Kind of an anticlimactic finale this but I suppose it was intentionally left to the viewers to interpret and make out their own side of the story.

I, for one, would like to think this is a bittersweet conclusion with the two tragic lovebirds meeting once a year or so and deciding to try and move on from each other. But, then again, it's difficult to imagine that two will be able to fend off their feelings considering how things transpired over the last 2-3 episodes. Welp, I'd much prefer sticking with the former for scientific and moral reasons.

Last episode's cliffhanger where it was implied the two had done the deed was honestly a little hard to take in. I didn't expect the series to take it that far but you could tell it was building up to it.

Psychology of the series was the MVP for me, personally. Saeki-san, for the most bit, was immature in many ways but I could see some light on his mental anguish over this. Chidori-san's attempt at keeping a leash to this buildup was really sweet too but a little too late apparently. Whatever the case, I'm glad the two didn't decide to go for the easier suicide route but instead try and come to terms with it.

All in all, it was a touching and bittersweet tale of a forbidden romance. Definitely was slightly awkward at times but sweet and thought-provoking at other times too.

Soundtrack Department was the pick of the lot for me. Certainly did a wonderful job to enhance several moments throughout the show. Op is a peach to tune in to, as well.

Animation Quality was undoubtedly lacking and the white mouths a little irksome initially but this is an old show so that's to be expected to a certain extent, I suppose. At least, the Cherry Blossoms scene delivered.

As such, I'm going to stick with a solid 7/10 for this.

I just loved this series, and it turned out all right for them in the end. It doesn't matter that it's incest, they love each other so that's that. That translator's note at the end really pissed me off though, they could really keep their personal opinion to themselves.

I gave it an 8. The last episode was kinda silly. Yes, I understood the symbolism of it all, but it’s like they just needed to “scratch” that itch and after that they were cool going their separate ways... all that pent up need and stress and thinking about death and running away etc, quitting his job, becoming a social leper and losing out on some Chidori (shakes head) he still ends up alone and single... playboy, your ex girlfriend was smokin and she still wanted you. All she wanted was attention and you could have easily slid back in there because once she figured out he was actually listening and not being a stupid cave man mongo smash with his grunts and growls she was perked up and wanting... she even tried the jealousy act again with the my boyfriend is coming over and I’m moving to spur him into action. But he wanted the forbidden 🍑. My bro, you chose wrong. She was at the age of consent for japan being 16 so whatever’s there and I won’t comment on the incest. I don’t let that bother me in anime, RL that’s another Story. This is entertainment and shock value. I laughed way too hard and cringed way too much at this series. It was definitely an 8 for me. But what a dipshit. Chidori still gets my win. That woman loved that guy. He just had to reach out and she was there for the taking. So I guess his sister either moved back with the mom? Since he went 12 years without seeing her he has no issues doing that again but not seeing the dad or going to that house is harsh because she will be there 🤷🏽‍♂️. I dunno. Bleh. I just have to say, her as a stocky dwarf baby was hilarious. I was in tears 🤣

Not expecting anything close tho. Last couple of episodes were so intense. Every rooftop, ocean, carnaval shot made me think "yup they (or one of them) are about to die" butt cheeks were clenched.

I appreciate the how mature the story telling was regarding the general themes of this anime and was quite entranced by the whole ordeal, but there are few things that were grating.

The animation is definitely not good, even by 2004 standards. The seiyuu for the sister was terrible, no emotion whatsoever. Flat and monotonous throughout the whole thing. The Brother was just a shitty character in general and very unlikeable, regardless of how well a hopeless person with poor morals is portrayed.

7/10 overall I think.

It's probably a minor miracle that it got greenlit for an adaptation into a television series in the first place.

I don't know how Nanoka fell in love with her brother. It is wierd that she did after his behavior toward her. I liked pacing and music (good OP and ED) and overall serious tone in this show but show didn't convince me how she fell with him. Maybe I need to rewatch some scenes idk. First half of the show seemed better. I support interpretation which is telling that their relationship won't last (or maybe it will be not good for them) as trees they wrote their names will be cut down.

When the mother said "both of you must have left home very early to arrive here at this time." I feel like it's a mother's feeling or instinct. I know that their mother doesn't know about what happened between them but it's like if we're hiding something, it feels like a mother's simple words or actions can lead to what we are hiding. Not to mention the small talk about Nanoka's album of memories from junior high and elementary school, that last sentence really...

When they laugh and are happy together those are the moments where I wish they weren't siblings so they could show off their happiness and love openly to the public and most importantly to their parents.

Since I'm a sucker for happy endings so I assumed that they would still meet and go about their days as usual but decided to go on a date there every spring. Maybe I'm thinking like they decided to "show" their relationship only every spring, in the first season they met and in the first place they "dated".

