I find it interesting how Mephisto is dealing with all the problems at the academy back in these days. Satan's presence alone causes chaos in their world.

Yuri tried to make a difference but it's Satan we're talking about so her efforts were fruitless. I still admire her courage though.

It’s honestly a shame that Blue Exorcist isn’t more popular. This season has been one of the best so far, and overall, the Blue Exorcist series is better than a lot of the big-name shonen out there.

@Jony_ That's certainly not how I see it. I think she sympathized with Satan and his pain and wanted to save him and the section by extension. She was willing to sacrifice her self and her love to protect others. This is one of the ultimate expressions of love.

I love Yuri so much and she is such a sweet character. It's very sad that Rin and Yukio didn't get to have her in their lives.

Satan really lost his marbles. Like Yuri said, he’s at that point where he’s ready to kill to survive because he knows his time is limited.

Yuri still sees the childlike Rinka in Satan, while everyone looks at him as the Demon King.

Even though Mephisto is seen as a cunning demon in our timeline, he really has helped be the middle man between the demons and humans, otherwise humanity would’ve been done long ago.

Based on the ending, it looks like Yuri will willingly get pregnant by Satan and allow his legacy to live on. Then Shiro will find out. I know he’ll be shocked and pissed, but he’ll do her a favor and take care of Rin and Yukio in secret so they aren’t killed.

Or Yuri gets pregnant by Shiro but Shiro ends up possessed by him in the process or Satan does something to sabatoge the pregnancy, causing Rin and Yukio to become spawns of Satan.

If I’m wrong at either deduction then welp

Was I the only one hoping Yuri would kiss Satan there at the end? Not in a romantic way, I don't think she feels that way about him, but simply to show she cares. Just a brush against his lips, stained with his own blood. Him going stock-still, trying and failing to understand, and just as he's about to lean into it, she pulls away. She looks sad.

@JustDefending Isn't Blue Exorcist really popular over in Japan and parts of Asia? I think it is, It's just that it's not that popular in the west, or at least not as popular as it once was. I remember it being pretty popular back when the first season came out, but then people just kind of stopped talking about it because of the huge gap between season 2 and 3, plus I don't think season 2 did that great either.

That being said though, I think it's fine if its not popular as other big shonen. A few weeks back, I saw people complaining about the fact this got another season. Something about it "not being popular" or "why bother with this show if it's nowhere near as good as (insert show here)", because I guess if something isn't as popular as JJK, AOT, or any other big shonen, it's not even worth making, or watching? It's not popular in the west, but I really don't mind, especially if it keeps toxic assholes like that away.

Another great episode. I swear these episodes are going by way too fast lol this one felt like it lasted 5 minutes

ABSOLUTE CINEMA

What an immense joy it is to be living in this era, during which we Blue Exorcist fans are blessed with a stratospheric 5th season. Well, shame on me for watching the 5th episode the day before the 6th, but never mind.

In this episode, we have the privilege of seeing the very essence of this magnificent work brought to life. The very thing that makes the entire community dream, faithful to Kato-Sensei's work: the gargantuan lore. Of course, the fighting is much less present. But what's the point of having them, if Voln graces us with such a backstory?

The story has taken an unexpected turn for some, I realize. Nevertheless, this arc is by far the most striking, the most important, but also the best-worked of the saga. It allows us to better understand the motivations of each character, as well as the reasons behind current events.

Not to mention the relationship between Shiro and Yuri. Without Satan, their relationship could have been so beautiful, so dreamlike. We can see the immense pain in Yuri's eyes when Shiro fails to reveal his feelings for her. But, as Mephisto likes to tell us again and again, all this will end in tragedy. And, oh boy, no one is really prepared for what happens.

On the technical side, as clean as ever. Whether it's the osts, the voice actors (<3 on Yuri's), the staging or the animation, everything remains very stable. Well, some frames could have been improved, but I'm playing with details.

In any case, Satan seems to have a total hold on Yuri, and that's not good for us. But I'm sure Shiro will do his utmost to protect her at all costs. But would that be enough? How will things develop? I can't wait to find out.
