I swear, that song is almost stuck in my head now..

Also, I feel like they may be concentrating a bit too much on Judy and Isuzu. I don't mind it much though. And of course, I think she should continue to play that music. Not a very impressive episode as pacing felt slow. But with these interpersonal buildups, the arc will probably get to its major parts soon. Tohya definitely knows something's up.

That's a shit load of wyverns.

That lady also goes along. That guitar thing can create electric guitar sound? The music talk leading to future talk and difference between the player and NPC, like there are 42 (limited) music for NPC.

lol~ Assassin girl reporting while rotating. Unable to connect, and dragon-type creatures... Can I suspect that the lady (voiced by Saito-san) is suspicious?

Bad thing happening to the group next?

GTFO

Log horizon is better plot wise, SAO is better action wise. SAO2 was better than SAO 2 and while I enjoyed SAO 2 to say its "way" better than log horizon means you only care about action and not about actual plot.

There's some interesting stuff hidden in this episode, but man did nothing really happen. When the outro song started playing I was like "What? There's no way it's been 20 minutes".

I'm not sure why there needed to be another concert scene though tbh - this conversation could have taken place after the last one and had the same result. And the scene with Shiroe was basically pointless aside from the blurb about not being able to contact Nyanta via telepathy.

The biggest reveal (imo) is that the shrine blocks telepathy which to me says this whole wyvern attack is a trap. Which I guess is sort of obvious but the pace lately has been so meandering that I almost forgot about the whole invasion thing.

Hopefully things pick up next episode, the title of the episode definitely would suggest it but maybe half the episode will cut back to what Marie is up to or something. *Eyeroll*

Isuzu did said she was just an amateur, so I'm presuming her skill (or lack thereof) is intentional.

No, I don't think that is the point. He just knows that she is always faking a smile, and since he likes her, this bothers him. He wants her to be honest about her feelings. I am guessing that the author will tie this back into when Tohya was hospitalized: he probably is well experienced with fake smiles masking either pain or the truth all too well.

I agree that the Shiroe scene and the concert were redundant, the former was probably because they had to insert the two main voice actors somewhere into the episode and the latter probably has to do with a request from the CD producer. Environmental reasons like those are usually the reason for things being tacked on.

But still an interesting episode, looking forward to the Odyssey Knights next episode, as well as our learning how the wyvern were herded into that attack (next episode is "Red Night", which is the name of the PH campaign, so obviously a connection). My guess is that the portable cathedral is the cause, though I think the OK are being used in this case.

Daniella and Tohya's conversation was interesting, Tohya in his frank way just torpedoed her weak point, so I want to see how that develops. She has always tricked people by her looks, keeping them from seeing the facade beneath her, Tohya is probably the first person who has looked on her core being.

Looks like next episode will have Nyanta back in the spotlight, which is good, he has been underused far too long.

Nice episode, but I am glad they are ratcheting things up next episode, they need to do that every once in a while as well.

Rudy and Isuzu's conversation was pretty boring for the most part until the matter of "forty-two" songs was brought up; making Isuzu realize that she also needs to think about her own future.

Tohya is more straightforward than I thought! Dariella probably didn't expect he'd be the one to tell her about the fake way she presents herself. Way to go!

That Instant Cathedral seems to be interfering with the telepathy. That'd explain why Shiroe hasn't been getting any report from Nyanta lately.

Decent episode. Next one will be pretty epic with the battle against tons of Wyvern!

It fits perfectly, right? I mean, 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything :P

And while that scene was indeed pointless, Akatsuki wins this ep. Dem feminine skillz.

Laughed so hard at Akatsuki's pride in gleaning information with her "feminine skills", which pretty much amounted to going out with friends and having "girl's talks". Someone please make a gif of her twirling on the ceiling please, I gotta infinite loop that shit XD

Nyanta-san is looking out for his waifu Serara. I wonder just how they're going to get out of this crisis though. Even for those Knights, I think such a huge pack of wyverns should pose a big problem for them. I'm finding it difficult to figure out what Nureha and her guild are trying to do here.

You know what would be a great plot twist on this show?

Nyanta is actually spying for Nureha's guild all along and he is just pretending to be part of Log Horizon.

Nureha will have the group killed again and again with the portable cathedrals and once they lose their sanity she will return them to Shiro so that she can hurt Shiro mentally.

All the happy themes of log horizon will then go down the drain and Shiro is gonna become ruthless to have his revenge on Nureha.

Or maybe it's 42 theme songs? Not including things like BGM's of dungeons/towns etc. Because when you think about it, when they walk around on their day to day business they don't just hear music constantly piping into their ears...

Man that would drive anyone and everyone insane.

This episode might seem slow at first but I can't say I found it boring, and I respect how they paced it. They explanation of "42" and "seven"(rainbow) and such were not too long-winded but they were placed between other things that slowly built up the concept of the different languages and lifestyles of "people of the land" versus adventurers, and how that might play out in the long run.

These characters that we had almost forgotten about are expanded some more, showing the backstory, whilst also building up to the hidden facts about the new tech ("mobile cathedral"); if it can block telepathy then might this be used as some sort of weapon against the adventurers?

Also, something that has been bothering me for a while: why don't more people of the land want the immortality afforded by the spell that forcibly makes them adventurers? Even if not the common person, at least the archmages and such should be very interested in it, like the one talking to Shiroe in Season 1... which is why I was happy to see them talk about sharing information when "the dog" disappears from the party.

Next episode is looking like it will be action-filled, thankfully, but this episode was well done in terms fo fleshing out some details and setting up the story.

I have a feeling next episode will be packed with a lot of revelations as well, such as whether it is really possible to return to the "real world" and if the novasphere (mentioned briefly a few episodes ago) can be over-ridden from within the actual game world.

SO another 5/5 for me.

Counter-action rising --

um, yeah, sorry, sometimes my mind picks up a "radio wave".

Finally! I got damn excited with that scene of the wyverns, the movement of the individuals within the mob was well done. I got annoyed at the last couple of episodes which seemed so filler like, but this episode had some world building (auto translator, 42 songs, expanded information on the People of the Land), and that was nice. I like the pairing of Rudy and Isuzu, but their conversation was really good. Rudy is great during those times. And also the blocking of telepathy is kind of a plot-convenience card, but it's nicely done and will likely play an important role in the future. Nyanta showing up was unexpected and exciting too.

The preview looks to have some heavier stuff, so I'm looking forward to next episode! (Been a while since I felt that way!)

Hopefully this means S2 will have a strong ending. <3

I don't know if this was explained anywhere, but my guess would be that since it has only happened once, no one really believes it was done at all; also, the people of the land have been extremely conservative and lacking in imagination (they never thought of creating a 43rd song makes that clear, as did the Kurie clan), of course this is because they are still suffering from the effects of only achieving free will after the Apocalypse. Also, most of the powerful NPCs have disappeared (the Izumo Knights for instance), so this reduces many of the people who would want to achieve the status.

That I would say is a definite yes. The title of the current novel being written ノウアスフィアの開墾 or "Cultivating the Novasphere" would definitely indicate that. I think "novasphere" is really a corruption of noosphere, which would indicate that it should be possible (though the game is not a game)

The second season has literally nothing benificial to the plot. Season 1 and 2 are completely different anime. I think at times wondering if this is worth watching.
