Enjoyed the first three episodes a lot, although this last one was kinda unexpected. Didn't know Nanahoshi was going to be important so soon in the season. Good to see the tall dude back. Let's see what the sisters can bring to this new season.

i thought it was a bit of a shame the writer just glanced over the magical theory like that with generalized expressions to give the appearance of technical discussion. i felt that was rather lazy of them and detracted from the quality of the episode and world building in general, which was supposed to be one of this series strong points. because the fact remains even if they didn't want to research other fictional systems or even draw inspiration from the actual real life esoteric, metaphysical, and spiritual theories that all fictional magic is inspired from, they literally could've just done that one thing any person with basic literature skills does and just "made something up".

They probably cut a lot of it to fit what they can before moving onto the next volume

Nanahoshi suffered a setback but Rudeus recognizes her despair and set to bring her out of it by enlisting the help of his group of close friends. He succeeded and Nanahoshi found a way to complete her summoning circle magic for the first time. The ED song is great and it's a nice song originally by Under Graph in 2005.

Good call from Rudy to actually go back and try to calm Nanahoshi down. Otherwise she might use that dagger he confiscated to do something stupid.

Rudeus receives a letter from his father, Paul, informing him that his younger sisters, Norn and Aisha, are being sent to join him, accompanied by an escort for their safety. Meanwhile, Nanahoshi, also from Rudeus's world, persists in her research on summoning magic to find a way back to Japan. Feeling frustrated with her repeated failures, she passes out, and Rudeus and Zanoba take her to Rudeus's house to rest. This makes Rudeus start thinking about whether she's been eating well and such. In order to help her, Rudeus gets everyone together to make some progress.

Nice to hear from Paul again after such a long time. Thinking about seeing the sisters again brings back memories of early season one. With Sylphy and the sisters going to be here again, it's like a reunion. Completely forgot about Nanahoshi's attempt to go back home, but her voice actor really nailed that frustration scene. In the end, they finally make sense of the whole thing, all thanks to Rudeus bringing everyone together, even if it was just over a bottle.

Life is indeed full of pain, so it's important to let loose sometimes... ANYWAYS, THE BOY RUIJERD IS BACK OMGGGGG.

Oh nice, Rudeus still remembers who Paul is. Though I know they still communicate through letters in their world, but this one… the reply from Paul really did take a long time lol. And hey, he still doesn’t know that his son is already married… so I hope he does get to know that before his son becomes a father himself.

Also, how typical to know that his sisters don’t get along. By the way, the bit with Nanahoshi was the first interesting thing that happened this season. I mean there’s someone who is trying their hardest to rightfully leave this world and somehow get their life back on track, but hey when she failed with that magic circle thing, and then that frustration kicked in, pretty much everyone knows what kind of words to offer, except him…

… “These things happen, don’t let it bother you”, lmaooo, someone has staked a good part of their life behind this, and that’s what you say to them, lol. Good though, in the end they managed to summon an object from another world and kind of gave enough hope to Nanahoshi.

Ruijerd being back, along with both sisters, hopefully means we're done with our playing house segment for now.

Mate, chill, 3rd Episode and allready too much world building for ya? xD

House wife Sylphie save me 😩 seeing my boy Rudy come home to best girl and a nice home cooked meal just makes my heart leap with joy. I’m more than ok with several happy slice of life episodes considering the season of suffering we had before. Rudy deserves some time to be happy and have everything go right for him for once.

It’s gonna be interesting to see how things go once his sisters get there. He and Norn didn’t get off on the right foot before.. one thing’s for sure, the Greyrat home is about to get a lot rowdier.

“I’ll do no such thing” he lied as naturally as he breathed lmao. Bro know damn well if Eris come back he folding.. but still cute to see Rudy and Sylphie getting more comfortable saying how they love each other and what not. They’re just a lot more comfortable around each other now.

