Well, there's a time when defeat comes and we know Yoichi can't win them all. Having being knocked down, this was also a chance for Koichi to show his talent again.

This was more of his character episode and a 2-on-2 match is a great chance for Koichi.

Okay that was a new OP but still doesn’t change the fact that the first one was better, except probably in the visual aspect. Though as far as the match-ups go, guess Isagi finally realized just how much of an impact Bachira had on him till now, so yes the depression ain’t going anywhere for the time being. Moreover to make things worse guess who the Isagi-Nagi duo is going up against next? The sharpest edge in the series, Barou.

Isagi may well have avoided the match-up though, but guess facing the facts straight on from Naruhaya ended up too much for an already down self-esteem. So… the consequences, Barou scored within a minute after the whistle. Though Nagi’s on Isagi team, heck it’ll be that easy to overwhelm the duo, thus scored back-to-back with his “god” play, like he himself termed.

Barou did score again, but that wasn’t the main thing here as Naruhaya’s ultimate disrespect to Isagi had him in shatters. Dude's living a damn tough time of his life right now lol.

Barou always turn me on so I hope he can join Yoichi's team or Yoichi get invited to join Barou's team, depending on the result. But at the same time I also don't want anyone to leave Blue Lock, I want all of them to lock up in there forever. Too bad our world is too small for 300 Japanese highschool players to keep playing soccer as their profession, only a few of them can make a living purely from kicking a ball.

Additional time always provide the best fanservice, there'll never be enough characters that appreciate nakedness like Bachira.

The new opening is fire.

Naruhaya is disrespecting Isagi for real xD But cool that he gets to play the antagonist here after not getting much spotlight before. I'm also hyped to see Barou again.

Quite the matchup we got here. A battle of geniuses and the average. Naruhaya didn't stand out much in Team Z. On the other hand, Barou has such a huge presence. Then, there's Nagi who just casually evolves during the match. Nagi and Barou's interactions so far are hilarious though. It's fun seeing their personalities clash.

Looks like Naruhaya has it out for Isagi. Although he isn't wrong, Isagi really does struggle on his own.

Nagi is so cool. I love him.

in the best way possible that i can explain:
it starts of with a 3v3, the winning team picks a member to make their team four and the other team 2, the team with 4 move to the 4v4 area and the einning team of a 4v4 takes one player from the losing team making it 5 and 3, once a team has 5 players they complete the second selection, the losing team so the 3 or the 2 go to the 3v3 and 2v2 respectively the process repeats for the 3v3 as i said at the start, but for the 2v2 the winning team picks one player to make 3 and move back to the 3v3 area, whilst the one who didn't get picked is eliminated

The 2nd Cour's OP is visually better, but the song is meh, Unison Square Garden's 1st Cour OP is better as a song.

Isagi losing Bachira to Rin's team, it's the worst loss he's ever encountered, and he has to pick it up from here on out. That leaves Isagi and Nagi stressed while waiting for their next losing opponents, and Isagi blew his own fuse within Nagi's sight of his negativity, showing his incapability to work individually, which is the crux of how to survive the 2nd Selection. The only way is to win, take it or leave it. Facing Barou and Naruhaya, Isagi wished they won't be able to face-off against them both, but it's clear that they need to identify their strengths and weaknesses quick to compliment each other, otherwise they're toast on 1-for-1. Everyone is thinking the same thing on this Rivalry Battle, but if there's a point being chosen, both Isagi and Naruhaya will not make the cut when compared to their partners, and for the latter, his dream of wanting Nagi from Isagi, it's dreams at stake for a match confirmed.

Isagi and Nagi vs. Barou and Naruhaya, the 2-vs-2 match that starts between Nagi and the King, his almost-30m long-range accurate shot is signature for first blood. And for Nagi, he's found his secret weapon in his own unpredictable one play. Now is Isagi's turn, and Nagi provides the framework, just as Naruhaya provides for Barou: the Average Joes in the play of geniuses.

Isagi, try harder.

I know, right? It seems like every episode his character development goes to the beginning again, It feels weird because we know how much potential he has. I’d like to see more bravery and less of that hateful speech for himself.

Don't worry, the author is doing it on purpose. You're supposed to be frustrated with Isagi here. It's like the rock-bottom for him right now. I'm glad that the author didn't shy away from truly deconstructing Isagi and showing just how weak he was at this point in the series. It's really what he needs.

That aside, having Nagi be the new kind of deurotagonist is a nice change of pace. He doesn't coddle Isagi and is super blunt with him. Despite that, he's a great teammate. I remember being happy to see the manga change it up like that for the sake of Isagi and the rest of the cast's growth. Bachira is Isagi's best partner but they just aren't ready for each other yet.

Oh sad no new ED yet, but ngl the new OP is actually really growing on me.

