Anyone else oddly infuriated by the ost in this one? The entire thing is just slow, sad, sappy, introspective piano music. I'm honestly beginning to wonder if they have more than 1 song in this show. Incredibly lazy ost work thus far.

The main character's design is also oftentimes just enough off model that it kills me. I dunno about this one... I wanna watch this sappy shoujo anime, but it's like they've wrapped their gift in printer paper, wrote wrapping paper on it, and called it a day.

Not much to watch atm this season though so I guess I'll give it another episode or two.

This episode did make me go to the manga after watching it. The gemstone line was just so good, it really got me. Reframing how you think of things is a real thing that can genuinely feel like this dramatic of a breakthrough for people. But man, this series is better than I thought it was going to be. I came into it not knowing how popular it apparently is, and I originally thought the concept seemed silly. But I’m a sucker for romance, so I decided to watch anyway. It goes without saying that of course it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but this is a really good and solid romance. I say to give it more of a chance to the people who are questioning it. I’m not sure if the anime will get to a point to really show off its quality, but all I can do is vouch for it based on what I’ve read. The 2 leads thoughts and feelings are realistic to me. Ishimori’s outlook is something I especially resonate with a little more into the series. Give it a chance. It looks stereotypical and like simple shallow characters in the beginning, but it’s better than that if you give it the chance to be. There’s more here than meets the eye.

Ishimori char. arc goes brrmm. But on serious I didn't expected her realise the feelings by ep 2. On other note, Kai is such a cool guy and this show has really good animation especially bg arts. Just hoping series isn't very repetitive with Gemstone getting bullied again and again.

Episode 1 was such a torture. This one is better as Ishimura is starting to find some confidence. Not there yet and many of us will get frustrated but I hope she continues to improve.

I don't even like the alpha male Miura for now, he's too perfect and neither ishimori . It doesn't mean that I'll like them in the future, but not for now. And what can we say about those second division thugs? A little ridiculous. That being said, I don't want to judge an anime by only two episodes.

Ok so surprisingly she's balling wow. I guess if you do it mentally enough you could somehow do it physically too.

Honestly though so far really not feeling it. It's not bad but just so idk I just don't like how things are done I guess. It's not bad but maybe just compared to all the other good romances recently this feels bad. Maybe that's the thing? that it feels like it's not modern somehow? idk. Tropes and clichés aren't bad but the way they're done just isn't my taste I guess.

Hmmm I think Uka is really autistic coded. No friends, being bullied (people that say the bullying is too exagerated have never talked to autistic people), crying a lot (meltdowns!), having problems with saying a simple good morning (I'm 33 but this shit is still too difficult, can we just skip it?), being told she's a stone (oh yeah we really dont show emotions unless we are having meltdowns). All this just to say that I love Uka and I hope she can get better at life (whatever that means). For Kai she's a nuisance but I think she's perfect the way she is, she just needs good people around her (and that's difficult). She has already been adopted by Kai's group so I think she'll be ok.

I'm not sure about Kai, he's too flashy and overbearing, I get tired by the way he talks, he really can't communicate well either. And if he doesn't say things directly Uka will misinterpret everything and get paranoid (did you know that having autism with no treatment can give you paranoid thoughts? my therapist told me that today and that's why I'm taking antipsychotics for years now).

It’s not that I think this has been bad, but it’s just so over the top. Like with Kimi no Todoke for example, the Sawako thing makes sense in a way because she looks and acts that way in front of people. For Ishimori…she just gets shy? Freezes? And that leads to people straight walking up to her and telling her she looks horrible in her school uniform, leads to her bully CALLING TWO GOONS to find her at school. Like cmon things are a little ridiculous in this regard. I’m not all that fond of the job JC Staff is doing so far, and idk the dialogue just feels so fast and choppy. Hoping this gets cleaned up going forward bc I was kinda looking forward to this one, but I’m tempering expectations after watching the goofy stuff.

Visually this is a good looking show, a lot of nice lighting and backgrounds. The soundtrack is quite nice as well. But other than that, I'm just not impressed so far. The crashing noise made me think someone got hit by a car. But I guess it was some kind of hit squad from one of the bullies? It all just feels painfully contrived. The relationship between the two protagonists feels so stilted and awkward, they have no chemistry. I'll give this another episode before I consider dropping it.

Okay I have a little better feel for Ishimori-chan's mental state to relate to how she feels more, she isn't just timid she's socially awkward not really knowing how to get close to people so I get it.

Miura comes off weird to me. Sometimes I find his tough love off-putting since I know how people like that can get and I hate people pushing me like that in an angry way but he also goes out of his way to help too. It just seems really contradictory so his character doesn't quite feel real to me yet.

Things did escalate pretty quickly. I thought the bullies would know their place in the previous episode, but for the girls in that group to get their boyfriends involved to teach Ishimori a lesson was a scummy move for them to do. Good thing that Miura was close by, even throwing a desk at them to scare them off, which shows how far he will go in order to protect Ishimori.

As for Ishimori herself, she's already starting to fall for Miura. Their conversations aren't the smoothest at times, which Tomoya had to step in make sure the message got to them both clearly, but aside from that, it's enjoyable to watch them talk and bicker here and there. The soundtrack also deserves more praise as well, with how mellow and calm it can be which compliments the scenes that it plays on.

So far, I'm still liking this series and I do hope Ishimori continues her journey of improvement with Miura and the others.

I get being an introvert. You'll be so excited to try something out of your comfort zone and the next day you're back where you were. This was just too much.

Still seated though. I feel it'll get better. We just need to navigate the rough weather now with the troupes and clichés in this episode. Being cliche isn't bad. It just needs to be enjoyable

The show has a lot of sweet moments, like the gemstone line, and on paper the idea of him pushing her to be more outgoing and stand up for herself is really good, but for the most part Kai is just too rude and brusque to her for me to find it romantic.

This is getting more and more unbearable to watch.

The girl makes me so lazy, what a pain, I hate shy and scared characters who are always apologizing . And I hate even more the cliché of a "hero" saving her from other random silly characters, what a stupid anime. The interaction between them is like water and fire, they don't match, simply one of the most forced couples I've ever seen in romance anime.

The only nice thing about this anime is just the piano, the serene sound of the soundtrack, the rest for me is garbage. I'll try to watch this until the end but for now it's really, really bad.

That is mocking all the people who get good through putting in effort and improving slowly with hard work. She isn't god ffs

Also, dangerous guy? Dangerous guy???? Where is this so called "dangerous guy" ? He lightly pulled them and then threw a table, which would have done minimal damage and they start crying like babies. Like what. Just beat him tf up, It's 2v1 too by the way.

And what would they have even done to her in the first place? Only in anime man, only in anime. To sum up, I'm mad because this is ridiculous and braindead.

I mean, this episode was way better than the 1st one, that's for sure. The animation is still trash, and so is the story. The emotions and voice acting were on point though. The ED slaps, and seems to have had more budget than the entire rest of the anime combined.
