Well, Yuina's life won't be the same after encountering that weird frog. A bunch of witch theme anime this season and this one seems like the most straightforrward one. Got a colorful cast and they set the story tone well. It's not a show that will blow people away but feels like got some potential with this. Yuina herself gives impression of a decent person to meet. |

For Sunrise to attempt yet another idol-esque music series outside of the enormous Love Live! franchise, that's bold. The city of Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, where 1st Year high school student Yuina Akagi meets a mysterious frog who randomly shows up in her room and immediately roping her into becoming a witch, that's quite the introduction. And within a moment, her closet becomes the gateway to the fantasy world, alongside the others of the level-headed Kyoka Kitahara, the ever-optimistic Choco Mitsumata, and the carefree Mai Kamiizumi, all to become witches by granting people's wishes. That's until the fiery Azu Niisato comes after Yuina gives the frog his name of Keroppe, and the 5 girls gradually open their flower shop, based off of Yuina's vision to sell to customers and make their dreams come true. Their very first customer of high schooler and top-scorer Eiko Zen of Maebashi School worried about her career prospects, enters the fantasy realm to be greeted by Yuina and the other girls. Of course, the enthusiastic Yuina offering her a blue rose, only to the detriment of Azu fighting against her in the presence of a customer, and the karaoke-loving girl feels sidelined that her vision did not come to past. The other girls agree and speeds up the process to agree to disagree to assist Eiko to realize her dream, through magic and music. Ehh...not really a fan of Love Live!, but will give this a try. It has that Sunrise competent spirit either way. |

Wholesome Witches. Cute start, but also annoyingly fast-paced. You don't have time to breath between the dialogues. I wish they would talk more slowly. And Azu seems a little bit too cranky, but at least the rest of the girls can behave. Funny frog~croak. 🐸 Beautiful blue rose. |

It's Gunma-chan and Ogo Station Speaking of Gunma, with its theme and location, I really wish for this series and Na Nare Hana Nare to get a collaboration in the future. btw, I don't like Azu's behavior and attitude at all. I hope they will be improved in the future. |

Maebashi Sisters caught me totally off guard. I was expecting some cute local idol promo thing and suddenly we’re out here opening magic doors and solving problems with idol power?? 😂 Not gonna lie, it’s kinda chaotic but in the best way. The fast pacing and how they just jump into the whole “magical idol shop” thing without wasting time on setup was actually refreshing. And Yuina’s already a favorite—zero fear, all sass, and just casually okay with alien frog bosses lol. Visually it’s solid, music’s catchy, and the girls have distinct vibes already. 3D animation isn’t top-tier Love Live level, but it does the job. Definitely feels like a hidden gem for the season. I didn’t expect to vibe with it this hard, but here we are. This might be my “out of nowhere” favorite this season tbh. Let’s see where it goes 👀 |

Yuina’s such a cheerful bundle of energy—her personality really makes her feel like the main lead, holding the band together. Azu, on the other hand, definitely gives off that “I want to lead and be in the spotlight” vibe. Story-wise, it was alright. Not expecting too much, but it seems like it could be a fun watch, hopefully! |

I don't know, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, the only girl I like so far is Choco and while I think their dresses are super cute the character designs aren't doing it for me, I don't find them as cute. |

I don't know if is conditioning from past animes that I watched but, I don't know, something about the visuals, the mascot, how is framed the 'helping people'. Makes me feels uneasy. From the top of my head: Madoka, and Wonder Egg. But bring happy ones too: Tamayura, and Pop in Q. Azu personality is as strong as good her design is. |

Sunrise keeping us fed between LL seasons I see lol. Idk how the scores so low on this already, witches+idols is like the ideal combo. The art is gorgeous, the girls seem great and I like the idea of them granting wishes with performances. Kinda feels like a magical evolution of Na nare hana nare a few seasons ago and I LOVE YUINA already! I kept waiting to see how this was gonna turn into an idol series because the first 17 minutes is Yuina and the girls discovering magic and Karoppe explaining their abilities to them. I really like how they have this group meeting thing to decide whether or not to grant someone’s wish or how to interpret it. It’s a different sort of anime, not gonna blow you away story-wise, but I always appreciate originality. Performance looked great and Yuina realizing that Eiko really just wanted the motivation to keep going forward in her pursuit of medical school rather than for it to be handed to her was cool. She’s not just the trendiest girl in maebashi, but also pretty smart despite what Azu says Speaking of which, Azu is pretty as hell but I HATE how mean she is to Yuina like girl y’all just met have some decorum 😭 it’s kinda grating already so hopefully she grows out of that soon. Nice premiere tho, don’t really get how people have rated it so poorly already. |

huhh just a few minutes in i was wondering if this is related to that small anime Artiswitch cause it has the same plot! it seems something separate but Junichi Yamamoto who did the storyboard for that is the director for this, interesting :D |

In my opinion, Azu ruined any enjoyment I could have had with this. Still only the first episode and they might probably tone her down later but starting off by cranking her to the max made me lose interest quick... Given the visuals and the idol and music themes, I don't think there is any fear of it having any twists similar to anime about magic + wish-granting... |

