Damn, Tokiyuki tossed her sword into the sky with purpose. The more personality I see from her, the more I'm more invested into her character this season.

Episode also highlighted more dangers of their world. That monster boar looked it was going to kill anything in its path. Also, I kinda like all the chemistry between the cast so far. No one is really getting left out. Gotta work together to take out a beast like that.

Was a much slower episode than the first two but the staff still got to shine with the overall animation and visuals present in the episode, even having some sakuga scenes with Suwa manipulating the weather there alongside Tokiyuki running away from the beast there. Comedy was terrible as usual to the point where I can't get used to it multiple episodes in, but the episode did spend some time building the relationships between Tokiyuki and the fellow kids there who are potentially his retainers that he could trust in battle while he wins and succeeds through his speciality of running away, developing a sense of comradery and teamwork in the process. The first half was really boring but the second half was a bit better with more focus there after Tokiyuki stops running away from all of his responsibilities again and was developing some kind of chemistry with the other kids there, whether in or outside battle.

Today's episode was meh. Animation still nice, but the rain stopping animation could have been better and in a different way. It wasn't as pleasing as before. Story is still progressing slowly, but follows the manga suit. Sooo yeah. Next episode will be much better with Tokiyuki getting his Chojumaru name~
He was still freaking adorable in the episode thou~

I don't remember Assassination Classroom's comedy being this obnoxious, if I'm being honest. The show is good, but the comedy is really a detriment, especially in today's episode, it's just way too over the top. I feel like the former series even had a more serious tone compared to this, even though it had a lighter premise.

The fucking Dragon Ball reference 💀

A slower and weaker episode this week compared to the impressive premiere and 2nd episode, but it was cool to see Tokiyuki's teamwork with his retainers when they took out the boar.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

@Cestlavie_ I completely agree. It was also one of the reasons why I wasn't a fan of today's episode. It was over the top and it wasn't this bad in AssClass. It might tone down...

Cute twink bf is back.

Another awesome episode. Didn’t have all crazy animation and Sakuga. Much slower and more focused on Tokiyuki and his new retainers, which I appreciated after the whirlwind the first two eps were. This feels like the proper start of Tokiyuki’s quest to reclaim his family’s territory and avenge all their deaths now that he’s got full faith in Suwa and his friends’ abilities.

Suwa might seem crazy, but he’s not just running on vibes. The issue is convincing Tokiyuki that he can actually win this war. The supernatural spin on Suwa was not something I expected, and I still want a little more explanation but him being a god would explain all the meta references and his confidence in Tokiyuki’s victory. I wonder if he’s a history buff god that came from the future just to witness Tokiyuki’s rebellion and the Hojo clan’s restoration?

I haven’t seen Assclass, but apparently the mangaka is really well known for his crazy reaction faces and memes and I’m loving them in this series. Suwa’s faces and Tokiyuki’s reactions have me in stitches constantly 😂 and a spirit bomb reference was so damn random

Suwa’s reveal of his god powers was probably the best animated moment of the episode and so cool. Stopping the rain and having thousands of people loyal to your cause gather out of nowhere is definitely enough to convince Tokiyuki to study lmao.

Loved seeing Shizuku, Kojiro and the rest of the squad taking on their first test as a team. The boar was a tuff first for, but using all of their abilities they were able to take it down. They’re going to make a great team and the dynamic reminds me a lot of Ars and his retainers from Kantei Skill last season. I loved the concept of recruiting people to join the cause from unconventional parts of society and it seems like we’re gonna have some of that on this show too!

Really good episode, can’t wait for the next.

This could be so much better if they just don't do comedy. Everything Suwa does is made as a joke hard to comprehend what's real or not.
The other characters are great, plot is good, animation is superb. Although a slow as expected overall good enough.

The elusive warriors have been formally christened! Tokiyuki has his strong group of new retainers, his most loyal followers. Since everyone from before either died or betrayed them Tokiyuki has to build back up his support network. Those around him have now proven their strength and loyalty. Shizuku, Ayako and Kojirou are great retainers for Tokiyuki to start with. They're all around the same age so they can grow and bond together. They play like friends do and without forgetting that Tokiyuki is their lord and deserves reverence. Their hunt against the demon boar was cool. All of them working together well but still being goofy like kids are. Tokiyuki had been disillusioned about how effective Yorishige could actually help him. Running away in the rain so no one would go after him. Yorishige saying hes a god did sound flamboyant at first but the respect he commands over his people along with all the strange things he's done seem to indicate there's more to him. Maybe not a full fledged god but Yorishige is something else, Tokiyuki is lucky to have him on his side. Now they will have to journey around finding more allies for Tokiyuki to recruit.

