| Nice NGE references ~ I really liked this one even if there was a lot of fanservice ^^ I'm not really fond of the music though. I just hope that the people who discovered Animator Expo with this short will also take the time to watch the others episodes :3 |

If the main conflict is "just" that he's a hikikomori, then it wouldn't, in my opinion, warrant such strong imagery. I think that his regression into hikikomori-hood was caused by a specific traumatic event involving a specific girl—like, for example, his ex girlfriend committing suicide because he left her, or maybe something less dark, lol. Really like/agree with this interpretation: When I see the girl burning up, falling into an abyss, etc, that says she's not just "out of reach", but gone. Another random trail of thought: Maybe, as a coping mechanism, he is purposefully attempting to delude himself into believing that the girl is still alive, by obsessively immersing himself in fantasy. In this case, the masked girl would be the embodiment of his delusion. Which makes for a fun reading of the last scene, where the masked girl kisses him. At any rate, this short is awesome and I love it. |

| Came across this without any prior knowledge about this weekly shortfilm project. Stumbled upon this vid without knowing it was studio khara and assumed it was fan made, so I was in for a bit of a shock once things turned dark. :O Awesome animation, OST and message behind this! |
| This theory is also nice: "t's supposed to be about how peoples' increasing fascination with fucked up kinks after watching Anime and REALLY fucked up hentai are eating them up and ruining their lives. The guy had a girlfriend that he had a falling out with because his fucked up fetishes made him incompatible with her. The video starts with harmless ecchi and lewd shots and progresses to fucked up fetishes such as the girl vomiting into his mouth and him being crushed by tits, etc, and ends with him being literally eaten alive by his addiction." |

| Great commentary on otaku culture. This isn't just about boobs and overly sexualized women. It's so funny to me that this video already has a 'fandom' with sexy fanart and people wanting it to be a 'real anime', like they literally missed the point of the video. Also people who don't come further than "what the fuck is this?" "what drugs did they take while making this?" "I don't get it but I liked the girls though" like... smh. |
