| Rei seems to have a rather complex relationship with his father given their backgrounds. Plus, this episode was also very intense compared to the others. Rather than the usual playful atmosphere, we got a serious episode with Rei taking an important role within his family. The theme of betrayal is also evident in this anime. |

| Rei the NEET heading back home in his elegant dressing, and both Kazuki and Miri are on their own, preparing Rei's portion. Back to the home that he hasn't gone back to with his diabolical boss-cum-dad for 3 years, and the assassin job is seen as subpar for his rich, family-taught ingrained skills so much so that it became his point of rebellion against all that his father has prepared for him to take over the family business of obscene expectations. A test of the assassination job that his father has given him, and it's someone whom he knows well, but has betrayed their organization. It looks like a student-teacher relationship of Rei going against his former mentor who has removed himself from the life of darkness to one of light with a loved one, only for Rei to be skillful enough to kill him, but with regret washed on his heart and face as a murdering puppet. Kazuki managing to track Rei with his phone to fetch from the quay side and talk about their past that's worth changing for the incoming future, and I hope so. For now, celebrate Papa Rei's birthday in tiredness and the place they call home. And it turns out that Kyutaro is also involved with Rei's father's business, targeting Kazuki and Miri next. The fun parts are fun, but it's serious episodes like these which really showcase the show's strengths in characterization. Really enjoyed this episode in full immersion. |

| NOOOOOOOO. They really didn’t give my boy a happy ending? I thought after Rei told him he had found something to protect too that he’d let him go and that would be the beginning of the end of his relationship with his father and the organisation. P.A works been BRUTAL with some of these storylines. First Kazuki and his baby mama and now this. If there’s any consolation it’s Rei is clearly on the path to breaking the hold his dad has on his life. I really like the comparison of he and his father and Miri’s mom and her parents. Both were awful but one made the most of Miri being in their life, the other just sunk further and further into depression. I swear they better not lay a hand on her next week. |

| Another episode that amps up the darker side of the show. The action scenes were great and Rei acknowledging that he too has something to protect is also great. Kazuki and Rei’s conversation is also beautiful as we were shown how Rei became a barely functioning adult through Kazuki’s influence in his life, and now Miri. Miri making Rei smile after the horrible stuff he’s been through makes me smile as well. And now, it looks like Kazuki and Miri are going to get targeted as well. Looking forward to the next episode. |

| We got to see the cruel nature of Rei's line of work, and how his complex relationship with his father worked. To test him, Rei had to finish an assassination job, and it was a tough one, against a former comrade. It's great that Rei acknowledged he has something to protect, in Miri, which is a sign that he has something to live for now besides just following orders. The show has been getting better overall, as we see the characterization of the main characters. Wonder how Kyutaro will handle the situation at the end, as the boss seems to know about the existence of Miri now. |
| i swear to god if anyone from that awful organization lays a finger on miri i will jump through the screen and end them all myself. i trust kyu to side with rei and kazuki though and to help protect miri. scared and looking forward to next episode |

| Rei's links to his father is pretty complex and depressing at the same time. He was called up to the family home in the countryside telling Rei that his time to move onto the next step is here and to test him, he gave Rei a job to kill off a former comrade who Rei has spared against in the past. The fight itself was tough, as Rei's never won against this guy before. The production values for their battle looked amazing and helped to improve how tense this one-on-one was before Rei pulled off a clutch victory. He did hear the final words from his former comrade, but chose not to say it to the creepy assassin who drove him there. Kazuki picked him up shortly afterwards and the two had a nice conversation about how much effort Kazuki had to do him helping Rei when the pair first met. It was also Rei's birthday and being greeted by a sleepy Miri singing happy birthday to him was really sweet. Rei finally pulls off a genuine smile, which was a nice sight to behold. =) The last scene of the episode was tense and worrying, though. The creepy guy from earlier paid a visit to Kyutaro, giving him a envelope containing a picture of Kazuki and Miri. I think it's clear that Rei's father wants Kazuki killed off so that his plan for Rei to take over the business comes true. It'll be interesting to see what Kyutaro will do next. I can only hope that he doesn't betray Kazuki and Rei, even if it puts his life in danger. |

