| Damn, it seems the Qin army can't advance much forward after the recent developments and having to retreat. Shin had to play some mind games again after realizing his strategy had flaws. I'm also still impressed by Kyoukai's determination in this episode and supporter for Shin. Felt like the episode was much more psychological than the usual battlefield clashes. Not to mention, the episode took place at night. |

| Lei Qiang's attempted stealth mission was a little underwhelming. For what it was building up to, I figured maybe she would be able to take out one important enemy, but apparently not. At the end of the day, she got pretty injured and at best the enemy she fought against is equally injured. That isn't exactly what I would call a resounding victory. Hopefully she will be able to get away and perhaps get another chance later to get a solid victory. Xin understanding his blunders and realizing that the best way to atone is to turn those blunders into victories is a big step for him becoming general material, but now he just needs to back it up with his actions in the battle from the second day onwards. |

| Another great episode once again, this season has been off to a really good start. Kyou Kai couldn't really accomplish what she set out to do with taking out a key commander's head whilst at night, but hopefully she can at least find a way to get to safety back to the Hi Shin Unit base or even more than that, find another opportunity to take Ryuu Tou out again. She took a calculated risk and Ryuu Tou was still prepared enough to lay down a traip at his quarters even when he had full confidence that no one would've been able to break through to his place, let alone that quietly. Also, Kan Ki and the bandit nature present in his group and their methods to fight and more importantly, survive was really interesting and even refreshing to watch for a series like this. They are rough around the edges but still can really pose a threat as a collective and ultimately, Kei Sha's fortifications and preparations were for naught. Finally, good to see Shin have the confidence and belief in himself to proclaim taking Kei Sha's head to atone for the mistakes he made in the first day of the campaign. To become general in the future, he has to learn from blunders and be more adaptable to situations he is not used to besides just having brawn for everything. Hopefully he is able to back up his words and confidence with actions to make up for some mistakes in his decision-making. Ultimately, other people who are generals would need to be able to trust him enough to believe that he is capable so it's all a learning curve for him. |
