I was hoping Shide's plan was going to be a little more interesting than just "destroying the world".
U r not alone who thinks that..Manga got low rating only bcoz of the ending story..Anime has high quality animation, soundtracks that overshadow the weak ending story but still people are noticing this weak ending/reveal of Shide..If u want actual mystery with detailed characters watch Higurashi but Animation is not great and story is great.. kinda oposite of Summertime

Shinpei and Ushio gets taken to the realm of the dead, Tokoyo and Shinpei confesses his love for Ushio?! Shide is looking as boss like as ever and Haine just got spawned out of Ushio (lol). They also got air raided by Shide. The atmosphere of this episode is just spectacular too.

Really Looking Forward to the next one!!

Dunno why this episode felt so much slower and boring than the last few episodes or so.

As expected, Shide turned out to be your usual 'I'm gonna destroy the world' kind of villain. Not that it's bad, but I was hoping for a better end game motive.

Even if in fact, shide is going to destroy the world, when you will understand why he wants to do it, you will say to yourself that it is totally logical with the personality of shide.

And you won't see any other end for him with the many circumstances he will evoke to justify himself.

Patience, you still don't know anything about this crazy shide's will.

They're in Hirukos realm now, and Shide playing final boss is summoning air raids! Honestly this episode looked amazing. I'm excited to see how they beat him. It's good to have at least some version of Haine on our side as well!

Just wondering, couldn't Shide find more easy ways to destroy the world and contemplate its climax? I mean he can copy anyone and produce anything...
I was also wondering, if Shide's goal is different from Haine's, then what would he do at the first festival after Haine "eats" the islanders? I mean, he was clearly willing to help Haine pull herself together

Shide was trying to heal hiruko to use the real power of his eye (to allow him to destroy the world).

Except that after meeting shinpei, he understood that he had the 2nd eye which had the same power but not yet awake (we understand later that shinpei has only a copy of the eye and that it is ushio who has the original).

Shide will then try to awake the power of Ushio's (and shinpei's) eye, in case his plan to heal hiruko fails.

but how would he use the power of the eyes after heal Haine? Would she simply allow that or he would take her eyes off by force? 'If' she was with both eyes, she sorta would be invincible, and it was stated they had different goals, so what was his plan for that?

And he still could destroy the world in a lot of different ways with the power he already had, couldn't he?

I should have paid more attention to all the loops that happened, if that is even possible on a weekly watch.

The WWII bombers felt a bit out of place, but it's directly connected to Haine's suffering.
I hope that will be Shide's last trick in his sleeve, his death must happen next episode.

That moment, when they got into Shide's mother world, that was based on that time where world war took place

Tokoyo is based on Haine's memories, it's her own personal little world. It's revealed via implication that an American air raid during World War 2 is what lead to the destruction of most of Haine's body and was a serious setback to Shide, which was explained at the start of Episode 22. In order to kill Ushio and Shinpei so he can take the eye, Shide makes Hiruko relive the bombing which makes it manifest in her inner world, because it's the most destructive thing Haine's experienced. As for Ushio's hair, it's been pretty magical for a while now.

i feel like this is lately the direction it's been going in, and because of that i'm having a hard time following just what the hell is going on week to week. i might have a different opinion after a binge rewatch but it kind of seems to have jumped shark. so like is dude a god or something? how come he can move freely around? it's just dude's shell? how does that work? i'm so fucking lost i'm starting to get frustrated. i hate when creators try to do "2deep4me" shit because it just comes off as pretentious. there's a certain balance to it. idk. i'm frustrated because now it feels just like anything can happen so long as mangaka-kun wills it and then just ad hoc contrives it.

oh good, that's great story writing right there. just constantly dick around with the characters to build false suspense on premises that never existed. face it. this show has gone bad. not as bad as darling in the franxx yet, but who knows at this point. the show has become so absolutely incomprehensible specifically because the creator is just pulling whatever he wants out of his ass. there is a point to "show don't tell", but that doesn't mean to take some post modern deconstructionist angle that makes sense to no one, not even the author. all things either reducio ad infinitum or reducio ad absurdum, or in best cases the reduction to premises.
if i am missing something (i am) then it is the fault of the creator. i you want to make a nice story that makes sense only to you then just write a fucking diary.