Nanahoshi breakdown was so real. Hats off to the seiyuu for a job very well done. Those screams when Rudy short circuited the first summoning circle really reverberated through the tv and my soul. You could tell she put everything into that and was so confident, just for it to come crashing down. Two heads, or in this case, 5-6 heads are way better than one though. Bringing everyone together to explore some different perspectives and ideas for the summoning circle was an excellent idea and paid off.

Perhaps more importantly, now Nanahoshi has some friends. Surely one of the big reasons for her being so obsessed with going home is that she hasn’t made many connections in this world unlike Rudeus.

“You can’t live if you don’t forget everything once in a while” very wise words from Rudeus. Loved seeing Nanahoshi so happy and part of the group. Her mini arc in this episode was very well done.

Imo they soon need to start to be a bit more straightforward with the next main plot parts. This season so far ... felt a bit weaker than the previous ones. (Had all previous ones at 9/10 this one seems like 8 only atm.) The OP/ED feel less overwhelming and so far it was mainly SoL. I do not care about the sisters much. Hopefully next episode will start a new plot path again, moving away from the SoL. Either the thing with the princess or with Nanahoshi and the magic circles (continuing to make improvments there) ... could be interesting.

It was high time we started to see the results of Nanahoshi's work and it seems that in her fixation to go back home she still to 2 dimensions instead of 3. Magic circles work like circuit boards huh? Very interesting indeed to start bringing up electronics into this fantasy world, I wonder if some other related concepts will be brought up in the future.

In any case, it's good to see the more human side of her but in her ugliest form and the cheeriest one. One bottle down, new summoning to go. Meanwhile, returning characters make their way, including the 2 sisters and, of course, the long remembered Ruijerd. This is it.

Fuck, seeing depressed Nanahoshi was very painful, those screams, the facial expressions, fuck. But through all that, she was able to open up more to the people of that world, which made me happy.

Man, Wakayama Shion is really becoming one of my favorite voice actors right now, that song was perfection too. I also saw someone point out that the song is the same song Nanahoshi was humming when we first meet her in the academy, which is also a cover of a real song titled "Tsubasa" by the band Under Graph, that's fucking awesome.

Seeing Rudy be affected by Nanahoshi's state reminding him of his past was pain as well. But we got happy life, happy wife moments as well, so it's give or take for our emotions.

On even brighter side of things, RUIJERD IS BACK, LET'S GO! He's back escorting children that is.

Nanahoshi's breakdown was tough, but solutions lie ahead...

After a couple of episodes that I felt quite indifferent about, I'm glad to say that I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. Nanahoshi's mental breakdown was tough to watch, but that voice acting really conveyed her anger, and it was well done. If there's one thing that this series does really well, is having great highs, but when it's depressing, you can feel it very strongly as well. After some failures with the magic circles, it was nice to see Cliff and Zanoba put their minds together to come up with a solution for Nanahoshi, and it worked as a first step to link her back to the real world. The ending song by Nanahoshi's voice actress was a nice touch, as back in the first cour of Season 2, you could hear her hum this song. With Rujierd, Norn, and Aisha also making their first appearances in a while, I think we are heading in the right direction once again. Hopefully it stays that way.

Rudeus managing to keep his family and friends together and focused on helping Nanahoshi was truly the highlight of this episode. The series continues to excel in blending emotional depth. Also, the surprise appearance by Ruijerd, Aisha and Norn in the post-credits scene has raised my expectations for a good adaptation.

I still feel this season is really weak so far (s2 p2), but accident with Nanahoshi is the first meaninful event worthy of Mushoku Tensei this season (although they still trying hard to make it extreme slice of life as they can). Depressing, sad, strong, simply real. The best or at least worst episode of the season so far.

