It's great to see that Warumono has found a good buddy, or should I say, rival.

On the way back from shopping, the ears of Warumono catch snippets of conversation between girls, lamenting their move on Tanabata Day (Star Festival). Curious about the true nature of Orihime and Hikoboshi giving up on their promise just because of bad weather, Warumono heads to the Tanabata festival in the shopping street. What they write on the tanzaku (paper strips) lined up in front of the stores reveals their wish...

Meanwhile, while battling, Trigger, an executive in an organization, and a colleague who sees Warumono as a rival, finish their joint operation ahead of schedule. The two, having wrapped up their cooperative strategy, decide to walk back to headquarters. On the way home, Warumono, who has become completely accustomed to life on Earth, takes Trigger to a certain place.

Warumono has big plans to rule the Earth and make things right again. He's got a soft spot for kids because of their innocence, which is pretty endearing. Surprisingly, thanks to korokke, he's not out to destroy humanity. And then there's Red. Broski just use a GPS lol. Seriously though, why is Warumono wearing long sleeves at the beach? It's pretty clear from his sweat. But hey, watching him build sandcastles with Baby Luffy shows he's all about enjoying the little things in life. Reminds me of how I spend my days off, too. Trigger's getting the hang of "gap moe," which is a pretty human thing to do. And it's nice to see Rooney back.

Counting sheep, I always thought it was because they're cute. Turns out, there's more to it than that.

Btw Tanabata is a Japanese festival originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival (they are even written the same, 七夕 (Evening of the seventh)). Orihime (織姫) and Hikoboshi (彦星) are based on Zhinü (織女) and Niulang (牛郎). Search "The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl" if you want to learn more.
短冊 (tanzaku lit. short book/volume) - long, narrow strip of paper on which Japanese poems are written (vertically).

He wished for them to be able to meet. My heart.
The beach segment made me feel like everything is right in the world
14:16 The way he says it makes me laugh for some reason XD

Okay, I love Trigger already. He's an amazing tsukkomi (straight man) character.
This reminds me of how in Call of the Night it was said that people can sleep well when they are satisfied with their day. So if you're not satisfied with your day, you can't sleep well, and this is what's happening here.
20:34 Oh damn, is this true? Google says that it could also have been originated with sheep herders who couldn't sleep until they had counted all of their sheep to make sure none were missing. Really interesting.

Bro they really should've chosen another ED lmao. This one is way too energetic. NANDOMO NANDOMO SAKENDA
Really good episode.

Oh, the title of the next episode is a pun. パンダフル (panda furu) can mean "panda full", but it also really sounds like "wonderful" pronounced in Jananese, ワンダフル (wandafuru). Edit: Oh, CR translated it as "pandaful", okay.

The dialogue-less part at the beach is an interesting approach. It's just so peaceful that people seem to forget that Earth is currently experiencing space invasion.

The beach scene was my fave part. Only like 1 line the entire scene and just such a peaceful and wholesome moment between the little boy and warumono san. Think this was also the first time he didn’t say something to the effect of “nah even he’ll be destroyed”. Like he actually wants to build a sand castle either way the little boy again. Our big bad is going soft

This show is super low budget and kinda jank. but that beach segment was honestly great. Especially watching this on a Sunday night shortly before bed. They should really do more segments like that. It was super whole and the OST was great.

I'm glad his wish came true. I hope he gets to build another sand castle again, and the dream was really cool too.

A hint of beach episode in this one. The little girl he was competing/playing with looked like child Luffy xD From the idyll of a day off at the beach back to business on the battlefield and to some crepes afterwards. I love the interactions with Trigger and that he gets dragged into Warumono's pace.

Another nice episode. Counting pandas cracked me up fr lmao

"Manga readers are annoying, all they do is complain or spoil the anime we discuss in an anime forum.
They should really do their whining at manga forums.

Laugh out loud throughout each episode of this superb anime. So perfect when it comes to its observations of life on earth, and so sweet when it comes to Warumono and his love of cute things.

My favorite anime of 2024. So damned comfy, and so damned funny.

This anime is very soothing. Loved this.
I need somebody who can love me at my worst
No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can
Let me show you love, oh, I don't pretend, yeah
I'll be right here, baby, you know I'll sink or swim

Warumono has his usual day off, and hearing children speak about supernatural fairy tales...or rather, a boy (Hibiki) moving out and the girl (Aya) being worried about him and wanting to send him off, they're like Orihime and Hikoboshi. They're most likely talking about the night festival, which Warumono writes on a tanzaku, wishing for the kids and their wellbeing to meet, like a couple in the making. In the meanwhile, the Rangers already made their own wishes, and Red has his own list as well.

The day out on a beach, and Warumono notices a kid making a sandcastle, so much so that he wants to try it out himself. No words exchanged, just pure silent bliss of a competition.

Trigger finally makes an appearance as Warumono's coworke though outside of the evil organization, he's nothing like that but someone who's obsessed with pandas. And since there's both panda crepe and a helper, he doesn't want to eat it, which confuses the heck out of Trigger. And back on his job, Warumono wants to get his job done so that he can get his panda special. However, due to work, he has to skip out on it and have a good rest...problem is, he can't sleep at all! And taking into account of counting sheep, Warumono counts pandas to sleep...and he ended up not having a good sleep at all.

Sheep to sleep, not pandas.

Half way through now, this has been such a delightful watch, an incredibly chill show despite the work culture that poor Mr. Villain has to go through. This episode in particular was among the best so far, I especially loved the beach segment with the little girl, it was mostly silent but the actions were louder than any words, such a cute bit, and to top it off there was no talk of destroying humanity, the man just wants to build sand castles again, I’m still holding out hope that the show ends with Mr. Villain ending the evil campaign, not sure if the manga is ongoing or what but it would make a nice anime ending, but I’m also okay with a typical SoL style ending because I know this won’t end badly at least lol.

The bit with Trigger was also hilarious, I’m a bit surprised Mr. Villain was willing to expose his casual self but it made for a great scene where Trigger was just in complete confusion lol. The very first bit of the episode with the wishes was also very sweet, I’m glad those kids managed to meet again, Mr. Villain’s wish being for them was a nice reveal. And lastly the final bit of episode was a bit upsetting because Mr. Villain didn’t get off work on time to see his documentary, but it did at least have the funny visual of all those pandas and he did eventually get to sleep, that coworker of his is a nice lad.

Also, since I didn’t post on the episode she appeared, I wanted to mention I really like the Pink Ranger, she’s really cute and her love for magical girls and wanting to be one made for a cute bit, need more of her!
