VIDIO Early Airing.

Well, after the whole nuclear plant thing went nowhere last episode, onto our next lead that this time around Doug "find". I say "find" because well he doesn't really "find" anything, I mean it's as simple as him talking about his former mentor being a former colleague of Skinner's. They aren't the only ones searching for clues though, just like last time the gang splits up into two, with Axel and Doug going to find that aforementioned colleague, and Leland and Wifey just go straight to Skinner's house...

... Which, would ya guess, leads to nothing lmao.

It does make for some good moments between the two, which so far is probably this show's strongest point, the character and how they interact that is. But yeah, back to Axel and Doug, where they find Doug's mentor... who is now homeless. Great. We're in the slums, so might as well hoop it up on the court... where Axel does probably the BIGGEST foul I've seen in recent memory, like ref... DO SOMETHING. That dunk on the bro was tuff though lmao.

But yeah, Doug's mentor actually ends up being useful, and they learn that Skinner's grandma is actually in some place in Turkey... one of the most dangerous places in Turkey that is lol. And yeah, you know how that ends up, dangerous is Axel's middle name, and he legit waste no time getting into a chase/fight with the pedestrians of the town. After that little scuffle though, (surprised it was so short tbh lol) they head to Skinner's grandma's place where we get "some" backstory of Skinner, who yeah, was just your average person that loved his grandma. Doesn't lead much anywhere, except for whatever that last scene was where Axel find the camera hidden there.... which seems like is finally A we have been trying to find.

This was an amazing episode for a couple reasons. The hunt for Skinner continues to intensify, we’re as close as anyone has been in years to finding him thanks to that Istanbul intel, but the more this show goes on, it’s clear that he’s not the monster he’s been made out to be.

Growing up is accepting that Skinner did nothing wrong and humanity clearly deserved to get wiped out if they were doing it to themselves and destroying the planet. You look at that video he sent his grandmother and this isn’t a dude who harbors any sort of ill-will towards anyone. Dude got laughed out a UN climate change meeting because he had the audacity to hold the biggest polluters to account.

But what made this episode amazing for me was the fact in a fucking anime, I just saw two characters have a discussion about and bond over the discrimination that Black people and transgenders face in society. That Doug convo damn near brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you Watanabe. Means the world to me. Always been an ally.

Hearing the call to prayer in Istanbul was also a dope moment, but LMAO at Leland wearing a Saudi outfit in Turkey ๐Ÿ˜‚ not all Muslims are Arabs bro.

Didn’t have a ton of action in this episode, but when we did get it, it was dope. Axel vs the hoodlums was awesome, you can feel Chad’s touch all over this series.

Baited the hacker award. I’m surprised Skinner’s partner fell for that Axel bait. Can’t wait for next episode to hopefully get some more on him.

@Marinate1016 Looks like someone's big boy pants just arrived in the mail.

I'm wondering if Skinner is going to turn out to be a favorite villain for the anime community. Can't wait to see how the series ends, lol.

Axel and Doug paired up to look for Claude Klein, while Christine and Leland went to investigate Skinner’s house, and Eleina stayed behind to track down the other two hackers.

During Axel and Doug’s search, they ran into Skinner ๐Ÿ˜ญ—he was right there, dude! Right in front of you, lol. Meanwhile, it looks like Christine and Leland have recovered the antidote for Hapuna. It’d be really funny if that turned out to be Skinner and Hapuna.

Skinner was never really an evil scientist or a bad person—he’s just the kind of villain we need to actually change this world for the better.

3 episodes in and I'm not really sure what to make of this show. The writing is really amateurish, and that was glaring in this episode. The English dub is painfully dull. I still have no clue why half of the team are even there. What does the blonde kid do? What about Christine? Is Doug just the driver? The only two I know of who have any skills are Axel and Eleina. We don't need to know everyone's backstories right away, but they should of at least shown off their skills or given us a reason they were chosen.

Then you have instances like when they were faking being cleaners, and "sending them the bill" is the best thing they could come up with? Why not just flash some government badge and say they're detectives? Doesn't even have to say Lazarus. It just kind of feels like I'm watching nothing at times, because it feels like we're going nowhere.

Edit: After quickly going through it a second time, I noticed one of the homeless guys looks exactly like Skinner. Doug didn't make that connection at all? Not doing your speech in the tent any favors there, Doug.

@KM_31 No one will most likely die lol It'll end with people wrecking chaos and destroying things for capitalist motives, then we'll learn that Skinner was already dead by the first episode, and a video message from him will pop up saying stuff like "I did it so that you'd know how precious this planet was. If I didn't pull this off, no one would give attention to issues like climate change and racism."

