You know what, this no-killing rule may seem like a far-fetched idea, seeing how the gang has to deal with so many wannabes every walking minute, but yeah, trust me, they’d stay firm to their stance no matter what lol. Now yeah, they’ve been mentioning JAA and The Order since the last two episodes, so I’m kind of looking forward to see the rest of the cast soon enough. Btw, I liked how the guy who fought with Shin didn’t even bother trying again. Moreover, all of this happening behind the back of Aoi and Hana and them being clueless about all of it is something hilarious in itself, though tbh, that’s where the fun is.

Boiled finally made an appearance, I mean I was thinking when he would, considering he first made an appearance ages ago in the manga, and yeah tbh, it’s hard not to love this guy lol. “You’re a nice girl, don’t spread your legs like that”, yep, he a real gentleman. No wonder that chick is head over heels for Boiled lol.

Hope someone should break it down for him though, that Sakamoto actually DOES NOT care, and all of this is a misunderstanding, but hey, we wouldn’t have seen all of that action and most importantly, SLIM SAKAMOTO, if it wasn’t for that, so yeah, really looking forward to the next one.

Animation might've been pretty limited this episode, but the real test to see whether or not this show is good, is to see how much resources they've put into the next episode, aka the first big fight of the show.

But yeah, now thinking about it after seeing this cliffhanger, it makes sense why they skipped chapters 2 and 3, they wanted to save the locked in Sakamoto for this episode to end it off on a cliffhanger. Still hope they go back and adapt those chapters after this arc though.

Good episode . Decent-good animation . Hard Boiled Va was Was very good , My fav moment was When Boiled Repeatedly punches Sakamoto , The Va and The ost was so good in that part .

The Next ep will probably decide the fate of this series . I really want them to cook

The first half was chill but the second half got really tense with the fighting and I love that duo as well. They're so fun. The fight was awesome but one-sided for the most part but Sakamoto remembered his buddy from his teen days and he got slim all of a sudden.

I'm very excited for the next episode. Can't wait for the next one. It's gonna be so good.

Animation critics be damned this episode was fucking great. Boiled and his partner are funny as shit. I almost don’t want them to lose lmao, but cmon how’s boiled holding a 20 year grudge just because Sakamoto had more aura than him in high school 😭 let it go bro.

The fact they were at Hit-Man school at 14 and 15 and still looked like grown men is fucking killing me man. Boiled just wanted to be friends and acknowledged by Sakamoto and he didn’t give him the time of day.

Soon as boiled started getting the upper hand on Sakamoto in the fight and yelled out “you’re just a fat ass” I knew shit was gonna get nasty for him. He wanted Sakamoto’s attention and he got it now. Glasses are off and bro somehow lost 150 pounds mid fight it’s over lmaoo. Need next ep now.

finally got to one of the iconic panels which made me pick up the series in the first place.

boiled's hardboiled introduction was solid and obiguro actually looks better. although again they have some drawings that look off for some reason i will not understand. sakamoto flashback was neat and slim saka is here. also the leon the professional reference lol.

A nice cool episode between characters eventhough the interactions of Lu are really just okayish. Sakamoto is getting serious now, and we shall see what he can do in next episode. You could have sworn he was getting beat down so hard that he actually became thinner LMAO.

I promised I won’t say anything about animation or artstyle till final episode and I won’t lol. It’s better to stay silent right now because wow there’s a lot to say about this episode. To summarise it for anyone curious: mid OPM S2. Perfect description so far.

What's the point of being boiled if you aren't hard?

Sakamoto's lovely amusement park outing continues. Not sure why he keeps discussing business with his employees while the wife is five feet away. Both new villains are very interesting. I love how the hard-boiled guy is both tsundere for Sakamoto and always making the girl scaroused. Shin seems kind of lame without his psychic powers. He did just fight off the other dude, so I don't want to say glorified jobber just yet, but he needs to step it up against the next hit.

Looking forward to seeing what "the real" Sakamoto can do next time.

The fact that Shin's roast of Lu for handling a haunted house worse than a kid got to her bad enough to down a bottle to fully mask her fears is hilarious. Love those two's sibling-level bickering so much.

Imagine having a cause of death that isn't as hard-boiled as "Rocket Dynamite Punch".

All the hype built around the Boiled arc and we end up getting this (another) slow paced action episode overcompensated by cheap impact filters, with a lacklustre intro of skinny Sakamoto. Enjoyed the silly interaction between Obiguro and Boiled, the rest of the episode was as mid as it gets.

It was a good episode. It was interesting to see Sakamoto's teenage years, and it's no wonder he was popular with the killer girls at school. But looking so cool and looking 20+ at 14 should be a crime: you can't look that good at that age. Poor Boiled, I understand her jealousy and resentment towards Sakamoto.

The final scene with Sakamoto was epic. I'm still not sure how he slimmed down so fast, but now Sakamoto has gotten serious. Poor Boiled, here's to his future beating.

A tough fight ahead.

This is only my personal preference:
The 4th episode could have ended before the reveal
The 5th episode could have made a short recap in the beginning to make those watching it remember and then show the skinny Sakamoto.

As it is, half of the "oh no, this is a critical situation" feeling is gone for me.

