Renge is the hero this show deserves. She fights for the suvivors and her world, something that shouldn't be overlooked.

At least this episode took itself more seriously compared to the first half. The power of friendship comes through!

I have no idea what the actual fuck I just watched, but god man. If only the comp in this show was better, than this would easily be up there.

Alas, this is GoHands, and this comp is literal horse shit, so. Will say this though, that Itano Circus looked better than the Zenshuu one.

It's nice how the plot has finally started to kick. This is getting more and more interesting.

Renge's reactions are always hilarious. But who/what is she exactly? She already died before? Wow. It was a shock to hear all those things from her sister.

Good looking action scenes btw.

After a couple weeks back the story is finally getting going. So wtf Renge is dead?? That was a hell of a twist Suzu dropped. Idk whether to feel impressed by the Balal fight or to be disoriented lol. Action packed episode for sure.

Gohands action scenes always remind me of that kid who never got any playing time on the basketball team, finally gets int he game and just starts dribbling way too much and tryna look cool, running around doing a whole lot of nothing 😂 that final Tyrfingr attack was cool tho and pretty plot relevant. Renge not having anyone to rely on the first time is what got her killed. Yuri did the same. Trusting in your friends and not taking on everything yourself is important.

Sadly looks like we’re back to filler next episode. I wanna know where tf these machines come from, what this world is and why are people able to come back from the dead. I think Yuri will be the key.

Plot arrives like an arc light bombing. As hinted at, Renge is something else. She asks as I did last episode "What?"
Maye a machine trying to absorb something from human Renge got infected by his consciousness like a virus? Maybe the Yuri flashes she is having is something assimilated from human Yuri? Maybe its the weapon duplicating the consciousness of the wielder, and Renge's weapon became her? That would explain the part of Yuri merging into her memories.

"You pass pit on front of other people like she does." LOL

So much plot, they had to skip the cooking.

Bath spa episode next week, Yay.

I still have not seen a male character.

Did Renge just crawl back from the ground like a zombie? Her sister said she buried her after all lol
I'm curious about what Renge really is

Some good action scenes this episode, though I noticed they reused several shots from the opening for this battle. We also finally got to meet Renge's sister who confirmed some of the suspicions I had, hopefully we'll see more of her and Citron in future episodes but the preview for next episode makes me worry that they'll be written out now that they've served some narrative purpose.

Episode 8 Momentary Rainy

Renge is wandering out in the rain (yellow raincoats are cute) and somehow finds her sister in a building. Then the girl reveals that Renge is supposed to be dead, so the plot twist is that she's been reincarnated (or she's in a game) and she decides to go out and fight the huge walking machine that's stalking the city.

Here is some really great animation- the climax is when she falls diagonally downward, crashes through a building window, tumbles through the place and gets up and charges down the hall and flies out of it- this is all 3D animation but the way it's cut is really good and the sense of weight- that kind of scene is movie-level stuff, seeing it in a oddball seasonal TV anime is a treat indeed- and I really wanna get my hands on their architecture program

The other girls show up for the rest of the fight and while the machine is still on the attack, Ayame spends the time to scold Renge for running away on her own- chick couldn't the lecture wait til after you kill the monster? Eventually with some more spinning scenery and zipping through the air, Renge takes down the thing- then reveals she has healing power and everything-

I was really impressed with this episode, the animation is top tier, the rendering, voice acting, including the animation of the girls' hair- and Erika's very bouncy boobs- this show has stayed fully committed to this level of animating for 8 episodes straight... hardly any new anime today stay so consistent like this. Great job GoHands 5/5

So the mystery thickens in regards to what or who Renge is but it is somehow related to Yuri so that makes me wonder if there's a chance that Yuri can come back since Renge apparently did.

Yea this episode was really good. When suzu cried she buried renge, that hurt! the action was both disoriented and great. It looks like we're going back to them doing cute girls doing cute things, but I hope we get a more plot expo next episode, I wanna know whats the deal with renge. If Renge died and came back, what about yuri?

I don't know why I keep associating Renge so much with Yuki Takeya. Except both being sweet and cute, short-haired, teenage girl leads with some form of psychological condition (amnesia vs. PTSD and psychosis) in a post-apocalyptic nightmare. Though one is a far more forceful and coherent self-advocate.

Thinking on it, I'm not sure which post-apocalypse scenario I'd rather be thrust into. Giant alien robots or zombies. The Wild Hunt seem obviously individually far more powerful, but also far less numerous and more scarce.

I love this episode. We get to learn more about Renge as she meets her younger sister. She had died, yet she is still alive. How did this happen? It opens the possibility that Yuri might get resurrected.

Their bonds are stronger after this episode.

It looks like next week will be filled with fanservice just like in Episode 6.

I swear this series is not helping itself, plot-building wise, there were 3 episodes of "Cute girls doing cute stuff" then a fanservice pool episode, then finally we get some good stuff in episode 8, and episode 9 is gonna be more cute girls doing funny stuff and naked in the bath. The writers in GoHands are trash, i'm running out of reasons to defend this series.