My theory from last week was wrong after all. The Skinner doppelgangers were just hacked cameras, not very brave public impersonators. Elaina's theory about who did it is something I approve of. Simply because that Doctor909 guy has a username that is similar to what I use on other websites. Has to be the one behind this!

Dessert has brought us one step closer to solving the mystery of Skinners location, and kept Leland's arm from being cut off. Nice job making such a tasty baklava, Grandma Skinner.

i know they only have 13 eps to get through this story... but they basically wasted ep2 with a total red-herring dead-end lead on that 'disaster shelter community'... but here in ep3? the clues just dropped like mana from heaven.. way way too easy.

one team member just happens to have an old mentor who worked with Skinner years ago... that mentor just happened to remember one avid debate about a Turkish dessert gramma Skinner used to make... annnd said mentor remembers gramma just happens to live in Istanbul... the team just happens to start searching in a neighborhood so slummy there's no CCTV cameras... annnd the two team-members sent to said area just happen to run into a street gang who knows gramma Skinner... who just happens to be such a sweet old lady she'll divulge all her info on her grandson... and one team member just happens to look for hidden surveillance equipment and lo n behold?! finds a camera!

while the other pair on the team sent to Skinner's house uses the stupidest and easiest con to see through to get past the 'County Mounties' guarding the entrance to the house... yeahhh... your cleaning service is going to charge TWO COPS guarding a world-wide manhunt suspect's house for a cancelation? without showing a work order, or a memo from the police or anybody? bulllllllllshiiiiiiiiiittttt! giant skyscraper tall pile of cow-dung! annnd after the Feebies annnd eeeeeeverybody else in the Alphabet Soup of Agencies turns Skinner's house UPSIDE DOWN... but still leaves it PRISTINE CLEAN AND NEAT!!!! but misses ONE PILL so easily found the team member 'oopsie, what's this?' at the very edge of the back and seat couch cushions??????

this episode is so filled with DOH! moments... i felt like it was a Homer Simpson compilation techno-house music-AMV.

A hacker other than the one on the Lazarus team is helping Skinner cover his tracks by hacking the cameras with deepfakes of Skinner's image. Seeing all those homeless people makes me thankful that I have a roof over my head with a warm bed to sleep in. Axel got some serious moves on the court against the guy that was trying to hustle Axel out of a 1 on 1 basketball game. The search takes the to Istanbul to visit Skinner's grandmother and her well know baklava only to know that someone is keeping an eye on Skinner's grandmother, probably the hacker that is assisting Skinner. I want to try some baklava.

I have a sinking feeling that this anime is going to pull a "Netflix Devil May Cry'' and get all political towards the end. Whatever that will lead to would most likely serve as a basis for Skinner's intention to wipe out humanity.

@KiliianSleipnir The fact that everyone has used the drug is what's unrealistic to me. You mean to tell me that every single human being on the face of the planet has tried Hapna before??? What about infants, what about people who don't have access to the drug?

There's no way that every single person has tried it.

3 episodes in and I just...can't seem to get into the show..it's written in a very childish manner...it comes off flat. this is my personal opinion and I'm not hating but I thought I'll give this the 4 episode try oit and I honestly could not get into the show at all.
the only interesting aspect of the show is Dr. Skinner for me and yes the animation and soundtrack are great.
like, why are these people special? they don't stand out to me. one flies drones, ones a hacker, one can use guns, one does Parkour and the last one can drive cars and listens to good music. I don't see the appeal. also I felt they tried hard to make the parkour guy come off as unhinged genius sort but all I've been able to say is he's dumb. dude got 3 year jail time, multiplied it to 888 years for fun? then he got hold of the blondie, threatening to hurt her if they don't let him go and it takes kike 5 seconds for the dude to be like, "ok I'll work for youll"
they have been trying to show there's something pretty great about this group but it comes off as shallow and childish.
it's like yeah, stuffs happening but it's not...why r they looking for Skinner specifically? what if the antidote isn't even affective? will every person even get the antidote?
the show tries to be something unique bit but writing and characterisation is amateur and I feel I wasted my time. I'm not gonna watch I'll probably just check the ending once it's done.

Very interesting episode with them still searching Skinner, but it's also a pretext to give more backstory elements to some characters and show how they work as a duo, I think I like Doug the most so far. Also now Axel and Leland are in Turkey with Skinner's grandmother and it seems like Skinner is watching them and that he's also in Turkey himself or in another similar country.

