| I've never seen the original Ranma 1/2 but I remember it being really old. Love the fact that they have remade it and given it a comedic spin and art of this age. I must say I am very impressed with their creativity and I love it! |

| Best boy is here! Ryouga always was my favorite character of the series and of anime in general. The events of this episode took two episodes in the original and I get that things have to be more faithful to the manga this time so inevitably a lot of anime original content of the first one has got to go, but as an all-time Ranma fan I can't help but miss much of it, especially if I felt it enhanced the story, the characters and the gags. For example, in this remake Ryouga's lack of sense of direction comes off pretty much just as a statement, as a sort of mere information about him, while in the original they played out much more with the joke. In the remake, he is shown lost in Shikoku just once, but in the original, he shows up there three times and the villagers can't believe how is it possible he can be that bad with orientation. Also, the funny part of Ranma remembering him that the location he set for their fight was only the empty ground behind his own house and that even then he couldn't find it was gone here too. Among some other notable additions. But somehow, even if I'm missing all these omitted parts and lines, at the same time I'm not feeling mad for their absence. Somehow I don't feel the series is progressing rushed at all and even for someone who's aware of all the content being left out it doesn't feel like the series is indeed doing that at all, and that is saying a lot. |

| Ryoga was actually pretty strong! Seems like the school Ranma went to was practically a battlefield for monsters to attend. I’m not sure if I like Ryoga yet, but I’m definitely grateful to him for giving Akane short hair; she looks so cute with it! |

| Ryouga! I know him well, but let's look at how he's presented in this episode. Pretty much the same. Ryouga, his usual lost self, finally finds Ranma to get his revenge. Revenge for what, we don't know (I do know) yet. We have a big battle between Ranma and Ryouga, and Ryouga shows that he has incredible strength and very dangerous bandanas. Ranma seems to be able to lift his umbrella, though. Poor Akane gets involved in a very unfortunate way at the end. Honestly, I liked her better with long hair. It was a fun episode, one I really enjoyed and fondly remember from the original series. However, this series uses a lot of manga style art at times, and part of the fight is in odd colours. Not sure I like that very much. |
