That's one self sufficient and mature 4 year old xD

Enjoyable first episode. It's kinda like Usagi Drop on steroids. How it blends cute and melancholic reminds me indeed a lot of it. It's one of my all time favorites and everything that's even remotely close to it is already a W in my book.

It is good.
I was curious about this anime when Netflix announced it, and I liked the first episode.
Kotaro is adorable.

Pretty mid, tha animation isn't that great. Some moments were wholesome but I don't have the time to finish the whole series.

I just finished kotaro lives alone anime and Oh boy ! now I'm an emotional mess but happy at the same time. I legit cried at the end. The back story of kotaro along with story and past of side characters legit will immerse you into this , I could feel their struggle and pain of their past. Although , I would stress on that the story is rather simple but interesting at the same time.
The story was executed very well.

One of the strong point of this shows were good character development with consistent pacing which provides very enjoyable experience.

Animation was very consistent. The show went very smooth.

I wouldn't talk much about the show which may work as a spoiler but the show perfectly captures the characters will make you fall in love with them. It was a happy and emotional ride at the same time.

I will highly recommend to give this show a go, please don't start with very high expectations or unrealistic expectations, just watch without any pre thoughts, I'm sure you will enjoy.

What a great start, this is gonna be a good show.
Kotaro is a quirky little fella and so far all three neighbours are interesting.
I like how the show has a cuteness, but clearly a darker side.
We have a child whose seems to have lost his parents, a struggling manga-ka who is becoming a shut-in, what looks to be a hostess with a deadbeat boyfriend always borrowing money and a yakuza looking guy who can't see his own son.
“I just spent the last two years thinking that you guys knew more than me about life and I just found out that you guys are just as dumb as me.” “Duh-doy.” “Yeah, duh-doy.”

Netflix have scored with this one, it's hard to find any faults.
A 4 Year old acting like an old man moving into a flat on his own.
The interactions make this so good, even though no one is really questioning why?
I found this by accident and have no complaints.

I was just browsing Netflix not really looking for anything to take seriously just something to watch while having lunch. And man what a heartwarming lunch that was.

Despite the not so fluid animation, what matters more to me is that Kotaro has the requirement of becoming an independent kid till the future and I find it funny that it is the same VA as Kagura from Gintama lolol.

My little sister told me about this Anime and told me it was boring. But she is probably too innocent and young to understand what's going on in this Anime.

I got hooked on this Anime the moment I finished the first 5 minutes and I didn't regret a single second of it. I can't wait for the next episodes.

It has so many happy moments, but there is a sad truth behind Kotaro. It has such a fine and beautiful mix between happy and melancholic, it's surreal!

10/10, I would recommend this to my friends.

I wasn't really interested in this anime at first, but I saw from some commentaries and forums saying that it's really touching and heartwarming, so I want to see why they said so.

The most unexpected thing from this episode is that Kotaro knows how to relieve the eye sore of Mitsuki because he knows she has been crying. It's really unexpected and a bit sad that a four year old child knows this kind of thing... And I like that Kotaro smiles when Karino draws him his favorite character on his bandage. Hope to see more heartwarming interactions between Kotaro, Karino and other residents.

i thought this was cute, clever, funny. but it has these dark vibes, where things aren't as innocent as you would expect from a show about a 4 year old

i enjoyed this quite a bit. 8/10 first episode

no just in general, if an anime doesnt have an art/animation style i like (im picky), then i cant finish it. something about it felt really off and it was a little uncomfortable for me to watch most of the first ep 😭

i tend to rate most anime low. maybe it’s because im in the older crowd. maybe it’s because im just watching anime to learn japanese.

speaking of which, this one turned out to be great for that at my level, because the language usage in the show is so simple. i understand the majority of everything that is said (a slim majority)

i was blindly finding something new to watch tonight and ended up on this show somehow. i really was thinking i wasnt going to enjoy it, but i did.

i think ill keep going with it, but the reptile eyes are really creeping me out

Okay, Usagi Drop & Amaama to Inazuma immediately pops up to mind and they're some of my favourite SOL shows so I'm getting good vibes from this.

Kotaro noticing Akitomo-san's sore eyes is sad considering he must've seen a lot of this despite being so young. No wonder why he seems to put up a guard but it's pleasing to see that Karino-sensei is a genuinely nice person.

Definitely looking forward to more!

Bless this kid uhm I mean feudal lord. Quite the unique art style and also quite the entertaining plot so far of Kotarou influencing the lives of his fellow neighbours who clearly have some problems.

Randomly started watching the English dub of this on Netflix, seems super cute after the first ep, don't often watch dubs but the English voices sound good in this so far!

Seen it on Netflix and eventually got to it now after seeing it pop up so much and I gotta say, I think I like it.

It's quite cute and wholesome and seems to have quite a deep plot hidden almost. I'll probably watch some more over time

Oooof…did NOT expect what I just watched. I thought this was going to be a sort of light hearted comedy about the older guy living alone next door, with the kid coming over to bother him.

That being said, this is probably going to be SO much better than I originally thought.

Interesting concept, excited to see more.

When I saw the "childcare" tag, I wasn't expecting to actually mean "child caring for adults." For every gut busting gag, there was a sucker punch to the feels. Given the ridiculous premise, I was ready for the hilarity. I wasn't expecting it to be as thought provoking. Some of it is getting on Isekai Ojisan levels of depressing, like the guy who can't see his son getting burned by Kotarou.

Never heard of apartments that refuse to rent to families with children before. But I also haven't heard of children being permitted to rent out an apartment room on their own through their nebulously source of cash, so suppose you can't question it too much.

It certainly isn't the prettiest show ever though; those beady eyes and matte colours will take some getting used to.