This was an action heavy episode, with tons movements, and a bunch of them were very impressive indeed, like that scene with kappou girl running trough the building, or the Itano Circus scene, but there are others that seems to have some problems, ignoring the weird composition and effects that is normal in the show at this point, like for example:

This doesn't make much sense to me because foreground moves to the right, but background rotates to the left? Shouldn't they both move in the same direction? or i missed some sort or big circular rotating platform in the middle of the city? also enemy's movement in the center doesn't seem to follow neither foreground or background movement, the more i saw this scene the more weird it becomes, there is this other where Kappou Girl is running through enemy's arm(or that's what the scene is supposed to convey), but is clearly noticeable that both(Kappou Girl and the arm) aren't interacting with each other, there is neither a movement of the arm and the camera in response to Kappou Girl's movement or vice-versa, In fact, for a brief moment Kappou Girl appears to be running without moving at all in mid-air. And so on.

Also there were a bunch of reused scenes i think, no only form the OP but for 1st chapter, like the Gyaru girl shooting, Guilty Girl using her Sword, etc, or a least they are very similar.

Now for the story side, is now confirmed that Kappou Girl isn't human, in fact she died, so somehow she was revived by the aliens (or something more), or it's something created by the aliens that took Kappou girl's memories, although the memories with Don Don Don Girl are still a mystery, but next is a fan service chapter again? What about the plot of her sister and her group, will be ignored momentarily, or worse, completely?

@LordCrueltyV Well, with the things we have seen so far is also possible, but i'm more inclined to "some staff in gohands being on drugs or being incompetent" while doing this.

GODHANDS JUST MADE A GODTIER EPISODE! Holy shit an episode with no derelict cooking segment is more sad than no trumpet in the 'Welcome to the NHK' OP! We got lore, we got feels, we got some incredible action and even a bit of Ayame going full chuuni! This was so great. Honestly, fuck Renge's sister. She's all like, "WHO TF ARE YOU!?" While her actual posse accept her with open arms. I think this might mean we'll see Yuri again in the flesh in the near future. Easily one of the best episodes. Yeah, I'm thinking of bumping my ranking to a 10/10.

Okay that makes sense Renge died. Only question is if this Renge is in any way connected to the original one or just an imitation.

That fight actually looked good. I think just from it being so busy it looks bad when trying to read subtitles because it takes your eyes away from the details you need to focus on to take it all in.

No this is correct actually even though it seems counter intuitive in movement. What is happening is the city is in a curved street alignment so running in a circle around. The opposite movement of the buildings is an optical illusion related to apparent retrograde motion the moment of passing the buildings more distant will look like they are moving same direction but opposite more near buildings. Just do a scaled down test yourself and you will see it if you do it right just be sure to do it in a circular curve because if you dont curve you gain distance from the distant objects which messes up the effect more easily. The Wild Hunt is turning following Renge which is why the movement is different.

Poor Renge, thought that I'll see a happy reunion but never expected that. Suzuran shouldn't had to talk like that to the Renge, it's the toughest for her of all.

We didn't got our 3-cooking this time either. At least we got the happy ending and the numbers haven't decreased since Yuri died.

@traed What you say makes sense but only for objects that are beyond a hypothetical center of a circular motion. But the the scene is constructed in such a way that the hypothetical center appears to be beyond the most distant buildings.
To make this type of scenes three things are required, the first, in its simplest form in 2D, would be to use 3 layers, one with the moving objects in front, the static object (which is the center of the hypothetical circle) in the middle and the furthest moving objects in the background, objects in the foreground layer are distorted very slightly to make them appear convex (simulating the outer area of a circle), while objects in the background are distorted to make them appear concave (to simulate distant objects within the boundaries of the hypothetical circle).
The second is speed of movement, again, in its simplest form objects moving in the front and in the background must move at the same speed (or very close) to simulate that the distance they are from the hypothetical center of the circle is the same, just in opposite directions.
And the last one is the direction of the rotation, continuing with the same example, the front layer and the background layer must move in opposite directions (to highlight that the front layer is the front of our hypothetical circle and the background layer is the back).
Additionally, there is also the scale, in which the objects in front must be large (often occupying a large part of the hypothetical camera) while those in the background are much smaller and can fit completely into the scene, but this is something more intrinsic and basic as far as animation is concerned.

An example of this is this scene in Oshi No Ko 1st ED:
https://youtu.be/QUTShho-5I8?si=1jmBXVuxbDsUTKWc&t=56

There you can see how the scene is aligned with everything previously stated.

However, in Momentary Lili's scene, even though the direction of rotation in opposite directions is true, the background layer does not move at the same speed as the front layer, nor does the background layer have the concave effect to make it look like the other end of the circle, It doesn't even move from one end to the other (to simulate the other side of a circle).

The scene seems to be constructed as if it were just half circle, which was my first assumption, because the background layer has a convex effect (just like the foreground layer) and moves at a slower speed than the foreground layer, but again, the directions of the layers do not match. So whatever technique they were trying to use in the end, it has flaws in its execution, just like what happened with the other scene I mentioned.