It's cool enough that I'm still enjoying, but I'm struggling to make sense of some of these developments and I don't think it's just that I'm missing things. What exactly made the eye evolve? The eyeless Hiruko makes it seem like they stole the other one and that would explain the timing with them "defeating" her, but they've still only got a right eye. We've also apparently got yet another Shide. Which sure, that was always possible once we had two, but it's not very satisfying to throw more in. And if he can do this much remotely why's he been sending human bodies at all? There's the implication that his current power is from the creepy umbilical with Hiruko, but he did smash onto the scene before linking up. Speaking of Hiruko, we've been told she diverged from Haine, but I still don't understand what caused the switch when Ryuunosuke died. And if Haine has been the split off power Ushio got then why did it take all the years since then for her to end up in a shadow? Then there's Tokoyo. So Hiruko could always get there no matter how low her power but just wanted to be healthier first? Okay I guess, but it brings into question why she was hanging out in the human realm at all. I'm also not seeing how the original plan of restore Hiruko was supposed to lead to Shide's now stated aims. Unless he could always do the link and take over her powers thing? And that's putting aside why he wants to destroy the multiverse anyway. Finally... couldn't they have just... not followed him? What was he gonna do from in Tokoyo?

Holy shit just when I thought Shide couldn't be more of a prick, that's how you talk to your mother? What a fucking ass Shide is. The way he treats weakened Haine is so infuriating, more so she's literally a fucking baby. His perversion must end now.

Another banger episode as always, this anime does not disappoint. 2 more episodes and we'll have to say goodbye to Shinpei and his gang.

What a bunch of a mess this show turned into.
The whole thing as Shide being the antagonist is a mistake. He is just an annoying bastard that doesn't die and keep coming..and is a terrible character honestly. His agenda that was revealed today is so generic.
This episode was horrible.

The show lost it's touch in those late episodes, as if the author didn't know how to finish the story so he made a bunch of bullshit out of nowhere. Now Usio suddenly can kick Shide's ass, for some reason she also awakened the eye. So it's really unclear who possesses power and which power. With all those characters having a clone it's hard to keep up where and who came from, who died and from which Timeline.

Probably up to sensei dying the show was great. As soon as the focus went to Shide it all went to shit. It's already near the end so I'll see it to a close, but wow, such a disappointment.

The shadow world is definitely cool, I enjoyed Ryuunosuke and Shinpei bonding while exploring it lol. And it looks like Haine and Hiruko have split into two, and Haine is the sweet cinnamon roll while Hiruko was the bad one, but right now Hiruko is at the mercy of Shide and honestly I don’t mind it after all she did lol. And I definitely didn’t expect a World War 2 air raid by American bombers, that paired with Ushio running up the bombs and fighting Shide was one of the coolest scenes of the entire show imo, really loved that, very nice animation as well.

And it’s revealed what Shide’s plan is, to destroy the world in the same way you’d unplug a console, back with the gaming analogies lol. I’m not sure why he’d want to do that but I’m sure we’ll find out. And now we’re truly in the end game, just 2 little episodes left, can’t wait to see the rest.

Yeah is rare for an anime to get better and better each episode without any downtime/ falling action
Each episode just keep getting better.

Yeah the show kinda fell off for me a bit, The story is set up and written in a way that the author can literally go nuts with asspulls given the fact that this shadow entities are written as "mysterious beings" so the author can just literally hide behind that and not go into accurate detail and explain much of it. Heck I'm still waiting for them to explain how Shinpei got his loop abilities in the first place, in ep1 when he was asleep on the boat. That is huge plot hole if its not explained. I think the villains in the show have overstayed there welcome and are not interesting anymore, Ushio had two chances to end it but she didn't because of plot convenience. But that doesn't take away how decent the first half of the show is.