Hopefully they're saving up the budget for the next episode or at the very least the next match after this. I actually enjoyed this episode more than the previous one, probably cause Rin with all his edginess wasn't here. And watching Nagi and Barou talking shit to one another is hilarious. Glad to see Isagi and Nagi acknowledging their weaknesses without having their passing partners, but also cool to see Nagi finding his own 1-1 play. Now it's Isagi's turn!

Well damn, even Isagi himself was saying it in this episode, how sad does your skill have to be that even Naru-fucking-haya is giving you the works 💀 dude was irrelevant as fuck on Team Z, I could barely remember his name. It's cool to see him getting a bit more screentime for now though I guess. Isagi has so much potential but man he needs to quickly develop a skillset that gives him more individual strength on the field without having to  rely on those around him all the time.

After the Mudryk transfer shitshow, an episode of Blue lock is all I need to blow off steam. I thought it was Naruhaya underestimating Isagi but it's the other way around. Isagi is getting a reality check here and he needs to get his shit together because he really should and is better than Naruhaya. Also Nagi's goals... I had to replay them a few times. The definition of elegant.

Lol at the additional time. Tokimitsu should be happy tho. At least Bachira will be nice to him. The other two don't give a shit.

Isagi and Naruhaya are in the same boat as both of their teams have lost their 3x3 rivalry games. King Barou is on Naruhaya's team so it makes sense for Isagi to go after him to get Barou on his team. However, Naruhaya's team is think the same thing to obtain Nagi so its just a matter of who wants it more in the 2x2 matchup. Nagi is getting better and better while Isagi is being left behind and now feels like he's the weakest link in the chain.

This episode was a good showing for this quartet. Barou is still the same as a person but has grown with his range. Naruhaya finally displays his skills in recovery and falling back quickly. Nagi's quick reflexes and ball control allowed him to dominate in the early game. Then there's Isagi and his conflict of being unable to beat anyone in a 1v1 scenario. I loved Naruhaya telling Isagi they weren't worried about him because out of everyone on the field, he posed no threat in a 1v1 ON TOP OF calling him average. Me personally, I wouldn't take that level of disrespect. I can't wait for Isagi to prove ol' buddy wrong.

They pick a player from the other team. They go forward to play 3 v 3, if they win, they pick another player. So its the 4v4 i guess up to a full team. “Wonder” team or something like that. It’s a cool concept 😀

Naruhaya acting cocky against Yoichi. Man really need to break the fourth wall and see the reality. Or, well, that's how you create the story for this episode. Simple and straightforward...

In another case, Nagi solo play is stunning. Barou reaction will be good to see for the next episode...

After their loss, it looks like they're still frustrated, which is understandable.

Its Isagi & Nagi's first ever 2 vs 2 match against Barou & Naruhaya and right from the kickoff its heated, both teams scoring goals left and right, interesting to see how the match will turn out.

Decent episode yet again. The animation gets more sloppier by the episode but I have complained enough because some of the facial animation were really good this time around. Same couldn't be said for the stills and movement sequences.

The self-proclaimed KING Barou lost even though the mf scored 4 freaking goals. The banter between Nagi & Barou is funny. Barou is apparently paired up with Isagi's former teammate and seems oblivious at first but later, we find out he's in the BL mindset as well. He wants Isagi out because he deems him "useless", just like himself. Nagi found his skills during this game and Im expecting Isagi to do the same next episode

The MC is getting on my nerves with his sporadic mindless conclusions every so often but hopefully he gets something fruitful out of all this thinking

Well yeah thats what the other team who beat barou thought too. That said isagi knows barou personally so he thinks he can link up with him better plus his 1v1 power is very needed for this arc

Today this chapter was too good

They show us Nagi and Isagi discouraged by a defeat but they are going to do everything possible to win, and they choose Barou and Naruhaya as their rival and when the match starts the rivals are winning but Nagi finds a way to win a 1v1 against Barou but Isagi is not capable but still he continues to play for Nagi, and they are winning the match but surprise Naruhaya found ways to win the match and becomes selfish

Very good chapter, I love it

From my personal experience I can definitely confirm that you need the quality in winning 1v1 situations. Otherwise you're lacking something really important, especially with the current circumstances of 2v2 or 3v3. I can understand Isagi's frustration at the beginning, but at the same time I'm glad Nagi was able to bring him back his senses. Best bromance so far :D

Naruhaya successfully taunted Isagi in playing him and Barou, who's easily one of the strongest players in Blue Lock. So far the game itself wasn't too intense. I'm pretty sure this is about to change with next weeks episode. Nagi already evolved further a showed 2 absolute dream goals.

I'm hyped for next week. Naruhaya disrespect at the end should hopefully have awakened something in Isagi. It's about time to get to the next level.
