamna and others, though they are great villains, their backstory is not explored. [*]They could have made a tv series instead of half-assing this story into a two hour time. I looked forward to more of the mind games and a straight forward explanation on how Lelouch was able to decipher those plans, but the movie moved quite fast to not take it seriously. Indeed, it would have been more interesting and in-depth if this were a series and not only a movie. That said, I think they explained what Lelouch did well enough. Anyways, I am not accepting this as canon even within the AU. There are a lot of discrepancies even as story points, like how can Lelouch use both Code and Geass(which was already deemed impossible) and also how he got the Code from his dad(which was debunked when R2 ended by the creators themselves). The World of C has different rules now, so that's allegedly the reason for the change. Both of the other claims are opinions, not statements of fact. Also how Shamna could mentally time travel seemed as a bit of a overreach, since in R2, Lelouch clearly said that no one can stop time, not even Rolo. This seems absurd to me, that time could be manipulated. Not exactly. All she's doing in sending information back to her own past self. Which, I suppose, technically creates a new timeline after each use. |

Ok, I've had literally 0 expectation for this "sequel", and while I was pretty sure it'd get messy, they really did a great job at making me utterly dumbfounded by the sheer amount of BS pulled throughout the movie. That being said, it sure is terrible, but simply because they picked the wrong format to make the continuation, or branching or whatever you wanna call. I just feel like it'd work much better at the typical TV format, but what do you know, it's all about money in the end. This movie feels exactly like how a recap would do LOL. The only thing enjoyable about this instance is any scene with C.C to me. Yeah a bit bias since I'm her fanboi but for real, she (literally) carried L.L in the most hilarious yet a bit tragic way possible. |

It's an easy 10/10 for me. But i don't understand one thing: why did they say Lelouch killed god? He didn't do that, that was charles goal, and he used god to kill charles before he could achive this. Was god still killed in the process then? Wouldn't have Charles then achive his goal of stagnation? Seems wierd, or was it a translation error? I'm also curious of which entity helped Lelouch in the world of C twice (apparently), was it his mother? Other then that, the movie was a solid explanation for the carrige scene in the end of the show. I wondered why they cut that carrige scene out in the end of the third recap movie, but it makes total sense thinking about it, that the carrige scene didn't happen until the end of the fourth movie. Especially since C.C. is wearing the same cloths and having the same toy with heir in the carrige scene like she wears and has when she leaves the village together with L.L., and since L.L needed to be more than a walking potato to drive that carrige. I guess the whole movie just explained the last scene of R2 well enough. If it's true that there will be more code geass to come I'm sure to watch it, but i hope it will be a 24 episodes anime again and not a movie, since it takes painfully long to wait for that, but i guess the superb animation quality makes up for that a little bit. |

I am going to have to go with the code theory. I still believe Lelouch got the code from Charles Half of this code, bingo, Sunrise. Fanmade code theory is debunked, Sunrise literally remixed it, Lelouch is dead and resurrected by CC, code cannot activate after his death, etc. He wasn't "resurrected by CC". C.C. explained what happend pretty well. The code theory is 100% accurate and correct. She said herself that she thought that Lelouch might have got his code from charles and wanted to see if he had. She then found him as a potato since the world of C. was fucked up, the code didn't work perfectly, hence why she needed to go on this quest to fix him. |

I was staving off watching this movie because of many reasons but I finally decided to get it out of the way and boy oh boy, my expectations were already low but I still felt massively let down / disappointed. Let me make some things clear, when this movie got announced it left a bad taste in my mouth because I think R2 ended perfectly and to me it made no sense to bring back Code Geass, so I thought this movie was nothing more than a cheap cash grab trying to bank on nostalgia. And then I ended up getting spoiled some bits of the movie and from that I already knew I wasn't going to like it, but decided it to watch it anyways since everyone and their mother was praising it. To put it simply this felt like an adaptation of a shitty Lelouch x CC tumblr fanfic, not to mention it was rushed as fuck. It's like Okouchi Ichiro and Taniguchi Gorou looked up the (incredibly shitty) Code Theory and decided "hey, we could use this" then thought up some shitty conflict and bam, this movie was made. I kinda enjoyed the "recap" movies since it was basically a re-watch of Code Geass with a few retcons, but this whole alternate timeline bullshit and this movie being the result of it was such a shitshow. I'll stick with my headcanon that Code Geass ended with R2 and that nothing else exists beyond that, because that's much better than accepting the atrocity that's going to be these "10 new years of Code Geass content" after this movie. Oh yeah, another thing I hated about this movie is that it brought out those fucking "Code Truthers" out of the bushes in full force. Those fucking nutjobs are so annoying with their incessant bullshiting and the fact that they're completely in denial about official info regarding their crappy conspiracy theory. Ugh, just kill me. |

welp too much characters crammed into the movie lol they should have made this like a 24 episodes TV series instead imo Shirley was there but do not have enough screen time at all ah well lets see this 10 year plan of Code Geass and see how LL and CC will end up in the end |

Although I did enjoy this movie I wish it had never been made. It ruins the all time best ending to an anime to date. Not to mention i feel none of the characters developed at all and I found the new plot to be predictable and boring at some parts. |

Lelouch's return was sublime. Hearing him order unscrupulous characters to die was nostalgic, especially after seeing Lelouch dwell in such a sorry state. Kallen's reunion with the treacherous prince was even more touching. Her sincerity, perhaps? Or was it Ami Koshimizu's voice acting? Nevertheless, Kallen's cry after Lelouch patted her head and she embraced Lelouch could truly be felt. Nostalgic reunions aside, I guess the plot was not that groundbreaking. It was enjoyable and I liked the open ending, though. The birth of L.L. C.C.'s smile was charming as well. It must have been centuries since she could last wear such an expression. |

After all these years, this movie felt like a much better resolution to the series. And I love that that deleted ending with Lelouch as the cart driver was technically canon for this lol And now Lelouch begins his immortal life as L2 wandering with C2. Is that some sort of hidden requirement for immortality that you have to have 2 of the same letter in your name? lol The post-credit scene was weird but I hope it's a teaser that we're not done with him yet. |

I remember my friend said how he wants a sequel for the series and I said that nah the ending was perfect and something else would ruin it and he said ''then we will pretend that sequel didnt happen'', so thats what I will do. Pretend it didnt happen because series ending was and will be perfect |