Tokiyuki is now tasked with learning from his retainers in order to work together as a team. They were successful in taking down the Ox Demon although sleazy Suwa ate all of their meat. They killed me with that Dragon Ball Spirit Bomb reference(RIP Toriyama) and this was another well animated that reminds me of watching anime from the mid 2000s.

Go Elusive Warriors!!!

Don't be idiotic, different works from the same author are always going to be compared, and that's even besides the point, even not comparing it to the author's other work the comedy is still bad. I just made a comparison cause I know the author can write better when it comes to switching from comedy to drama.

Not the kind of gathering.. of loyal people that is, I was expecting lol. But that rain animation was chef's kiss. Series truly never missing when it comes to that one "standout" moment every episode.

By the way, not to mention that dragon ball reference out of absolutely nowhere lol. Very serious with their comedy as ever.

@Dukino and next moment the people weren't motivated/acting. The character is way too over-dramatic ik that's the point but still it's annoying sometimes.

Another great episode a lot of y’all saying it was a slower paced episode like it’s bad not every anime is gonna have action packed pacing type episode yk it’s good to slow down and focus on the characters more like how this episode did nonetheless I loved this episode it was great as usual for me and near the end of the episode was action packed with them killing off the boar🔥

The boar fight was cool the transition from the boar about to get impaled in the stone to Tokiyuki stepping into the hot springs was a really cool way to show us they won the battle😩

I see a lot of y’all complaint about the comedy and tbh I do not see anything wrong with tbh the Spirit Bomb DBZ edit legit made me burst out laughing this show is hilarious to me😭

Ending was ominous as hell I wonder what they’re gonna do to my bro Goj- I mean Yorishige🧐

The rain stopping scene was amazing bro Cloverworks still going crazy with the animation even during slower episodes these guys just keep blessing our eyes man😫🔥 (laughed out loud when Yorishige told the bystanders to go home🤣🤣)

This episode was slower, but I really appreciate that the quality hasn't dropped. Tokiyuki's companions make a good group, and I like that they seem unconditionally loyal to him.

It's interesting that it looks like they're going to use Tokiyuki's way of running away as a fighting method. Quite intriguing.

So Clearly there’s gonna be a time skip or something like that based off this episode and past episodes. How long y’all think it’s gonna be? How old will the protagonist and the squad be when this story is finally over?

Random but art style and animation wise this anime is amongst the best in my opinion and can see this being known as one of the best sleeper new gen.

I like the artwork a lot, but there too many cost cutting scenes in the animation this episode. I like the MC, and his retainers are pretty cool. But that priest/god might be even more irritating then Zenitsu. Someone slap him, please.

This passes the 3 eps test with a B-, but I have some hopes this could move up into the B+ range. So I'll be hanging around for a couple more episodes at least.

The story feels extremely clunky and unfunny. I was constantly going "???" throughout the episode.

Meanwhile, the animation is still so much fun and expressive, even if the art was somewhat simplified during the raindrops and the boar chase sequences. Still really enjoyed them.

I'm still not sure if I'm enjoying this overall...

I had to laugh at the dragonball reference. The father is a glutton. He is the comic relief.

But too bad, his enemies caught on him. I don't think he will be killed because he provides the only comic relief here. It will be such a shame if it happens.

The second part of the episode was a lot of fun! I really liked getting to watch the group interact together and show their individual talents.

Also, I thought the scene on the mountain, with the rain and the slow-motion, was a thing of beauty! A small detail I really enjoyed was how we saw the lightning before we heard the thunder, something which the vast majority of productions, both animated and live-action constantly get wrong.

Tokiyuki being folllowing behind by Yorushige and the kids to his domain of the Suwa Grand Shrine, the Shinto priest sure has lots of jokes and gags prepared for him in the midst of becoming a hero to take back Ashikaga. But being raised as a puppet ruler, it only exacerbates the reason for his elusiveness, and to make things even clearer, Yorushige being a god...just makes sense of the Suwa Sect, the people who believe in such a god like the Shinto priest. In actual fact...it was all an act lols, what a gimp of an impact, I LOLed hard on Yorushige's comedy, which was frankly great.

Back to the serious stuff, having Shizuku, Kojiro and Ayako as Tokiyuki's retainers (aside from the hilarious Dragon Ball spirit bomb reference), the kids are truly acting like their age, and even in their hunting, the comedy is infused into it, which is OK, until the Ox Demon Botan shows up, testing the quad's mantle as a party together, which they succeeded. Too bad that Yorushige is being a gluttony of a god.

The Elusive Warriors, what a great name for a party.
