That's what I loved about 'Oshi no Ko,' how it detailed the terrible side of the entertainment industry.

For some reason, the author, with all her work related to her anime, manga, and theater production, reminded me of Oda being busy with the anime, manga, and live-action adaptation, even reporting that he only slept three hours a day.

The good thing is that Abiko understood things a bit with Yoriko's help and set aside his ego and fear of failure.

Finally got to see Ruby and Mem-cho even though it was brief.

The best Oshi no Ko episode in season 2 so far, I cried when Abiko sensei expressed her heart TwT.

I already loved the ED week 1, but let me tell you that this shit is absolutely hitting week 3, I really liked the first season’s ED but this one beats it for me. And this was quite the episode, as expected Aqua was won over by this new type of play, but to me that looks more like a fusion of a movie and play than just a play, I’d say it’s a completely separate experience, but I did really like what the director said about GOA and watching the reactions of people as they leave, that must be a great feeling. And this experience didn’t just leave Aqua with a more positive opinion of plays, it also made him realize how good GOA’s script was for their own play, and how Abiko is in way over her head on rewriting it, so it was time to convince her to back down through Sweet Today’s mangaka. Also, Akane was lookin babe’d up during that date, love it.

But as it turns out, there was still no taking Abiko off the project, although this did give us quite the emotional and verbal mangaka brawl, along with a lot of insight on what mangakas go through when they hit it big and write a weekly serialized manga, it’s upsetting stuff, especially because of how real it is, but I really loved that moment between the two mangakas, probably my favorite moment of Season 2 so far. And afterward Abiko went off to see the type of play she’s supposed to be writing a script for, I was confident at first she’d absolutely be writing this play but now I’m not after all the stuff in this episode, maybe we might see Abiko work with GOA instead of on her own, that would be cool.

I haven't read many mangas and most of them are just the manga that wouldn't get Anime Adaption or has bad adaptation, and so this is my first time seeing a manga that I read get a great adaptation and it felt good (read the manga after season 1)

Beautiful episode, I love the way some scenes in oshi no ko have highlighted colors in melancholic moments like at the end of the episode...

This episode showed how difficult the life of a mangaka is, a beautiful episode, the best of the three that have come out so far:3

Fr though just have the author check out a 2.5 stage play. Would make it much easier if they did this at the start instead of having Aqua an actor hand some tickets through another mangaka.

Still, this episode really showed more of a mangaka's perspective and just once again how badly of a condition most work in. I hope the Tokyo Blade author after seeing this play is more understanding of Goa and actually works with Goa on the script. Also, they really pulled the my manga has more sales card lol.

Aqua and Akane's date was also nice. We also got a bit of Ruby and her classmates. Kana also nice. Melt still hated by the mangaka as expected.

More importantly, we got MEM-CHO!

Really good episode. I love how they delved into the world of a manga artist. I feel like Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari definitely put some of their personal feelings and insight into the two mangaka characters.

The scene with Abiko and Yoriko's argument was done amazingly. Abiko's seiyuu especially did an incredible job.

This was my favorite episode of the season so far and the first one that showed the brilliance the first season had been. Season 2’s premier was mostly a recap/setting things up episode and not enough happened in the second episode to move things along meaningfully, while I also felt it lacked in the insights into the industry and the character dynamics that make the show so interesting at its best.

This one has all of that a good amount - good insights into the darker underbelly of the entertainment industry, great character dynamics and interactions, including even between newer ones that on paper we shouldn’t be as invested in as the episode makes us, and also Akane looking great in that outfit she wears to the lunch at the Sweet Today author’s place, and Kana and Ruby looking great too, lol.

Good episode. Now we’re starting to get into the swing of things. Bring on the rest of the season. Hopefully it keeps this pace going.

DAMN, THIS EPISODE MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH YORIKO, SHE IS SO CUTE AND AWESOME AND BEAUTIFUL, FUCK.

Should we support the writer that wrote "bad" plot but adores his job, or the mangaka that loves her creations but cries over it?
I know I'm not supporting the one that is a piece of shit.
"uuuuuh I have social anxiety buuuuuuuuuu" well I don't give a shit, fuck you, worst character in this show by far, and the worst character I've seen all year.

Btw it should be ilegal that we had to wait for episode 3 to see Mem-Cho again for like 30 seconds and hear her say like 3 words, MEM-CHO MY BELOVED.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

I squarely love this for the art style. To me, I wish they'd focus more on who killed Ai, but whatever.

The girls are so damn cute, Akane with long hair is adorable, and Kana has been my fave since season 1.

The new Mangaka is an excellent addition to the story, so she's exciting too.

Overall only a 7.6/10, but still very worth watching

Aqua and the Love today mangaka give the Abiko nudge to communicate with other and see thing halfway in their own way. No one want their work to be tarnished but not all is bad if she give them a chance.

I wonder what the mangaka and studio irl is like this.. one need to compromised with other to make an anime or stage play. The parody of Prince off tennis is amazing.

I'm afraid this episode was peak ladies and gentlemen. Yoriko and Abiko's argument and talk was so good.

