I’ve been an anime fan since around 2008 or 2009 when I got into Rurouni Kenshin (1st) and Rumiko Takahashi shows like InuYasha and Ranma through my otaku friends at the time. It was back when I was around 13 though those friends had been talking about anime for about a year or two prior to when I finally got into it myself. Not to mention the other anime I encountered before I became a fan or even knew what anime was. I had a MAL previously, but forgot my login because I never used MAL. Instead I cataloged the anime I watched myself. I didn’t start using MAL more regularly until I got into seasonal anime in Fall 2016. Before 2016, I usually watched pre 2010 anime online using whatever sources I could find.

During 2016, I was just getting over an anime slump from high school. I didn’t watch anime from 2012-2013. On the occasion I did watch anime it was mostly rewatches of Rurouni Kenshin, InuYasha, Ranma, and so on. I started getting back into anime in 2014 when I watched Detective Conan during my junior year, but I wasn’t full on otaku again until college. (Aug 2015-)

**My 10/10 List**

•Prince of Tennis - Best sports anime. Taught me so much about tennis. Exactly what I want out of a sports anime.

•Marmalade Boy - Best drama / romance. One of my favorite OST.

•YYH - Best shounen battle anime.

•Nausicaä - Favorite Ghibli movie. Amazing OST. Memorable Characters.

•Kodocha - Best childhood romance. Memorable OST. Ends in an acceptable place. Lots of progress for the type of romance it is. Exactly what I value in romance.

•Code Geass- Revenge story. Lots of twists and turns even though some are ridiculous and flaws imo. Memorable OST. I can almost name every track from memory. Has some of my favorite characters in anime. Lelouch and CC.

•K On! - Best 4 girls show. Love the OST. I don’t think I’ve seen a better club anime than this one.

•B gata H Kei - Hilariously charming. Reminds me of another 10/10 anime called Kare Kano. Not as good, but close. These types of female MCs might be a favorite of mine.

•Log Horizon: Best modern isekai. I want more time in the world, but this is enough.

•Given: best new yaoi franchise

•Junjou Romantica: Having watched and rewatched the anime and read and reread the manga, this is a new favorite. Memorable OST/pairings. MisakixAkihiko forever. It’s flawed, but still a favorite. I’ve probably consumed it over 30x by now. Favorite gay romance.

•Steins; Gate: Best science fiction story. Memorable OST.

•Yuru Camp: One of the better atmosphere shows with a great OST. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed iyashikei so much before.

•Slime- So much fun. Reminded me how fun these shows can be. I needed that. I’m so ready for s2.

•Kare Kano: Best romance of all time. Hands down. I haven’t seen anything better in the 7+ years since watching this for the first time. Ending is not great leaving the show unfinished, but it’s amazing nonetheless. I’ve heard the rest wasn’t as great as the anime anyway. Her circumstances were at least finished and his circumstances were introduced before the end.

•Ao-chan Can’t Study: Hilariously charming like B Gata H Kei, but the female MC goes to the other extreme. It was entertaining seeing the pervert character have a daughter.