Glad to see Ruijerd being back, although im surprised anyone is suprised when he is literally the only one who could show up beside Paul himself (from alive people, strong enough, he was the only choice Rudy knows... unless we also count Orsted lol)
I'm super happy to see sisters back... but at the same time i'm super unhappy because partly thanks to terrible (spoiling) OP, i know it means yet another few episodes of nothing (i assume next 1-2 episodes will be about fixing they bonds and making the siblings like each other)

I really loved first season and seeing this anime go completly off its way that much is bit hurful and sad to watch. It's already been 1/4 of the season :/

@StarAlone Him reuniting and bonding with his sisters and actually getting to try and form a meaningful relationship with both of them after only one very brief interaction with both years ago ain't 'nothing'. It's a character-focused show, and the series has focused a lot on developing characters and having Rudeus build relationships, friendships that he never got to build before in his previous life. The action and adventure stuff is great but what makes this series special is more than just that. Even Hitogami from earlier told him to go to the uni to rebuild his relationship, find his confidence again and be alive as a person, something which he wasnt by the end of last season. Its the buildup here that will make the series even stronger in the long run because of these slower events.

That Nanahoshi breakdown scene was very intense. I loved how Rudeus decided to be there for her even though it wasn’t his responsibility. I loved seeing how everyone came together to try and solve her summoning circle problem. The message I got from this episode was, sometimes even a really smart person can’t do everything by themselves. Everyone needs help. (8/10)

A letter to Rudy from Paul, it's been eons forthcoming on his update, so sending Norn and Aisha on his way is fitting for his ongoing adventures. Plus, someone else is joining Rudy?

The married life is bliss to Rudy and Sylphie, though Rudy wants to correct things with Sylphie, even down to children. Nanahoshi's magic work has been proceeding normally, but the magic circles have not been working well, enough that she throws a fit of rage not being able to return to Japan after working her butt off for years. Everyone being concerned for her, especially Rudy, who knows that Nanahoshi has desperately wanted to return back to her own world.

With the same failed magic circle, Rudy works together with the others to figure out what went wrong and make a few others from scratch, and also use the doll that they found the other day to their use, making sure that the magic circle is completed without any issues. And that small circle is a success, transporting a plastic bottle to the alternate world. This is cause enough to celebrate such an achievement, and a get-together is worthy.

Nord, Aisha and Ruijerd are back, that's great.

Good for Nanahoshi, let's hope that her studies will reap fruit.

@Mattinator95 i get that, its just that they could've done a better job at cleaning up the episode and polishing the series a bit. media like all other things are a product you're selling to the audience and your craftsmanship will be apparent to anyone with a little bit of knowledge and experience. sure its something small and overall inconsequential in itself but little things add up and it can define the difference between a memorable "good" series and a masterpiece like a award winning Ghibli movie for example. (these little things add up!)

bruh why did they have to make suh an obvious shadow. one look and i could tell it was going to be ruijerd who will escort the imoutos.

good for nanahoshi though. i think they can suppose pretty much everything now with that as long as they are not too big. could be useful. they could summon guns and stuff. no sword god whatver can do anything against a machine gun. plus it would take them by surprise that such a thing can exist and ez win.

for now nanahoshi has only be doing summons but she required reverse summoning right? how she gonna achieve that. that still feels like a long way to go.

another episode which puts in perspective just how far rudy has come. happy for him.

i'm guessing next full episode will be dedicated to showing the imoutos and i hope we get more of ruijerd this time. don't just send him back after all the trouble he went through

@1pyfgcrl0 To add to that, unlike Rudeus and various other isekai protagonists that were born with being able to develop skills, having powers, high amounts mana and other abilities, Nanahoshi had none of that besides not being able to age, which sucks. Nanahoshi has no mana to be able to use magic on her own (has to rely on magic items that Orsted gave her just for her survival), no family to grow up in this world while not being with her real family and friends that she cares about, meaning there is no incentive to actually care about staying in this world. It's a problem that is only unique to her and no one else can just easily fix what she is going through. So yeah, she is definitely one of the more tragic characters there in this series.

I was quite surprised that Nanahoshi went into a Rudeus-level crisis when Eris abandoned him, which is why he also knows how she feels.
