I'm a 30 something year old, and I’m addicted to Japanese cartoons.

How i rate --
There are a lot of factors that come into affect when i rate animes i watch. I know some people take into affect how the numbers were in Japan, or in the US, or manga sales. That's all fine to me because i feel everyone rates differently and has different preferences and likes/dislikes. Just because i like a series or recommend a series, doesn't mean its god's gift to mankind or anything like that. Remember this are my personal opinions.
There are a different factors to me that make a series good, and what i rate it.
First; OST (Original Soundtrack)
Now by no means does this make a good series a 5 because the music sucked, or a bad series a 8 because i wanted to put the OST on loop and listen to it all day. But with that being said a great OST really makes a good series just that more enjoyable to watch when the protagonist and antagonist meet for the first time.
Second; Personalities
This one is a biggie. A good mix of good character personalities is a must for me, and i don't think its hard to accomplish this. A lot of series, even the more serious series have a plethora of characters, some even having multiple personalities. If we had a show with 10 Gasai Yunos or Lucys, the show just wouldn't be interesting to watch. When they meld well together it really brings a show together.
Third; Story line/Direction
This is another big one. I'm going to use Bleach for an example. This overall is a good show, and i cant say that it is a "great" or "masterpiece" of a show because of one main reason. Filler. This is a show that i feel started off very strong, but within 3 seasons or so it already had a full season of just filler. Now i know every show has filler now and then, and its hard for a long series to go years without even a single episode of filler, but Bleach had about every other season being filler. This failed as far as the direction goes. The main story line was really good. But when you go from full seasons of filler, to 2-3 episodes of filler making me wait weeks before i can see a episode I've been waiting a LONG time for, that really is frustrating. If you've watched the series, I'm talking about the final battle between Ichigo and Azien.
Finally; a good mix between serious and lighthearted story.
Now i can watch certain series like Another without any type of romantic issue, or anything in the series to actually make me smile and be contempt with the series, but (expectantly for the longer series 50+) I really look for that romantic happiness and comedy/fun in the series. High School DxD is a great example of this. It can go from a series battle, to Issei using an ability to blow women's clothes off or Rias telling Issei she is happy she met him. I seriously cant get enough of this show. But then there are some shows that don't have a well enough balance of these, and i loose interest after watching only a few episodes.
Now a quick numbers breakdown.
10s --
This is a show i could sit down and watch or rewatch time and time again. It is absolutely perfect to me and i cant find a single thing wrong with it. Loved the charterers, story line and music. Made me laugh, cry, and everything in between. I am not very liberal with 10s, i feel they are reserved for something very memorial to me, being now or when i was younger.
9s --
This is a great show. I most likely have this show either on my computer or on DVD ready to watch on a rainy day just like a 10. I may of been annoyed with some characters or voice acting or maybe just a little too much filler for my taste. Still overall still a show i could easily sit down and rewatch.
8s --
This is a good show. May of been a few things off or a few things dragged out, but still overall enjoyed the show. Would most likely rewatch it if i had extra time on my hands and would recommend this show to someone who liked the same genre.
7s --
This series was pretty good. This is honestly what my minimal rating for a show i can watch and enjoy and/or rewatch. While watching it i did enjoy it, but it may not of been something in the same genre as my favorite animes.
6s --
I can watch these and enjoy them, but most likely ill never rewatch or the rewatch value is very low. They might of had several flaws as far as plot or characters, or maybe a voice actor that just got on my nerves.
5s --
If someone held a gun to my head, id watch these without complaining. The balance between the few things i look for are not there. Way too much filler, could not relate to any characters, and did not enjoy any music. Would not recommend.
4s - 1s
These i save depending on how much i hated the series. There is nothing i could enjoy about this series and on the VERY rare occasion i will actually finish this series. Most will be dropped within 5 episodes. Would recommend to stay away from this series by any means necessary.

I thought you might like Nora being weird. She kinda reminds me of Yuno.
But anyway, there's so much plot this time around! The first season was really casual and a good setup, but it was like this season is the real main event. I didn't dislike season one, but I wasn't impressed with it either. I liked the characters but it felt like a supernatural slice of life.
I actually tried to watch High School DxD last night, but I kept getting error messages when starting the video, so I didn't watch any. I'll try again today, I suppose... on my laptop rather than my WiiU. I was a little lazy yesterday. Oops~
Also, don't knock sleeping. I love sleeping.
I did watch Gunslinger Statos and I really liked it! It looks pretty promising. Honestly it feels just like an Atlus game, which it is. I'd like to play the game once I finish it.
You were correct. I did like those Sailor Moon pictures. My favorite one is most of them. That Sailor Pluto one may just become my Facebook cover photo. Thanks for the link, senpai.
Um, so I really like Mirai Nikki a lot. I think psychological/thriller is my new favorite genre. I'm going to search for everything like this. We should watch Monster together... over the course of like, seven Saturdays. Forget High School DxD. ;D
But actually because this is a fairly standard profile style for MAL. The big thing is that I also used a 3x2 grid for my additional favorites. If (/when) I had (/have) more favorites, I would have different dimensions.

And suddenly this bullshit happens. I came here to have a good time and honestly I feel so attacked right now.
