To be fair, it's a common troupe for the mc to be like this at the start of the show to give them room for character growth, but clearly this is your first romcom because it's pretty laid back compared to most shows.

The amount of Hate is absurd. Taiki is one of those Gentleman MC, simple yet charming, the story does a good job working on him, make him grow in both fronts.
If you're picking on the Looks, he is a normal looking guy with a bit tall stature and a badminton rookie, constantly working on himself, who also likes a girl. The best trait about him ain't his looks, but his mindset, how Optimistic he sees through any situation.
