I like how there wasn't much recap and it got straight to the point. Even though I don't thnk Senya changed too much, he still feels more mature than before. Looking forward to all the character development and plot again. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing Senya's growth.

There's still some evident psychological drama this episode too. But seriously, this new season's first episode started with a bang. Some of these characters just had to witness tragedy already.

Part 2 of the return of mangaka Satoshi Mizukami's Sengoku Youko, covering The Chaos of a Thousand Demons arc, this is a rather long arc to complete the adaptation of the manga.

It's been a while to see Shinsuke, with katawara Furukoke, so flustered with Senya after his split with Jinun after seemingly having lost his memory, and living amongst the people the likes of kids like Tsukiko (who's the strongest), living a fresh life anew to make some friends wthin the small human-katawara village they reside in. But it's clear that the katawara wtihin the village wants to form their own nation when they kidnap the kids for fodder, and Shinsuke may have helped a bit, and Senya growing into his katawara counterpart to help save the kids, it's his good deal that at least saved the village.

Without the siblings of Tama and Jinka around, Senya is the new MC of Part 2, hearing the cries of the katawara on their road to dominion. Senya seems like a good fit for the village even with Shinsuke's warning that they must leave the village, and this is only heeded when a regional god comes attacking the village, forcing Senya to act. The lingering of the Group of Five, also known as the Thousandfold Wonder, is a notorious group, but the village itself has been tarnished to death, including Tsukiko's father. And with that, both Shinsuke and Senya make haste to leave the village and find the thousand-tailed fox...but not without Tsukiko?

A decent return to Senkoku Youko, this 2-cour Part 2 will be quite the ride after Winter's Part 1.

Only a season break and we're right back into the world of Sengoku Youko, this time for the Thousandfold Chaos Arc.

Non-CGI dragon right off the bat is a VERY good sign. Though this being White Fox, no surprises there. Just as teased in the finale last season, Senya'll be our new MC, with Shinsuke being the only other person from the first arc still here. Looks like Tsukiko's going to be Senya's Shakuyaku... which doesn't bode well, knowing what happened to her. But wow, who woulda thunk it, Shinsuke actually looked like a MC for a while... a while because bro was piss drunk apparently lol.

Senya was there to save the day though, with that beauty of an attack. Though can't say for the rest. Yikes, animation looked rough for a FIRST episode. They're pouring all the money into the big attacks it seems. Looks like Shinsuke's looking for Jinka, and I would assume Tama's doing the same, and that's why she isn't here? I forgot what happened to her in the finale episode lol. Who would also thunk it that Shinsuke of all people would become a sensei though lol.

I feel like I'm the sole STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION fan here, so ofc I think that this OP is one hell of a banger.

I don't see the whole season being about finding Jinka, but at the same time, what else is there to do...?

Ok enough start, but personally think everything moving too fast, events happened in an instant and concluded without proper aftermath.

Ok we got a new trio. I like this. Lets just hope the girl ends up better this time.

Shinsuke in a teacher/mentor position now though he's still pretty useless lol despite having a magic sword. Honestly in terms of swordsmanship could the little girl be better?

Man its so heartbreaking Tsukiko's dad not only died but by Senyas hand.Honestly thought i completely forgot how last season ended when they showed Shinsuke taking care of Senya.

Its a good start, but do feel like the production took a hit compared to first season that i thought had great production all the way.

Glad to have this back, was one of my fave shows a few seasons ago and a def hidden gem, but production quality for sure took a nosedive. Outside of a few nice set pieces it looked rough at times.. the story itself was solid felt a little rushed at times but I get that they wanted to end off at Tsukiko joining up and Shinsuke creating a new trio.

Damn, I wish we could’ve had one full peaceful episode before people started getting their heads blown off and ripped apart and mad gods showing up in the village lmaoo. Things were going so well for Senya and it felt like he finally found a home and started a new life and boom it comes crashing down. Reminding us that nowhere is truly safe in this world.

RIP Tsukiko’s dad. She looks like she’ll be this season’s Shaku.. hopefully she has a much better fate than her.. unlike last time, it’s Shinsuke putting a team together to go on a journey to find Jinka and Tama. This time he’ll have the leadership role. I’m looking forward to seeing where this season goes and hopefully the production quality isn’t as bad as this throughout… you usually want to make a good first impression in the premiere.. either way I love the characters and world so I’m very excited.

On the bright side, more Tama and her mom πŸ™πŸΎ also stereodive on the OP??

Also glad to see this back. But they really rushed through the episode to set the three of them on the road. The production quality is also a little worrying.