If I eat some super balls to the face and a RDP will I slim down? Nah probably not since I'm not a anime character. Ok we get slim Sakamoto again. It's his second stage I guess but it's just him losing weight.

Loved seeing Boiled in his anime debut, and next episode will be Sakamoto's first big fight that really made me fall in love with the manga when I was catching up to it. Slim Sakamoto is here, things are about to get serious.

Ah, so the assassin had the antidote with him too. Lucky for Shin. But not handing that assassin to the police... They were too trusting.

The Hard-Boiled duo has a really funny dynamic lol. I like how the female assassin has a crush on the guy. They're the real weirdos here.

I kinda feel bad for Boiled or whatever his name was. Dude just wanted a friend but Sakamoto didn't give a rat's ass about him. Well at least he has a female companion now who's gushing over him.

Drunk Lu is funny lol. I like how Shin handled the previous assassin and now it's Lu's time to shine. Shin is screwed if she doesn't do anything.

Hold up, Sakamoto just de-aged several years just like that? Were the bombs that good? Or does he just pretend to be fat? Either way, it's cool to see younger Sakamoto outside of flashbacks!

What a great episode, the gang is still at the amusement park and now a new hit squad comes to try to take them out. Sakamoto is taking the worst beating I think we've seen this season.

I kinda wish Lu would've gotten a chance to show off more drunken fist, but maybe she will next episode.

It was cool to see the backstory of Sakamoto back in hitman school as well as Nagumo and Boiled.

I was sad when it ended because the time went by so fast and I wanted to see more! 😭

I wish Japan wasn't a week ahead, yeah, I got to watch but I feel bad for all those who can't.

Sakamoto from the final part of this episode was another? He looked like he used to be in the past.

I’m sure Sakamoto would defeat that guy, I mean, he is the best assassin ever.

Lu Xiaotang can be so funny sometimes, but she and Shin are getting well. Hope they will be able to restore the peace.

Decided to go ahead and check out the early release since it’s been coming out consistently, worst thing that can happen is that I just don’t get an episode one week if it stops coming out this early, so fuck it I’m balling lol.

And I didn’t expect this arc to go on for a third episode, but with a cliffhanger like that I’m all for it lol, I absolutely was not expecting Sakamoto to be able to return to his non-Big Chungus self, it was a really cool moment, but this also raises some questions. Did he magically remove the fat from his body just to lock in, or is the fat appearance just to fool enemy assassins? I honestly feel like both is possible because this is the same show with a mind reader and a guy that can rapidly change appearances lol, but I’m at least pretty sure this isn’t the end of large Sakamoto, he’s got such an iconic design and I don’t want to not see it anymore no matter how handsome his younger self is lol.

But skinny-moto wasn’t the only good thing about this episode, I also found myself really enjoying the duo of Boiled and Obiguro, they got a fun dynamic that makes them not even seem like villains lol, it’s funny that Boiled talked of Sakamoto being popular with the babes but doesn’t realize he’s got one right there, and she is pretty hot too, and also pretty sadistic based on her battle with Shin and Lu so far, but for some that’s not an issue lol. And poor Lu, I’m starting to think she’s just gonna be a meme from now on, it’s funny but I was kinda hoping for a sick display of the drunken fist, oh well. And lastly, damn Boiled has some really cool moves, that Rocket Dynamite Punch was especially sick, not sure if he’s gonna kick as much ass with Sakamoto getting the world’s fasted liposuction but he’s had a cool showing so far at least.

Of course they are going into a haunted house, because of plot? I wonder how many kids in his daugther's age actually enjoy this kinda stuff? and she treated like it was nothing.

The 2nd half of this episode was very disappointing for me.

The idea of having a school to train assassins combined with an entire organization existing to manage these assassins was a terrible idea that likely ruins much of the potential worldbuilding. Sakamoto having tons of female admirers but randomly ending up with his current wife also makes explaining his relationship with his wife much harder too.

The relationship stuff is still salvageable, but they went from crossing a speedbump of expectations to creating their own small hill to climb for no other reason than a minor joke.

The organization stuff also increases the difficulty in explaining why he has only now just been targeted after several years beyond plot convenience. Instead of something simple like working for a single Yakuza boss that died after he left and the new boss reneging on letting him retire now they have to justify why this giant organization left him alone/couldn't find him for several years.

Oh yeah, Sakamoto not going all out on Boiled from the beginning despite his family going missing was a major plot hole that was put in just for another shounen style fight that drags out the conclusion to allow the protagonist to show his "true/secret power". If he's trying to protect his family, wasting precious time like that increases the odds that they're dead! Just incredibly stupid writing.

Hopefully future episodes fix some of these issues because just this single episode pushed my rating down by 1.5 points for the whole series thus far with how awful it was compared to the first 3 episodes.

This was far and away the best episode of the series so far. I really enjoyed everything about it. The new characters are a really good addition. I get a Baki vibe from this series (though I am liking it better than what I have seen of Baki). The ending was nice, but I feel like knowing how Sakamoto slimmed down from chapter 3 would not have ruined this moment.

Drunken Lu is a lot of fun. RIP Shin.
