| Kitasan feeling depressed is a normal reaction tbh. She's a competitor and wanted to win so bad to prove to herself and everyone. She couldn't hold back her tears after all. This episode almost felt like a character study of Kitasan and her behavior. |

The OP seems like a step down from the previous ones but I'm sure it'll grow on me. This season is making me so emotional already. Nice Nature the goat (horse?) Oh wow, we're getting Kikkashou already? I thought it will be a final episode thing. Kitasan won let's gooo! The races always get me cheering on them. Btw Kitasan seems to have this Japanese festival theme, with the costume and the commentary, I wonder what's up with that. But what now? The triple crown races are the most important ones right? But after searching around a bit I found out that there are a lot of other G1 races, so maybe they'll insert them into the story somehow (I'm not gonna look up Kitasan's career to avoid spoilers). Or maybe We'll switch to Dia's story right away? Anyways, I'm excited. Cute ED! Reminds me of the first one. And unrelated to the episode but I recently started playing Uma Musume (my first gacha game) and damn, rerolling is tough. |

| Kitasan being sad and being happy we got all kinds of emotions this episode which was nice. And she won a race but how will she perform next time when Duramente is in the race again it could be interesting. I do think Kitasan still has a lot to learn tho. |

| This episode had a truly heartwarming moment, which isn't often seen in sports and competition shows. The pain of realizing that the person you sought revenge against, the rival you once marked as the one to surpass, has suddenly left the race track, leaving you feeling empty and desperate. It's as if all the hard work you poured in has lost its significance. Perhaps this competitive mindset was a bit naive, but that's perfectly alright! It's more than okay to let those tears flow! While I anticipated good old Tokai Teio to be the one consoling Kita-san, Nice Nature is certainly a fitting figure to step into this role of offering advice. After all, she was in the exact same spot last season, likely shedding tears while Teio was also reeling from her almost-career-ending injuries. |

| @Embient IRL triple crown races are 3 top races for 3 years old horses. Basically they are G1 races to determine the best newcomers from horses generation. Other G1 races are more or less "Other G1 races". They are the same for 4 years horces and until they retire, horses compete till 6 years, so for 3 years. But this doesn't mean that other G1 races are less important. It's just that 3 crowns are specifically made for 3 years olds, so to build up prodigies. This is why they say that "they would have no experience in 3000m races" - because the only G1 race that is 3000+ meters apart from kikkasho is tenno sho spring which is 3200 (mcqueen & rice one from s2), but it's only runnable for 4 years old+ horses so it's impossible for 3 y/o to have any experience at this big distances. Kitasan had a pretty lengthy career and this is why we have kikkasho already at episode 2, because welp, we need to cover A LOT. Tokai Teio, for example, if we exclude 2 years old- races, ran 8 times, while kitasan did so 18 times. And we still need to have some Dia-chan races also since they almost don't overlap. |

| It didn't take long for this series to dive into the drama that it does so well at. Kitasan Black's emotions was tested hard here, shortly after coming to terms with the result of the previous race. Just as she was trying to get herself back on track, she then hears a report on the big screen about Duramente suffering an injury that would eventually rule her out of the upcoming race. With Kitsan Black becoming a teary mess, Nice Nature stepped up and offered up her time to listen to Kitasan's worries and how she felt about learning of Duramente's injury. After listening to Nice Nature's backstory of her drive to win, it helped Kitasan Black to embrace the idea of being true to herself and thus, her motivation had returned. Although it was a very close race, Kitasan Black was able to win, which made me happy for her. =) The OP song has a different tone and vibe to it compared to previous season's OP songs and it does sound good. The ED song itself has a great beat to it, backed by some cute and colourful visuals of the Spica girls in cheerleader outfits and doing amusing things. All in all, this episode does remind me of how well it handles the drama, as it did back in season 2 when it came to dealing with Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen's respective injuries. If we get more moments like this in this season, then I see it being done as well as it was done here. |
| In previous entry we had survivors guilt, now we have inferiority complex and frustration. Damn, they are going hard with those deep themes and it works! Kits not being able to beat Duramente in competition must be very devastating for her. |