I also like how that flashback later on in the episode where Abiko was sharing with Yoriko that Tokyo Blade got an anime leads back to Ruby's conversation with Frill and Minami, artists in the same line of work can see those kinds of things as bragging.

Also just found out now that StageAround was apparently a real thing, but unfortunately closed down recently, which sucks, cause it really sounds like a cool concept.

Yoriko stocks through the roof this episode, best girl next to Kana for me.

B-Komachi is making waves, though Ruby wants to be exposed to the industry more, and Kana is forced to retreat for the time being.

While Tokyo Blade's script is being redone, Akane brings Aqua to Stage Around to experience the pseudo-4DX theater experience, where the Tokyo Blade play would also have its place forthcoming. Seemingly, producer Sumiaki is also there, but after listening to Abiko's qualms, she is to blame also for not realizing how the venue itself can elevate her work, despite Smash Heaven also being written by GOA, which shows his professional capability of using Stage Around to full effect. If only things between the two could bridge, then Tokyo Blade's stage play would have no problem at all. The meet between the cast of Sweet Today alongside Yoriko, and she still gives Melt the cold shoulder lols. And between her and Abiko Samejima, the aloof author is a young woman of few words, but she's VERY passionate of her work, of which Yoriko has a hard job of being an editor to constantly monitor her.

And look what happened to Sweet Today back in Season 1, which explains why Abiko didn't want her work to crash and burn as she looks up to Yoriko being a source of inspiration. Obviously, Aqua can't just stand by and do nothing, and decides to give a push to the overworked Abiko, who has missed her weekly deadline for a Weekly Jump publication, which can actually kill people if they don't correct themselves. And that's the shtick of how both Abiko and Yoriko are peas in a pod being creators who're jealous of each other's success enough, in an industry where adaptations are everything, and adapting to change is the most important aspect of the media industry, other than the authors who work hard to see their visions come to life. And as for Aqua's push...it's the same thing as what Akane did to him: go experience what theater is really like.

Mangakas are also people, but they also need to listen to some reasoning enough when it comes to adaptations.

The date that Akane and Aqua had in viewing a stage play in a venue that unique was pretty fun. Her reaction to hearing Aqua praising the stage play afterwards was so damn cute!

The best part of the episode for me was Abiko and Yoriko. I guess this could be a hot take, but I don't hate Abiko at all. I do sympathise with her considering how much pressure she's under, but it's also true that a large portion of her issues is mainly her own fault and lashing out to blame others for those issues only made her situation worse.

Yoriko proves herself to being a great senpai to Abiko by helping her out with the late manuscript, which led to the heated in-between retorts and insults between both authors, but thanks to that, it did help Abiko to open up about her issues and her cry for help, which Yoriko did well by being there for her. Not only that, but thanks to Aqua, Abiko will now see the same stage play at that venue, so it should open up her eyes more and, hopefully, lead to a peaceful solution to the stage play of her manga series.

Here's hoping that GOA stays on, since he hasn't done anything wrong in my eyes.

That weekly mangaka life is no joke, Abiko looked horrible when Kichijoji showed up to her place. This is why I’ll never complain when One Piece or JJK or any weekly series goes on an extended break because of the author’s health. They’re literally killing themselves.

Abiko still remains as stubborn as ever but it seems like letting her frustrations out during that argument with Kichijoji should set her straight. No mangaka wants to see their work, their pride and joy tarnished, but sometimes you just have to take a step back and let the people in charge of the play/anime/live action series, etc just do their thing. Hopefully seeing the play that Akane and Aqua saw will change her mind.
@thebrentinator24

Compared to 40 years ago, the working environment for cartoonists involved in weekly serialization has improved.
One veteran cartoonist said that in those days, he used to work on his manuscripts by placing a chair on his desk while standing. The reason for this was that he would fall asleep while working if he sat down.

Loved it, absolutely. Showing how make mangakas overwork and how difficult is to update weekly chapters, and that the color panels are something that needs extra work, so that’s why they’re special in my opinion. Recently I’ve been more into mangas and I’ve noticed that people don’t really appreciate the effort of the mangakas or artists, and people is in a rush that all they do is read the dialogue, give a sight to the drawing and go to the next page, and say it wasn’t enough.

At the beginning of the episode I thought that this episode would be the least interesting, but the confrontation between the two manga artists was interesting, after all, almost everyone here reads manga, so seeing the other side is always cool, I have the ambition to create my own manga/comic, so it somehow hit me, too I would like to create the most important masterpiece in the world haha

Loved Aqua’s and Akane’s reaction to the pingpong stage play, their visit to the manga artist and then the insight and conversation between the two manga artists, really sweet and deep. I’m rooting for her and hope she’ll be more happy with the stage play when she watched the pingpong one.

I'll give Aqua the fact that I also don't get the appeal of stage plays but I've also never been to one to understand them either. Also, it's good to see some good feedback for Goa after what happened last episode with Abiko being a dipshit and doing it in his episode as well with comments like "90% of the creative work is bad". Yeah, screw you.

The banter with her sensei was good though, it made them closer and broke the tension. More of that please.
