| Even for a fantasy anime, I think this has a strange premise. Rick, the main guy, tries to prove himself despite his status. He's also challenged right off the bat so we see a glimpse of his skills. I've read tha manga version for this before and artwork is mostly reflective of the style. Might have to get used to some of those character reactions though. Some of the characters have very punchable faces such as Freed. The exam stuff aside, going to see how they plan to adapt rest of the story. |

| Novelist Kiraku Kishima's to what might seem like a typical OP MC comedy show, shows some promises. Akira Kushida's OP is an interesting one, I'll give that. Not even five minutes in and bootleg Kenshirou over here already is brining attention to himself and defeating an A-rank and destroying the magic sphere that tests that is needed to be an OP MC. Also what's up with when the MC isn't a teen or kid and they make them an adult, they have to be exactly 32? Kafka was 32 too lol. Wouldn't be an OP MC show either without the MC passing their magic exam thing with flying colors. Though at the very least the reason he's OP actually makes sense unlike most OP MC shows, with him not only used to work at a guild, but also being a part of that super strong party. But obviously dude is all strength no brain, cause no fucking way he thought that noble lady's attack was intentional... lmaoooo. Then she did it again... and luckily thanks to it she survived, because if she got hit with that punch she would've BEEN DEAD. Noble lady though seems to be the tsundere of the show. A pretty fun premiere, all generic troupes considered lols. Could see this being the trashy fantasy show of the season. |

| The first fantasy show of the Summer season, and it has to be yet ANOTHER Ossan-centric show, courtesy of novelist Kiraku Kishima and his adult-centric works. Akira Kushida's OP...is cringe-worth ironically catchy with the old-school 90s vibes going for it, I just love it. The life of 32-year-old adventurer Rick Gladiatol, having been rigorously trained for the E-rank exam for the 2 years he's gone, he sure tries hard, even going into his 30s. But one thing's for sure: he's not just any ordinary examinee, but one who has been trained by the strongest Guild of Orichalcum Fist, and tries not to show it intentionally throughout the exam being tested as an even lower F-ranker...which the examiners think that he should give up early, and even more, the examinees are quite surprised at how Rick stood out unknowingly. Of course, the other examinees, like the famous Diarmuit royal family of child prodigy brother Freed and older sister Angelica are there just to show off their skills, and Rick only has his maid of Reanette to go by helping him navigate through the exam. But because Rick's training proved his calibre, the duel of him against Angelica...is such a slowpoke of a joke that no matter her speed, she couldn't catch up to him. Rick's power is so great, that his previous Receptionist job of 14 years...doesn't really compare to who he is now. NGL, Rick looks like the Wish.com equivalent of Hokuto no Ken a.k.a Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro, if he Isekaied into another world, being so OP that he doesn't even know it lols. If this is what to be expected of the show's comedy, then I'm in for the long haul. This could be a fun show to not be taken seriously...? |

| Pretty fun first episode, though seems like it going to be flashback heavy and the fallback joke of Rick underestimating his strength will be ever presence. Still, looking forward to what more it can offer.  |

| I liked the second part with the duel. Angelica is a fun character. The gimmick with the MC is still acceptable, but will definitely get old very fast. As expected, the pantyshots were censored. Doesn't seem like I'll be watching this show for long but I guess I'll try another episode or two... |
| Neither new nor creative story so far but entertaining enough. Something feels off about animation though. He's suppose to have this incredible strength but it doesn't feel like that watching. Perhaps because they are not animating hits themselves and just splatter something over it to hide lack of details. |

| Summer 2024 is underway now. Man I swear these anime act like you got one foot in the grave at 30 💀 calling my man ossan when he’s just barely starting the prime of his life is crazy. That OP is definitely one of the openings of all time.. towards the bottom end of all em lmao. First episode was pretty fun but I can already see the “I don’t know my own strength” gimmick getting old after a while. The waifus will carry hard, especially Angelica.. speaking of which it wouldn’t be a fantasy anime if we didn’t have a blonde haired Angelica tsundere character, lmao. Her fight with Rick was pretty funny with all the miscues and what not, but I hate that it’s censored from what I’ve seen online 🤦🏽♂️ free the pantsu shots! Comedy was decent, did get a few chuckles out of me. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but it definitely seems better than Re:Monster which I wasted 3 months with so there ya go 😂. Hopefully the can keep things interesting with Rick’s abilities and the fights. |

| @MysticMusician The most extreme examples I can think of are a 14 year old and a 18 year old character getting called baasan and ossan respectfully, lol. It's all relative. |

| Good first episode. Everyone keeps treating him like he is weak loser, but worst of all, he himself treats himself like he is a weak loser and everyone must be stronger than him. During the fight with the 2nd Rank, he totally had no clue what was happening. I enjoyed the silliness and humor. |
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.  |

| The overall animation and art style are quite decent, that aside, it's annoying how someone can be so oblivious of their strength even after seeing how much he can do in a single punch, but then again it is still the 1st episode, I hope this mc won't be this brain dead for the whole season. |

| I'm really not that big of a fan, of the "dense and unaware of how actually strong I am" MCs, played off as comedic. Just like in this series, the writing usually isn't strong enough to convince the viewer that this should be the case. Nothing leads me to believe that this guy should be blissfully unaware of things in this show, not the "trained in the mountains for two years" (which seems to be the writers main reason, lol), nor anything else yet. What makes it even worse is that this guy was supposedly a guild receptionist for 14 years XD, and is still so woefully ignorant. I feel like I'm going to be enjoying the strongest party, more than the actual MC in this one. |

| Solid right out of the gate. Good sound work. Great performances by the seiyuus. Albit simplistic, but fine combat animation. The directing here shines. To bridge that gap. The overall production value is consistent and high. Facial animations, movement, and expressiveness all very high as well. If the combat sequences were actually "animated". Instead of the very clear inner dialogue and extended back and forth. With the main character. Ie with the movements and draw being the fight. A la solo leveling, or any other high quality work that lives on basically just that. Then I think I would have given this an initial evaluation of higher than a 7/10. Probably a 8/10. It has everything else besides the combat. Which, again, appears to be a feature of the adaption. Likely of the source author's storytelling style. Not really necessarily something I believe is cut due to poor faith. Besides insofar its been handle well by the director. So this is definitely one I will continue with this season. |