| They did not waste time making things depressing lol, then again I think Season 2 did something similar except it was Teio and not a rival horse. Duramente’s injury was definitely upsetting to see after it seemed like we were building up to a rivalry between her and Kitasan Black, and it’s kinda funny because Kitasan was really beating herself up over thinking that she might have a chance now and I was thinking the same exact thing lol. Thankfully one of my favorite horse babes, Nice Nature, was the helping hand that brought Kitasan’s spirits back by sharing her own story when she tried to be like Teio herself. And speaking of Nice Nature, right after the upsetting news about Duramente, I did really appreciate the art of her as a cheerleader there lol. And Nice Nature’s encouragement really ended up paying off when we saw Kitasan win the race at the end of the episode, and it’s nice to see the races are still really intense with some awesome facial expressions and speed. It was also nice to see so many folks happy that Kitasan won, it’s like Nice Nature said, she’s looking very dazzling now lol. And we got the OP and ED this episode, both were awesome in both visuals and music, it’s hard for them to beat Season 2’s OP and ED for me but they definitely come close, I especially loved the ED’s visuals, we got more cheerleader outfits which was pretty sweet, as well as carrot fishing which is just perfect lol. |
| Guys, I don't like to assume things, but I think that Kitasan might be a huge Teio fan 🤔 Team Canopus is still the funiest one, I them so much. I really like how Nice got so much spotlight in this episode, but it was kinda weird how we go from learning the news about Duramente to a transition with a still image of Cheerleader Nice lol I adore the ending, the best one so far! The opening is nice but for me the one in S2 is still one of the best openings ever, the song in it is in another level. And about the opening, I don't know how to feel, are they trolling me? IS MY GIRL MACHAN IN SPICA OR NOT?????????????????????? I DEMAND ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!  (her face looks kinda goofy in that pic lol) |

| Out of all the OP & EDs, Season 3 seems to be the weakest of all seasons, though they're all decent either way. Kitasan's rivalry against Duramente, only seems to pull her farther back, even as she chases dreams like her father's performances and especially Tokai Teio, being a fan of hers and literally idolizing her, even after enrolling in Tracen Academy. But the big news that Duramente was gravely injured, she was gunning for the classic Triple Crown, but she literally suffered the same way as Tokai Teio and Mejiro McQueen did at their final spurts back in Season 2, the depression hits once again, earlier this time. Literally like Tokai, Kitasan feels bad that she partly contributed to Duramente's downfall, and even more that she could not reach the heights of what Teio achieved back in Season 2. Even Nice Nature also looked to her for inspiration the exact same way and managed to console Kitasan down. Kitasan was putting pressure on herself too much that she did not need to be like Teio, and run her own individual race, as she prepares the last Fall G1 Cup of the Triple Crown: Kikkashou, where this 3000-meter-long course provides equal opportunities for all, and she won by the skin of her hoof. Will this be The Start Line to Kitasan Black's rise to fame? Time will tell if she will be Teio's successor. |

| God, Uma Musume never fails to be exciting. Also the ending was just adorable. I'm waiting for more Duramente! She's really beautifull but I wanna know more about her since we only caught a glimpse. Anyways, great ep. Wish the drama part could be extended a bit since it would make Kitasan's victory feel more important. But since she didn't really compete with Duramente yet I guess it solidifies her position as a strong competitor so it's not bad building as well. |

| Holy shit, we get it already! Kitasan looks up to Tokai Teio and wants to mimic her, so much so that that's basically her entire personality so far. It's so far as obnoxious as Love Live Sunshine being all like "Muse, Muse, we love Muse" for ages and subsequently taking way too long to establish their own identities. That aside, I know this is kinda UmaMusu's MO at this point, but episode 2 feels way too soon for all this drama. It does not feel earned in any way, shape or form yet given that Kitasan is currently little more than a Teio simp. And of course we couldn't go more than a couple episodes without a horse girl being injured, though of course there's no avoiding that given that's just what happened with the horses in real life as well. This is the worst start to a season of Uma Musume so far, but there's plenty of time to salvage things still. Like making Kitasan stop talking about Teio for five minutes, for example. |

| Teio was a contender throughout her season, so I thought they were going to contrast that and give Kitasan an underdog story where she doesn't even win towards the end. But no, she's won a big race, partially due to Duramente being out of commission for this one. Idk the story behind these horsegirls, but Teio states that Kitasan might just be even better than her. |

| It's the usual stuff. Not any better than the previous seasons. Not really worse either. As long as Gold Ship is there ... it will be fun every now and then. :D Reminds me a bit of the Milky Holmes anime though. That one later introduced also pretty young girls ... and then it seemed to have ended. (Gotten less good at that point.) |

| Interesting little twist. Last season it was the main character that suffered an injury, now it's reverse and the rival/antagonist is the one who gets injured instead. As much as I enjoy this show, it goes wild with the time skips. I'll never really understand the timeline in this series, as it feels like years go by in each season, yet everyone looks the same and is still in school. Eh, I'll just continue to ignore it and enjoy the show. |