| We're approaching the end of the season so it was bound to get serious. Bad mistake from dad to order a hit on Kazuki/Miri - or so it seems. This is Lycoris vibes again; I mean Chisato was in the same situation. Treated like a murder-machine that shouldn't and must not "play family". Rei's ultimate test to kill Kazuki, huh? We all know how that will end. |
| Too much wholesomeness and then dark stuff. Rei has to do what needs to be done but at the same time, he wants to change. I hope Miri succeeds in changing them for good. Rei's birthday made him smile. Proud of Papa Kazuki and Miri. I don't like the ending. Now I'm even more scared about where this show's gonna go. Kazuki and Miri are on the bounty. |

| Seeing Rei get so visibly upset over the course of the episode was heart-wrenching. That scene on the rooftop was crazy good. Kazuki's character development episode at least had a hopeful ending, but wtf was up with this one... I'm not strong enough for whatever's next, too many death flags all over the place :/ |

| Yeah, I can't see kyu-chan against them. Now I wonder what they will do?, it seems that the "boss" isn't someone you can talk it out and I doubt miri and kazuki will let rei abandon them just because is the only way for the organization to not hunt them down. |

| Rei heading back home to see his father after a couple years. Just like when he was younger he calls his dad, boss. He is given a job by him. To kill a man who betrayed the organisation. Its someone Rei knows. A man who helped trained him and someone Rei hasn't beaten in combat previously. The betrayed part was because the mentor tried to leave the organisation as he had someone to care about. The fight was pretty intense but at the closing stages Rei prevails but it doesn't seem like he won at the end. With his last words being "I'm on my way", in reference to his lover who got killed by the organisation previously. One of Rei's mentors dies. During that whole ordeal Kazuki and Miri were preparing for Rei's birthday party at home and when Rei was late, Kazuki tracks his phone and finds him. Talking about their first impressions of one another on the way home, when they finally do get home Rei is shocked at the surprise and even smiles when Miri tries to sing happy birthday before she falling asleep again. At the end tho. We find out Kyuu is working under Rei's dad as well and his dad has taken an interest in Kazuki and Miri. That is not good news at all. A nice mix of fun and dark moments. This anime is great at mixing the two. Next week onwards! |

| After the previous episode (that was pretty weak) they showed that the more serious stuff (no real comedy here) works after all. Thing is though: Rei is the more important char than Kazuki. That is why that stuff got better development and more screentime. I do not think they'll mention Kazuki's wife or her sister again. With Reis father actually not only being the boss of "some mafia organization" but owning the whole killer business ... makes sense that the older evil-looking guy also gets to stay on screen through this. (And not because he formerly worked together with Kazuki.) |
| It reminds me that Kyu-chan said about 'not betraying the organization' to Kazuki in the early episodes... I know that Kyu-chan won't let Kazuki and Miri in danger but on the other hand I'm also a bit wary... This episode was supposed to be very sweet, but instead I felt very sad. But anyway, I'm sure this birthday is the best birthday Rei ever had! |

| I like Rei, Kazuki is ok but I hate Miri. Although it's not going to happen I wish that the series would take a dark turn and the assassin manages to somehow kill Miri. |

| The further this anime runs, the more I feel like Kazuki is not going to live until the end and after seeing that ending, my suspicions skyrocketed... I sure hope I'm wrong. The last few episodes have been taking some good tugs at my heartstrings. |

| Rei needed to go back to his dad for visit while Kazuki and Miri are preparing his birthday party! Rei got an new case to solve because someone betrayed the organization, so she went and did his job, but at the last moment he wanted to save the guy but it was too late. Kazuki & Miri still waiting for Rei to return home, Miri already fell asleep. Kazuki went and picked up Rei himself. Miri even said Happy Birthday before falling asleep and Rei smiled for the first time. The organization wants more info on Kazuki & Miri, hopefully nothing bad will happen. |

| Ya so we learn about Rei's fucked up assassin family and how he's pretty much gonna be forced into making a choice. Of course they've now seen Kazuki with a small child and surely these are the kinda ppl that would kill the child to force Rei to return. |
