I think perhaps the investigation got a bit too deep.

Seeing Reiko's true colors being revealed was a terrifying moment and I kinda feel bad that she is the mother of Eiji. That household really has some bizarre people, even that little girl Karen can be strangely scary.

Eiji managed to survive, and now his mother has completely embraced a psychotic demeanor.

Why did Eiji help himself? In order to understand the reason, this time Migi disguises as Sali's and visits Eiji's house. Eiji guides Sali to the attic and reveals secrets about Reiko, Eiji himself, and the imminent danger to Hitori due to these secrets. However, the conversation between the two is also observed by Reiko. Caught off guard by Reiko's strange aura, Migi instinctively takes a step back. In that moment, Migi comes face to face with Reiko's terrifying true nature.

My speculation is that the family abducted children and subjected them to brainwashing, molding them into their ideal offspring. Metry, the twins' mother, was once part of this operation but chose to escape. Upon returning to rescue Eiiji, she tragically ends up being accidentally killed by him. The narrative shifts from a humorous moment where Micchan reveals her secret "housekeeping crush" artwork to a few scenes later, depicting her throat being slashed.

The series takes on the characteristics of a dark comedy, and I'm all for it for these final episodes.

Migi as Sali going to see Eiji who has just been released from hospital, it's a way to atone for his sins, which is a fake-out of his real intentions by showing him what he already saw of the Origon Village diorama, which confirms his suspicions that Reiko was setting up the scene for the Sonoyamas' demise. Which once she saw him, the worst is only yet to come when Migi hid in Karen's room, which once again, only solidifies that even the make-up siblings are not born by her, and that the killer of Migi and Sali's mother can only be Reiko. Migi realizing that the Sonoyamas' have been drugged and sleep in broad daylight, the expose of the twins only makes Reiko's work easier.

Dali selling out his own brother Migi so that he could live, and his life flashing before his very eyes, Micchan is the unknown factor that changes the game, immensely to help the brothers. But knowing Reiko's reach, the brothers escape far into a small shrine, where they are given offerings to at least stay alive for the time being. The bicycle that was the first gift that Migi got, both the emotional and intelligent brother duked it out in their differences to avenge for the Sonoyamas' sweet cherry pie.

The road back to Origon Village, it's do or die for the Double Hitoris, and the road to the finale is of much anticipation now.

I had a suspicion that Eiji may actually be Migi and Dali's brother. I also thought perhaps Metry was a patient of Eiji's "father" and that maybe she just became obsessed with the family.

I guess it's still possible she was a patient and Eiji's "mother' did something to blackmail her as her husband's patient to take Eiji from her, but she was allowed to live with Migi and Dali in the hidden room, and then something happened to make Metry want to take back Eiji and run away with him, Migi and Dali.

This show has been teetering on that edge of getting darker and darker for the last few episodes, and it fell right off that edge today. I didn't expect and actual murder to happen on screen.

Now the question is how is Eiji's "mother" convincing her husband to go along with her. He seemed to want to protect Metry from her, so you have to wonder if he doesn't know that she blackmailed Karen's family to leave Karen with her, or what she did to get Eiji.

"Kill, kill, kill, kill"

This episode had even more bizarre and funny moments than usual. Both women rolling down the stairs was a highlight.

Way to go housekeeper, that was a badass entrance, lol. RIP for real this time.

That was the craziest episode I’ve seen in a long time holy shit. Legitimately bizarre. We’ve now got a proper story going. Reiko is the main villain, at least for now. How are the kids going to take her down though?

The maid came in so clutch. Using the dust to be able to sense things is such a wild ability lmao. I hate that they blue balled us with who Eiji really is. Is he their brother?? Would be a crazy twist.

I’m thinking that the ichijou’s kidnap kids and brainwash them. The twins mother might have been involved in this at some point and tried to escape, taking Eiji with her but being a scared kid he pushed her and the rest is history. Reiko is very adamant about not letting the truth get out, so it’s definitely something that threatens to tear at the very seam of reality for this town. She has an irrational hatred for the twins.

Speaking of the twins, that fight was very much necessary for their personal development. They’ve had a lot they’ve been holding in, especially Migi. Think this life and death situation made them even closer.

The post credits scene raises the stakes. If the police are suspecting Migi and Dali how are they gonna get out of this?

@HOOfan_1 She got Hitori locked in when he had to "stay over for discipline" so looks like the crazy mom has no issue trapping other people's children in her house :(

I had two shows I really liked drop off quite a bit today. So I'm more than happy Migi to Dali is still the masterpiece it has been the past few episodes!

After seeing Metry's death being an accident, I thought this show might just end up without any further kills. But I was not ready for how insane Ichijou Reiko truly is!

I can't believe Micchan came back just to go out like this! She was just the best housekeeper one could ever wish for! And just when the dog saved her I was sure she'd make it! :(

Now, "Hitori" - time to avenge her, save the village and claim that happy life you deserve!

But I guess there are still a few steps to reach that. First of all, prove that it wasn't you who killed Micchan!

That rock hard baguette, slithering down the stairs by itself, forcing its way inside a little girl's teatime, and finally gets bitten by a boy that wore a wig... this was the thriller story I never knew I needed.

Curious question, why does Migi like to do "that" tongue expression? Is that an involuntary reaction or reflex? Dali seems to refrain from doing it.

Noo Micchan ...RIP :c

Im not the only one who noticed Micchan called Migi and Dali "Hitori-kuns" am I? It's just a funny thing to port the English pluralization into Japanese like that. Japanese normally doesnt distinguish singular and plural explicitly.

This episode was so good! While the other episodes were fluffier and fuller of mystery, this episode was full of action and surprises!

The Ichijo mother was so creepy, I got the shivers while watching it, especially when the mother was running to the Sonoyama house and telling Migi and Dali to pick which one of them should die. I lowkey started crying when Dali chose to have himself killed 😭.

I was so shocked when I saw that the housekeeper was alive! The fight scene between the mother and the housekeeper was epic tho lmao 😆. I was so sad when I saw that she housekeeper died tho 😭😭😭.

I want them to go back to the Sonoyama house but not right away. I would prefer if it was at the ending of the series like Migi wants, I feel like the Ichijo mother would find them if they went back home. I wish Dali let go of his trauma and opened up to the Sonoyama family 😭😭😭.

Overall, I thought this episode was 10/10

Another stunning episode from this anime. The suspense is real. I totally forgot about the maid and the dog. Hooray to them for coming to the rescue. And it looks like Eiji isn't the true villain after all.

That woman is truly messed up. After all, what kind of woman disciplines another family's kid by forcing them to stay at their house?

Man, I had a feeling Micchan wasn’t done, she’s the actual GOAT of this show, I really love how they introduced her as creepy and unsettling but she’s actually one of the best folks around, such a shame it appears she died near the end of this one. Knowing her it’s possible she’s not dead once again but I also think that might’ve been the one this time.

And I really loved the fist fight in the water between Migi and Dali, I think that was something the both of them needed, maybe not the fight but venting out their feelings lol. I’m really excited to see the last few episodes, I really did miss out on one of the best shows of Fall 2023 but I thankfully found this soon after.

This show has a way of creating intriguing set-ups, delivering strange payoffs (mostly); of having intriguing characters, entangling them in weird and unnecessary plot-holes; of having an interesting premise, and treating it without care, throwing away its best moments for absurdity. Nothing but mixed and unsatisfied feelings.