I wanted to support them but half of me knew it was wrong. However I really enjoyed and liked this anime (which I didn't expect) so I just wish the best for both of them even though I know it's almost impossible for their relationship to have a happy ending.. especially the scene where Nanoka and Koushirou pray for the Ferris wheel to move but in fact it doesn't move (because it's impossible, the engine doesn't start and neither of them can start the engine) as a signal that no matter how hard they try in this relationship, it will never move anywhere.. because it is impossible for society to accept due to the fact they are siblings and neither one of them can change that fact.

Well that was such a ride really having mixed feeling about this(not about incest/pp), was hoping it would not be a bittersweet ending with a no concrete conclusion but they did it anyway kinda sad they practically doin what they could enjoying themselves but it gonna get hard from now on , since they're together hope they go through it somehow together with koshiro practically inheriting his fathers characteristics he barely knows what to do they feel like lost case right now kinda feeling sad not crying one but feeling empty inside it feels like their future is doomed and only thing they can do is elope oof, well of to the manga to find out rest of the story (~‾▿‾)~

Koi Kaze was one of bold and beautiful anime which can highly recommended to people seeking phychological and emotional anime with a blast of triggers sprinkled all over to take you on a surprising roller coaster ride.

The anime had the best emotional sequences and interesting charcters, the anime made use of silence to soothe us and sometimes even trigeer us as well, those silent sequences reminded me of Mushishi's quiet moments as well, and that was the beauty of this anime. And the essential part of this anime was it's OST, Oh! it was so beautiful throughout the series it made sure to evoke the right kind of mood during the moments and the ED made sure would to calm me down after the gush of wind it would shove as part of the triggers.

This anime is not only about taboo, it much more than that, and if you are open minded to feel the flow of the wind that this anime offers, then the wind is for you to get blown away!

This would have been better rif they were both adults. Not only would we not have predatory vibes but we could have had a real romantic relationship that doesn't rely on the ml being a loser and the fl being inexperienced. Rn I feel like nanoka will eventually grow up and leave him when the rose tinted glasses wear of and she figures out she can find someone better.

Koi Kaze is what you call an anime with a very interesting premise, but a very bad presentation of its story, that it fails to make itself a masterpiece when it comes to anime romance, and I even consider it a meh anime.

I found myself mostly bored with Koi Kaze due to the pacing.  Each episode starting from episode 2 was just a drag due to its slow pace and non-progressing romance.

Also, did we have to make the sister into this angelic person, who has no evil or malice in her heart? Did we really have to make her this way?

AND WHY IN THE WORLD is there such a big-age-gap between the male MC and the female MC??!!!    This aspect shaded the fact that this is an anime about wincest, but it now started to be more about an anime romance of two characters with a big-age-gap, and this is not what we signed up for.

Like the person above my comment said = This anime would have been better if both the male MC and the female MC were adults, since then we wouldnt have the "predatory" vibes, and the anime would have focused solely on the wincest.

And why did you make the male MC look like he can play football/rubgy, while in turn making the female MC look like she is just 10 years old, when she was 16??

Also, why did we have to wait for the final episodes for them to get together as a couple and then end the anime there?  It would have been much more interesting and entertaining if they got together real early in the anime, and then go from there, with them being judged by their parents, and friends, and society.

overall, Koi Kaze was an anime that had masterpiece potential, but due to its presentation, it ended being just a bland anime. Koi Kaze should have been 10-episodes and not 13 episodes, to speed up the pacing.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Some heavy topic is explored here. I assume the foreshadowing of the amusement park being shut down and the trees cut down means their romance will come to an end. Somehow but for sure. Suicide? Separating? And these 13 episodes ended where the show started.

The female side characters either know or have somewhat a strong intuition on what's happening. The mother surely sensed something. And Nanoka's friend was also wise enough not to pry into who the boyfriend is.

They might feel happy now. But I have the feels that everything leads to a tragedy.

Extremely weak anime, with a very basic romance plot that is hardly different from the basic romance show of the season, if you take off the incest factor, there is barely nothing in this anime and I'm the kind of person who doesnt care incest, so this show does nothing for me. I was even going harder on trashing this show but apparently the age of consent in Japan is 16 years old so I cant judge it as pedophilia, I must respect the rules of every country and this relationship in Japan is totally legal in the sense of age, so the MC isnt doing anything bad or illegal, still that doesnt mean the age gap is a bit disturbing specially considering the MC looks like an Alpha Male(even for the Western standard) and the girl looks like a 10 years old, also the underwear smelling he did earlier in the show is totally disgusting, usually people only do that stuff in porns or when a bunch of highschoolers go to a friend house and use the panties as a hat for the trolling sake of it, doing that after you are 16+ makes you a creep or a pervert. The cast is very mediocre, the music is less than average and the animation is just bad. Nothing more to say, this will be a 1/10 if age of consent in Japan were 18+.