Its finally here and its beautiful, white fox did a good job as always and the premise of this sequel is really interesting for now, i'm not too fan of the amnesia but still really curious to see where it goes

Also like said on top of the thread opening's song is an absolute banger and having the first opening as reference i can imagine the visual will be a spectacle too.

So come on put it to +7 rating already this and season 1

Is it just me or does production seem a bit rough...? That first episode just seemed off, I'm very hesitant with this going forward. First season/part/cour/arc whatever you want to call was very well done, but this seemed lacking in places, and we're just on the first episode.

There's definitely some rough patches but it's to be expected of considering there's another 21 episodes left and ReZero in the fall. Hopefully they'll focus on making the best battles look good while skimping out on the small battles.

Well, it's back. I remember this originally being 37 episodes, thinking that it'll be airing without any breaks in between, but then really disappointed that it was going to actually end up having a break in between, and split up into parts. Well, anyway, the siblings seem to be absent in this episode. So now it seems the show is going to focus on Senya, Shinsuke and new character Tsukiko for now. Supposedly, this is where the show starts getting really good. Otherwise the manga wouldn't have such a high rating on this site.

Also, Sengoku Youko > The Elusive Samurai.

Your first four questions are answered at the end of the first season and the beginning of this episode.

And Senya has lost all his memories, including how to properly wield his power. He can't protect anyone if he can't properly wield his power.

As someone who's read the manga for both, I wouldn't compare the two since they're both pretty different, with the only thing in common being that they're both set in old Japan (but even then, the time periods are different I think). Elusive Samurai is based on real history while Sengoku Youko is more fantasy with loose ties to real history. And what the stories for each are trying to do are pretty different from each other.

I liked the previous season so much I skipped out on any details on the follow up so I'm kind of disappointed to find out Jinka and Tama are missing. Great that Shinsuke's back, but I never really cared for Senya or his powers so feels like kind of a disappointing bait and switch (my own fault, to be fair.)

Decent episode with some solid action and music. Don't care about Senya so the plot didn't really grab me, but I wasn't expecting Tsukiko to tag along after what happened to her father. Even if only for the action and music I'll stick with this, since I liked the first half hopefully the story delivers in the coming episodes.

Lol I watched almost 2 full episodes before realising this is a part 2 of an anime lmaooo. On the site that I'm watching it only showed 3 episodes and the name was just 'Sengoku Youko' no part 2 or other name oops. I did feel like the story was a bit confusing but I thought it's the type of series that drops the lore along the season ahaha. On the other hand, it looks like I have 13 previous episodes to binge which is neat. No idea who the charas are but I'm cheering on the kid and drunk uncle. Is this what it felt like to watch shows as a kid when we didn't gaf about episodes order or season? Tbh, it's still enjoyable ^^

There was a recap episode. It recapped the events of Season 1/Part 1. But for some reason, it's not listed on MAL. I appreciated the recap since I forgot a lot of the story. It was a nice refresher and it made it so you didn't have to rewatch the first 13 episodes. But sadly, because of the recap this season started a few weeks later than other Summer anime. Sengoku Youko is already pretty niche so I doubt this helped its popularity.

Anyway, the first episode with the new protagonist Senya. Might be one of the few times where I liked the amnesia cliche because it'll make it easier to follow Senya as the new protagonist. And looks like Senya has some demons inside him that he'll need to fight. Gonna be interesting.

Sad that Senya unintentionally killed Tsukiko's dad. That was messed up. And he indirectly caused the chaos in the village too. But nobody is blaming him. I guess they didn't see the shit he caused or they're more forgiving than most people. Since it's a village with both humans and katawara living together in harmony it's possible. It's wild how nobody turned on the katawara residents after some katawara bandits kidnapped their children. Modern-day racism has warped my mind. I was sure the humans were gonna make up some BS excuse to blame the katawaras even though they had nothing to do with the crime.

Jinka lost his mind at the end of Part 1 so it makes sense why he's not here. But what happened to Tama? I wonder where she is.

Tsukiko joins Shinsuke and Senya's party even though Senya was indirectly responsible for killing her father. What's gonna happen to her mother?

This Season looks promising. Only issue is that the 2nd part of this season will coincide with the 1st part of Re:ZERO Season 3. Considering how Re:ZERO is one of the biggest moneymakers of Kadokawa and how demanding both parts of Season 3 is gonna be I'm afraid that Sengoku Youko might get shafted. Weird how originally I was afraid of the opposite happening. Regardless, looking forward to watching both.
