At last, the secret of Master Robe revealed!

Episode was full of emotions and I think episode did a fairly decent job at progressing this mystery arc. What a cliffhanger too. Excited to see how the final few episodes will unfold.

Wow. Ngl maryrose and rose got me with their performances at the beginning of the ep. Hope Emilico and Shaun can break out of that.

No idea how Kate and John can take on a phantom that big every attack just makes it stronger. Can’t wait for next week.

Learning about the shadow fusion process was interesting. I was wondering why we never saw the shadows of the adults. Makes sense. really scary knowing the warden’s just using it as a way to get rid of maryrose.

Holy fuck this scene looked even more disgusting in the anime

Unifying is some scary shit, shadows house is such a terrible place, no wonder why Maryrose wanted to escape, she has feelings after all.

A little mind game at the beginning. Kate is smart but she was too naive and inexperienced, long way to go it seems.

One heck of a few last lessons from Maryrose. Its sad they had to go this far but it is necessary for the future struggles Kate and the others will have to face.
Depending on Kate and the others to take up that mantle and find a way for them to escape or take over before they have their own "cocoon ceremony".

Speaking of, holy cheeseballs that was horrific. Definitely can't let the kids know about that.

On another note, the Thomas guy is giving me Captain Hook vibes XD.

Time for the explanations and it's somewhat understandable but that deceitful emotional trap to catch Shawn and Emilico was a really nasty move :S And that soot distance control is already OP but looks like Maryrose can also use the soot of the other ones to create more and more even though she has a low soot production herself... also that last scene with the cocoon was truly terrifying omg

I really liked this episode. Maryrose turned out to me much more sympathetic than I thought she might be (and we have not even learned her full history vis-a-vis Barbara/Barbie yet). It makes for a fun antagonist.

If I had one quibble with the series thus far, it would probably be the information dump we got towards the end of season one, with Edward reporting to the elder shadows after the debut. (I am anime only at this point, but I looked up the chapter in the manga just to see if it was handled the same there; it was pretty faithful.) I thought it kind of came out of nowhere at the time, and it does kind of take away some of the impact from the big revelations during this season (even if you could predict the major strokes from the context clues, etc.). That being said, it is a pretty minor quibble as the show has still been a pretty wild ride. So many mysteries yet to be solved and I am very curious to see how everything is resolved.

The true identity of Master Rove revealed: Maryrose, and using her living doll Rosemary as a way to avoid the day of being invited to Lord Grandfather's wing for both human and Shadow to become one. From finding kindred spirits to the total disruptoion of the Shadows House, they technically are both Kate and Emilico, if only they have exhausted all of their effort to escape and sustained much ridicule throughout the years.

Rosemary surely trapped both Emilico and Shaun away against their Shadow masters, and both Kate and John are at the cusp of their will if they don't quell her control of the scorches, amidst her lessons which growing step-by-step, increases their power more with their manipulative ways of soot control.

The confrontation between Edward and former warden Thomas, evem the adults have their own power struggles. But as for Edward's fascination on Maryrose, since he has knowledge on the invitation, it would prove useful on their promotion...though the aftereffect, like a butterfly coming out of its coccon, it subjects the Shadow and Living Doll into the Box of Completion and fuses them for 1 to 2 weeks.

That grim cocoon picture is even more scarier than the manga. It's either to be invited or try rebelling.

Maryrose's last lessons for Kate is brutal but they are essential for her. Rosemary's moment with Shaun and Emilico was emotional. I really hope they survive. Also the secret is finally out, shadows merge with humans which can even fail and lead to death, damn.

I know thats not her. but rosemary saying as it was inevitable. she cant delay the invitation. she cant escape. all of this just to spark a revolution for Kate and the rest.

Unless she do something crazy. well thats for the next episode. but as i can see its nearly impossible to save her

Great episode as usual, some iffy moments here and there (the moment before the bridge collapsing) but it's good enough. Finally approaching the climax of the arc.

To you and everyone else asking this: it's a random character, it's nobody we know.

Good thing I came here after watching the episode. Was already getting sad thinking that was Maryrose. Damn, at least give the random character a very different hair color or something. It was really deceiving. Maybe on purpose?

This show is getting better and better, can't believe the score is still under 8.

I like it. It makes me more into Mary Rose, sad, excited, low soot but very strong. Can't wait to see the next episode. I don't want Mary Rose's conclusion to end the way I'm thinking.

If Rosemary has soot powers that allow her to ride scorches, couldn't she have used that to ride down or across the cliff and away from Shadows House? Surely with her powers and her desperation to leave so Maryrose isn't killed, she wouldn't just give up upon seeing the cliff and would try to think of some way to escape anyway: if the kids in Promised Neverland could escape in similar circumstances, surely Rosemary also could even if there was water at the bottom?

Perhaps more to the point, surely in this situation it would be smarter for Kate to offer her assistance to Rosemary and promise not to turn her in rather than fighting her: their goals align almost perfectly (within the context of their respective amounts of knowledge about the House), so all this fighting seems kind of stupid.

Also, damn that cocoon thing was creepy.

Kate NEEDS to find the culprit for the ghost incident or all the blame will be arbitrarily pinned on her by the star bearers in order to please Edward. Maryrose does not want to be turned in, so they fight.

My gripe was that they had to wait until night time for the confrontation. What for? They know where Maryrose's room is lol. Could've just gone there straight, or simply snitched to the star bearers before night time... but then it wouldn't be epic would it? I guess Kate wanted to expose the robed person on the spot.

I don't watch as much anime as before...

Man, the more we learn about Shadows House, the scarier it becomes. Learning about the shadow/living doll fusion and seeing what happens if it fails....that final shot was creepy as hell.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

The shadows are parasites. I've been wondering where they come fom and if the house wasn't some sort of an experiment. Now, I'm thinking alien lifeforms... Venom's cousins.

Maryrose has a few tricks. I thought Kate and John would run to the science house.

Any ideas who the failed pair were and if they were significant? Any chance that was Christopher?

This ep gave me some Neverland vibes, what a freaking good show!
I expected Kate to say something like "help us escape" to Rosemary but she just attacked both Kate and John.
That last scene was freaking heavy!
I just want to know what happened between Maryrose and Barbara, also what happened to Barbie since she went from a cute sweet girl to what we have now.

Word is it’s a Rando, but Christopher was my first thought too, though i got the impression he had been invited some time ago, longer than the “one or two weeks” that Edward mentioned the process takes, so… who knows? 😅

Yes, the time frame is the only question. Who knows is right! lol I am still wondering who was controlling the little soot girl last season that helped them out against Edward. I don't think it was Rum.

Trust me really not the kind of lessons either Kate or John were in mood to carry on with this episode. Though Maryrose's rebel makes sense in a way, as shadows house really isn't some place any living creature should let themselves involved with.