What an incredible message to start off the series with! "Nothing is impossible", indeed! I'm sure in time the character's personality will get expanded upon but otherwise, loving the neon visuals, could do without the CG, but so far the witches are cute, the frog is a mystery, and the music is bangin'. |

Idol / Music? Magic? Comedy? CGDCT? (There's still no tags when I watched this) Wait, mahou shoujo?! lol Kids? Well, it's another one of those self-empowerment series, or self-love / self-esteem kind of series. Character Design is cute but the CG is... bad. |
CrazyButNot4UApr 6, 6:16 PM
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

This feels like Momentary Lily from last season to me. Very colorful and chaotic. Kyouka is the best so far, it seems she's the most level-headed of the bunch. And Azu is a bitch and a half, I don't know if I can endure 12 episodes of that behavior. |

Great start but too fast paced. Let's see if that changes next time. Because after watching precure and Aipri, this show felt a bit of dialogues dump. |
I need somebody who can love me at my worst No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth 'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst If you stay forever, let me hold your hand I can fill those places in your heart no else can Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim |

I Want You To Sing For Me With a Disgusted Face Yes, I am a fan of classic twintail tsunderes. Decided to dive into some idol-ish titles this season and Maebashi Witches is one of them. First episode was a bit chaotic and fast paced but still it was fun and enjoyable. And I already like OP, pretty catchy song. Well, this title has everything I came for - nice girls, nice animation and nice songs. |

Yay! Another show I can enjoy as a CGDCT show! I've been running out of shows with an all-female cast to watch (a lot of them just have 12 episodes and never get a second season), so I'm always happy when more pop up. Love this show already. Yuina Akagi is very cute. |

Voice acting, especially by the main pink haired girl is really bad. I know they're trying to do a bunch of newbie actors but this is just too bad. Also has too much of an Aikatsu/Pretty Cure feel. All that along with the CG. |

I got the same vibe watching this being close to Madoka. I don't trust Keroppe at all. It doesn't even mention a price for being a witch. I feel like this is going to be a horror later. Like it's actually a competition there can be only one witch and the others will be sacrificed when one actually reaches the goal. |

Not sure how to feel about this yet, other than disliking the bitch character. I like the art and the music seemed decent. I don't see it being great though and Froggy is almost certainly hiding something from them. As an aside, I am yet to see an example of a flash forward that actually adds something to the experience. |

Now, who the hell told me in the past that it wont be another Sunrise idol show? Did you ate your words now? All 5 MC seiyuus are completely new, casted just for the show, clearly to build a new idol group. So in a sense, this is a show to promote an idol group.... And it clearly shows, their acting are sooooo bad and annoying.... their voices too.... So yeah, dropping it. No question.... |

Damn, this is t.r.a.s.h. I like idol animes, and I ADORE ANIME WITCHES, but man, for a 1st impression, this sucks hard, like, I know it is just the 1st episode so we need to see the girls develop, that's the idea, but for that they have to give us characters that get the audience interested, and at least for me, that is not happening. NONE of the girls are interesting, all of them suck. Long rant about my thoughts on each girl in this very 1st episode (had to see their names in the anime page because is not even worth it remembering them): -Yuina: the main girl, is annoying as hell, I hardly managed to stand her, she doesn't know when to shut up and her voice gives ear cancer lmao (I have nothing against her seiyuu ofc, she just got paid to talk like that, her singing voice is really good, she also does a role that I really like in umamusume), she tries to be nice but her attitude is sickening. -Azu: I hate her, she is a bad bitch, is mean to everyone for no real reason and cries for not being "the leader", I don't give a fuck about her tbh, and I already know how her "character development" will be, "bitch girl that has a dark past so is hard for her to open up to others but ends up doing it in a shitty tsudenre ass way", trash character. -Choco: this is the goofy girl of the group, but doesn't have nor offers anything special, in fact I think she is annoying and dumb, I hate characters that make up names for others without their consent, and she also likes to say her own name when talking, that is usually cute but for her it ain't working. -Mai: her character is that she doesn't give a fuck about anything? That is not appealing at all, lame ass character that immediately kills any potential interest one could get for her. -Kyouka: probably the only normal girl, but of course they had to make her a damn tomboy, how original. The frog thing is way too weird. The art style and animation ire mediocre, I dislike the overblown colors. I'm not a writer to say stuff like this, but this plot feels like a story written using AI, and that wouldn't surprise me since Sunrise and Bushiroad always release cheap and disposable idol franchises that die in a year so I guess their writters have given up at this point, you can count their successful idol franchises with the fingers of one hand... The only thing I liked about this was their costume transformation scene, very japanese styled, it was cool. I usually give shows 3 episodes to hook me in, and I'm not an "elitist" at all, but it has been a long time since I hated everything about a show in the very 1st episode, I'm sorry but I prefer not to waste my time here, dropped (but won't score it, is not even worthy of that). |
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~ Btw, cry about it. |