Did anyone else Shout at the screen when they saw Skinner like “OH MY GOD HE’S RIGHT THERE USE YOUR EYES!!!!” Cuz that’s what I said.

Also I think that Every episode’s intro there’s gonna be a different Lazarus member talk about their experience with Hapna. Cuz episode 2 was Leland’s Experience and now episode 3 is Chris’s experience. If only she realized what would happen many years after she took Hapna. if only her thoughts she said out loud answered her earlier. But now she’s in deep with the other Lazarus members.

This show is meh at best. Hopefully the Japanese don’t buy into the American woke nonsense as two more pet ideologies were introduced. Well it’s a show produced for an American company (Williams Street) shown on an American network (Adult Swim).

It’s a karate-kid Conan who joined the Suicide Squad and are playing a PS-5 game to save the world. MAPPA is doing a fine job but any higher end company could have done this as MAPPA’s talents are being used underutilized.

Hopefully it gets better than now. Weekly clue chasing isn’t what I expected. I tend to not watch detective shows with a few exceptions, not that anyone gives a crap ๐Ÿคฃ

I also think Skinner is not that kind of guy that plan to end humanity.

But more importantly, I love how Axel and Jill hug. I love the honesty in Axel's uncomfortable face that's like "I don't know who's hugging me right now", and after he realized that it's Jerry, which is now Jill, he immediately wish her a happiness. It's a minor detail like this that convince me. If Axel is a kind of person who's happy to hug anyone even with a person he doesn't know, then it I'd think of him as a person that don't know what's a personal space is rather than a person with open mind.

Do you think I've a chance to date Axel?

The trans thread was funny, in the sense that it was done in such an American style, i.e. "oh look, I'm a stereotypical trans and that's what my whole character is about" xD plus that bottle in the back that looked like a trans flag XDD

I don't like this anime...the antagonist's motif, the animation and the action choreography are the only good things about this series.

Apart from the blandness of the characters and the boring way this search is conducted, three things bother me (I don't think much about this series so it's possible that I missed something):

-Why are only 5 people looking for a guy on whom the fate of the world depends? Shouldn't it be like this that literally an entire army of people are looking for him? All the world's governments should be maximally involved in finding this man, they probably do it off-screen, but why aren't our protagonists part of all these activities?

-What possibilities do our protagonists have? on the one hand, MC was pardoned from a sentence of several hundred years in prison so that he could help in the search for this Skinner, and on the other hand, in this episode the protagonists have to disguise themselves as cleaners to bypass the police and enter some house XD not to mention that this scene was simply stupid and naive.

-Why is society so calm in the face of destruction? Were the writers too lazy to spend some time building a believable world? You really don't feel that the stakes are that high and everything looks like it's a normal day.

Will it too suffer the bane of the original series?

The episode was really nice, I liked its pace and atmosphere. Especially, seeing my own country Turkey in the anime was a separate pleasure. That our culture is included in such productions is a source of pride but I want to note a small point: Turks do not wear Arab clothing ๐Ÿ™‚ Nevertheless, if one day your path falls, you must definitely try real Turkish baklava and tea!

"Oh no muh pwecious animu has a black character talking about racial bias in higher education that he personally dealt with and a transgender character, numbah one Nippon supremacy is now dead because they're pAnDeRiNg to the WOKE Western audience agenda REEEEEEE ๐Ÿคฌ" Holy fuck I miss when this site was free of the buzzword-filled brain rot bullshit that now plagues Twitter ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Anyway, I'm glad it seems like the plot is starting to progress a little more. And fuck, that baklava looked divine.

People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL has literally become a brain dead extension of the worst and most moronic aspects of Twitter ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Very interesting. We're looking for more clues about Dr. Skinner, and in that pursuit, we have been to different places and met different people. Jill was very nice and she knows Axel pretty well. We're looking for Dr. Skinner's background info. from people he knew, but we're also getting more info on these characters that we're following. Everyone has a different personality, and that makes them quite enjoyable. Christine is so pretty. Also, like Jill explained, Axel indeed feels like a mysterious guy. Want to know more about him. I'm sure we'll get more. And, what if the med that Christine took is indeed the cure? LOL

Also, Baklava from Bilinda looked very delicious and seemed like Dr Skinner was a normal dude after all. I wonder what changed? Was it gradual or sudden? Axel talking into the camera in the end was cool. Another very enjoyable episode. We're slowly building up towards the eventual bigger picture here, which makes this that much more enjoyable.

Also, the running gag of the Police Officer from the first episode is very funny. LOL. He's always there.