How did people watch this show if they keep saying that Nanoka is 15? She was 15 at the start of the show and shortly after had her 16th birthday. It is spring during episodes 12 and 13 (like it was in episode 1), so she's almost 17. You can disapprove of the age gap without throwing words like "pedophilia" and "statutory rape" where they do not apply.

I'm conflicted, and it's expected with this kind of series. I honestly don't like Koushirou here, he himself is not stable in many ways but he still proceeds on doing it with her sister who is obviously doesn't know a lot of things yet, so yeah I don't like it. The age gap, man I can't with that kind of far age gap, just doesn't feels right. Those are the things that me feel bad, it's just I hope they did it when both of them are already stable in life, can't accept when one of them is still in school.

I also feel happy for some part, like them having fun and showing love to each other even though they know the society won't accept it, just kind of nice to look at. Also surprised about the committing suicide, didn't expect that she would do that kind of extreme thing as long she is with her brother.

For the show itself, I like it. This is one of those series that made me think a lot of things, especially this is an age gap and incest series, can't help but pause many times to think what's right and what's wrong. It's bad, it's fun, and it's sad. Just hope the characters didn't regret their choices, because that's what matters a lot.

And for another time, I don't side with what the characters did here, because I hate it.

I absolutely loved this anime. Koshiro is our depressed and jaded counterpart falling in love with the innocence of youth. He's destroyed his life, his family, and his little sister's life. And yet I'm not mad at all. It's like the "manic pixie dream girl" (or 90% of the men in chick flicks) distilled into its purest form.

Koshiro was detached from everything because he never felt love growing up, and became unable to love himself or others. Coming into contact with even just sibling love absolutely overpowered and destroyed him. I think his character becomes much more bearable when you realize that the mother who loved him left to live with a sibling that hated him, and his father was admittedly never there for him when it mattered.

I think anyone who's experienced a similar level of neglect and emotional abuse can relate to Koshiro, even if we can't condone his actions. And yet we understand them. In his own way, he tried to crush his desires and bury them deep down. There were many off ramps, but at the same time we know he would have never been happy with any of them. Nanako too searching for her lost father figure. If it weren't him, it would have been some other douchebag.

What makes this series beautiful is that it is so open and honest with the pain of the main characters, and how destructive Koshiro's actions are. Chidori even draws the distinction that he's not a terrible person, but is doing unforgivable things. And yet we understand. We don't condone, but we understand.

With such a realistic anime, there is virtually no possibility of a happy ending. No way everyone's lives aren't irreparably damaged. No way Koshiro isn't going to prison, or Nanako isn't spending the rest of her life in therapy. And yet some small part of us wishes for a happy ending. Love and forgiveness for the broken children deep inside our souls, and an awakening to the beauty of life so many others at least get brief glimpses into.

P.S. I see a lot of people claiming Chidori liked Koshiro. Certainly the possibility was there, but I personally didn't see it that way. After all, she never expresses any desire to be with him. The only time she comments on his character is to say that he's ugly and weird. You could chalk that up to being a tsundere, I suppose, but she was consistently able to praise his work ethic. I don't think either of them were into each other, after all they had so many opportunities to experiment. Plus, you would think she'd confess to Koshiro as a last ditch effort to get him away from Nanako if that were truly the case. They just seemed like work friends to me (even though she was his boss.)

I think we all caught that. In my opinion it was him giving up and accepting whatever ramifications were to follow from his actions. A kind of, "Well I might as well enjoy the moment on this slow descent into hell." But yes, I can't imagine how he didn't even whince drinking muddy sand either. The grit alone makes you gag.

Oh my god what happen aaaaaaaaa. A lot of people commented that the ending is open for interpretation and I think that their secret will be found out someday. I actually thought that they're gonna commit suicide together or Koshiro will leave Nanoka for good. Nanoka is still young. She will meet a lot of people and will have more fun with friends.

An ostensibly high quality anime. Characters were all okay and served their purpose, it's competently written to a degree where no scene feels wasted or purposeless, and it doesn't betray its central theme or pull a bullshit reveal that the siblings aren't related (something many authors fail to do with this particular subject).

The visuals are very dated, even for it's time. If it wasn't for the fact that it uses digital animation, you'd almost think it was five or six years older than it actually is. I also believe that the mournful atmosphere sometimes felt heavy-handed, primarily due to Koushiro being the main catalyst for its dreary presentation. Because of this, it makes it difficult to believe he could develop his romance with Nanoka as quickly as he did. In short, I felt he was too pessimistic, to the point where dramatic scenes weren't as impactful as they could've been because Souchirou's usual state is that of woe even before any drama occurs. If he was nominally happier inbetween these scenes, they'd likely hit harder.

Soundtrack was serviceable and fits most scenes adequately, while blending into the background at the perfect volume. Koi Kaze does most things well, and with better visuals and a minor adjustment to the main character, would be fantastic. Maybe it already is.
