this episode in my opinion is one big roller coster between sad, laughter and crying. i cant go in ditail because i'm suck in english but in my opinion this is probably the best episode of the season by far. not for animation view but from emotion and how i felt after i finished it.

So I have to disagree here. I liked the movie theater segment. I'm not very fond of Takei. The rest of this episode feels much more like Kotaro is becoming a vessel for all forms of child abuse in general, as opposed to being his own character. I think he felt too much like an adult in this one as well. I know the show is trying hard to emulate parentification in children, but I think it overreaches in this episode. I'm hoping the next episode is better because it's starting to feel less like a cast of characters dealing with their own traumas as defacto guardians of an abused kid, and more issue of the week. I really want to see the adults develop more and get Kotaro to start coming out of his shell.

Movie time, taking those three with him, I feel bad for Manga-ka.
Glad they went back to watch the movie Kotaro wanted to watch, it was so dead though, least that meant he could repeat the words as usual.
Who are you? I had no idea you were Yakuza's son...... Really lmfao.
It looks like Hostess has straight up been replaced, a new woman has moved into her place and her place has been taken in the opening.
I guess she ain't coming back, damn this show is going for brutal realism.
New woman aint good with kids, Kotaro decides to help her and kinda mess with her.
Kotaro puts on weight and becomes a chunky monkey, thanks to his friends, it does make sense since he's faced true hunger.
His mother wore gloves to touch him, and new woman went through the same thing, so messed up.
What Kotora has gone through has given him a weird way of looking at things, it also show he thinks his mother is coming back, so he really doesn't know she's dead.
Kotaro joins a football club, the other kid is a flincher, it was clear he had issues with shouting, poor kid, also nice goal.
“I just spent the last two years thinking that you guys knew more than me about life and I just found out that you guys are just as dumb as me.” “Duh-doy.” “Yeah, duh-doy.”

i took a break from this show for about a month i think. not because i don't like it, but because it's an emotional rollercoaster for me

and fooork. this episode was worth the wait. tamaru's son. karino chaperoning the children. the new lady tenant who's afraid of children because of her own sordid past, mingling with kotaro's own troubled past

ooof. fantastic episode. i laughed a lot. and cried. this show is superb

8 or 9/10

I didn't know this was a thing that happened. I can kind of see why if you suffer from a phobia of germs or something, but Takei's mom's total disgust for her was painful and beyond that.

And the Hide stuff was really relatable to me so that was a painful segment lol. I'm glad Kotaro was able to help snap him out of it. I hope we see more of them together in the future

This show continues to surprise me. It's both wholesome and melancholic

Respect to Takei for trying to help Kotarou despite her fear for children, still amusing to see Kotarou and the other kids chasing her.

lmao the way the yakuza kids walked was so funny. His dad could've been more understanding. Glad Kotaro stuck up for him haha.
The thing with his mum and the gloves was pretty heartbreaking, he can't catch a break this kid!
Scoring the goal with his face too was great hahaha

Man this show is teaching me so much in a way that is heart-breaking but at the same time keeps making me want more due to how it manages to keep everything balanced with comedy and moments of joy.

I know some mothers struggle with their child for alot of different reasons. sometimes the husband and father doesn't give them the support they need, or the people around them make comments and remarks that add to the psychological burden, which can lead to rejection of the child. The way a Child sees things aswell the perspective of a child's innocence compared to one who grew up under those conditions.

The food aspect made sense to me, mainly because I was raised with the same mind set, Food is precious you must eat everything from the bowl and plate, nothing is to be wasted.

The new neighbor girl is good but she has PTSD because of her mother who was touching her with gloves because he didn't like kids, so she ends up being the same :S And seems like Kotarou's mother did it as well, this is awful

All of the characters in this show have difficult lives, I love how they do not succumb to the pain and move on.

Starting to get a bit too trigger happy with the "tragic pasts" here, particularly in regards to both Kotaro and Takei's mothers apparently refusing to touch them with anything other than disposable gloves; it comes across as too petty and unlikely to be a shared circumstance.

I'm wondering if these episodes are written based on problems actively happening in Japan... I've never heard of neglectful parents going to the point of using gloves for having to touch the child but in this ep we get two of those situations happening. I need to hear what is going on in Japan (besides the terrible demographics and trying to combat low birthing rates with anime lol)
