| This show is inspired after The Ren and Stimpy show and Invader Zim. They even taked Gir from Zim as Chuck the dog. The art style looks almost like Dead Leaves. What I liked and didn't liked: the transformation, the dirty harry line, the car chase. The poo gags ( they tried too much to make sick humor but failed), the puke( c'mon purple puke?). Until now this show didn't maked me laugh so not sure wether I like it or not but I'll continue watching. |

| Didn't expect to enjoy it at all, seeing as it looked like more Gainax hipster bullshit (See: TTGL). But I was pleasantly surprised in how much of a visual treat it is, regardless of it's tasteless nature. I think some of the criticism comes from the first half of the episode, which wasn't nearly as good as the second half. |

First of all, Zac=/=god's official messenger for anime and I really hate when people quote him as if his and other ANN reviewers' word is law. He gave Arakawa Under the Bridge and B Gata H Kei low scores and I loved each one. There's a lot with Zac I agree and disagree with and just because he writes reviews does not mean he speaks for the common consensus. Second of all, they say in the preview guide that it is a preview. That means that's just to give you an idea. It's more important that people see it for themselves. Third, we've seen a guy getting around everywhere. We rarely see it with girls. |

Maybe, and just maybe, it's the thudding double entendres you mentioned, coupled with vulgarity on a level that is somewhat shocking in a culture where this is not expected of women, much less angels? | Dude, that's the first time I've ever quoted someone from ANN and all I said was he put it best. I disagreed with his opinion on B Gata H Kei as well, he just happened to say it much better than I could have. Did you read my earlier post? I stopped at about the 18 minute mark. A harem is different from this. Panty is a part of a gag where it's supposed to be funny that she sleeps around. That's a pretty rare gag amongst male protagonists in anime. Humor is a subjective thing, Gangler. If I have to try to decipher a comedian's intentions when hearing a joke, chances are it's not funny to me. I enjoy toilet humor as well (I love Borat and Detroit Metal City), but this one just flat out blew chunks to me. |

You've probably already heard this but the second half of the show was much better. If I'm being honest the humor wasn't my cup of tea either. It's been my opinion for a while that the gurren lagann teams humor is good enough to be sprinkled throughout high octane adventures but should never be the meat of the product. I was originally just poking fun at the notion that panty is a slut. Thus far she's only had sex with single adults under the proper consensual understanding. That's not slutty, just sexy and a little bit empowered. It's not even as if she's overly promiscuous. If we compare it to their previous works she may very well be the most modestly dressed female they have ever designed. |

| Everyone noticed this immediately. Also, after a while, I am kind of disappointed in this Chuck, it does Gir no justice. Gir is awesome and worthy of his fanbase. Chuck is just an annoying character used for punching bag comic relief for the protagonists. |

| Well, I guess I'll be one of the few people who will say that this didn't do much for me with its first episode. Toilet humor is rarely ever funny and here, it definitely wasn't. Second half was better, but it didn't really make me feel; like I watched something awesome, just something different. I'll give it a try till episode 3, but if it doesn't grab me by then, I'll have one less show to watch this season. |

Speak for yourself. I found the humor entertaining - Maybe not hilarious, I never cried laughing or even laughed extensively at all but the humor wasn't the only thing there. The show was packed from start to finish and there was never a dull moment, I like that. It is definitely one of the more unique anime maybe even from just the style turning away from the usual moe/cute style. In other words, not for everyone. I imagine people who enjoy South Park would like this for some reason. |

It's pretty lame if you think having graphic scenes makes an anime "artificially deep".
