| Not sure if calling a guy who’s no longer in his teens, cute, would actually be one right thing, but hey, Taki’s brother was actually a bit good-looking, so yeah lol. Though he looks so similar to Taki, so I’m not sure how these kids were assuming he her boyfriend lol. Anyway, I always think how it’d be more easy to tell people about youkais and everything than trying to hide it, as I mean of course, brother was processed by a youkai itself in the end. Telling them would make things easy, even if they don’t believe. A haunted place will be a haunted place in the end, so yeah, their attachment to the house might not let them leave that place, but I guess, it’s actually better to go find a new place and live there. Will save such experiences lol. Though hey, they are good experiences, so I guess it’s fine:) |

| Seems Taki's brother mistook their relationship at the end. While romance has never been a thing in this anime Taki and Natsume are pretty close so it's possible. The siblings had some talking to do but it seems things worked out in the and with some help from Natsume. And it wasn't really something the was caused by Ayakashi. |
| Taki is back!!! I almost forgot she was in the same school as Natsume (it's been a time since she appeared in an episode) Natsume just thought "he is cute" and that's okay... and Isamu liked sensei too! As always I cried and I was suprise when the brother said he didn't mind at all if Natsume ends with Taki... and that the youkai waved bye xD |

| Lovely episode. Taki's brother is a nice guy. It was funny how Natsume was like, he's older than me? Considering the height difference. Bro likes Nyanko just like Taki :D Loved how at the end he even gave his seal of approval to Natsume! Taki and Natsume would make a good pair, but it's hard to say if the show will ever focus on romance. One can only wish. |
| The brother definitely was... something, i totally get not being able to show your emotions or communicate correctly with the ones you love but he seems like he cares a lot for Taki like her grandfather, Anyway overall classic melancoly Natsume episode of the week, this show wouldn't feel right if i'm not on the verge of tears when the ending song starts almost each week, reminds me of Aria/Amanchu that way when i think about it. |

| I didn't expect Taki's college-age brother to be so much shorter than Natsume, lol. He looks more like a younger brother than an older brother. So Natsume has gotten Isamu's blessing...I'm all for it, especially since Taki already knows that yokai exist, Natsume's ability to see them, and that Nyanko-sensei can talk. Would be nice if their friendship develops into something more in their future. |

But I don’t know if anything has changed over the years. There are clearly a few characters in this episode, that kinda ship them. @Sorvarin This girl clearly wants to be friends with her, not date her. Moreover, she still thinks that Taki has a boyfriend. And as I said above, the author deliberately avoids romance here. At all. |

The ‘flowery stones’ Taki’s grandfather mentioned certainly existed, though they couldn’t find them in the river - the stones with glowing blue flowers from the stonewasher episode (Roku, Ep. 2). I love it when the series includes ayakashi or lore which had been featured in past episodes. Especially in this case, with the flower stones from the youkai world making it to the human world as a myth. Though human sayings interpret finding such beautiful stones as just ‘lucky’, there is of course deeper meaning behind their origin in the youkai world. And Natsume is also seeing this ‘transfer’ - I’m pretty sure he made the connection to the stones he did see in person.  |

| @Sorvarin There was indeed palpable romantic tension between them in this episode, but the author has always been open about her reluctance to write romance and I don't remember anything changing during this time. |

| Taki's big bro's a cutie. I thought he'd have some inferiority complex after meeting Natsume, but he was chill - until Nyanko-sensei made an appearance & his love for feline took over lol At least the yokai with him wasn't a bad one; it even helped them save Taki.. now i hope Izumu believes in the supernatural, even just a wee bit after what he witnessed when he was with Natsume just before Taki's accident. |

| Taki's brother Isamu went all X-files to disprove legends of Ayakashi because Taki and their grandfather bonded over those stories and he's a skeptic. He enlists Natsume's help, and Natsume has to (easily) bribe Nyanko Sensei with those chocolate eclairs (OMG they look delicious). Isamu is haunted but falls for the cuteness that is Nyanko sensei. The ayakashi is benign and helps them find the secret memory Isamu has forgotten. Aww. Just aww. My heart. At the end when he says he can leave Taki in Natsume's hands I laughed out loud at Natsume and Nyanko spitting out their drink. Overall a lovely lovely episode. Very heart healing. |

| @juuo It's a case of "reality is in the eye of the beholder." There are a lot of jokes about homoerotic vibes in the story, but I never saw Tanuma and Natsume as anything more than a friendship between two shy, awkward guys. |

Ah, I didn't make that connection. Just too long ago I watched that season. Thought the grandpa was looking for Chrysanthemum stone or some other flowery stone formation. |
