| Cute OP song. I've read manga for this and the anime itself is cute as I had pictured. There's shogi themes but the way they nailed Urushi's role for this imo. She and Ayumu has a cute chemistry when the two of them are just together. Ayumu pretty much had the same face this whole episode which made his character quite amusing. |

| The 3rd and final adaptation of Souichirou Yamamoto's big-bulge forehead series of works for this year, is a Shogi rom-com battle of wits and humour. The OP by HanaKana, it sounds nice! Male MC Ayumu Tanaka and female MC Urushi Yaotome, their relationship is a total reverse Takagi-san that's like last season's Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, plus the hinge of Kaguya-sama where the first person to confess, loses. The Shogi Club that has only the 2 people in it, Ayumu is the straight-faced and confident version of Nishikata that knows no tact and tells people the outright facts, that always gets his Senpai everytime when he shows his affection to her, at most times non-intentionally. Also, Urushi's "Happy Three Friends" are a formula that's done like Takagi-san's 3 realted Ashita wa Doyoubi friends, but older. From teaching Shogi to sharing under the same umbrella between Senpai and Kouhai, this is the formula that Souichirou Yamamoto is most famous for, and does it correctly and familiarly. This will be a fun one. Also, since this is directed under Silver Link's in-house director Mirai Minato, it does have that Jahy-sama feel. As for subs under HIDIVE, you'll have to wait an extra day. Subs are out, almost a full day after the TV broadcast. |

| This was nice, the characters not being honest with each other was funny but it's clear they have feelings for each other. Tho question is will their relationship develop or will we get to watch more of this. The part where she was explaining the weakness of the move was nice with how he got closer and closer towards her. |

| Great episode! Ayumu is very straightforward calling Urushi cute xD. But he won't confess until he beats her at shogi even after an offer of a hug and a kiss! The OP is very nice! It seems the kendo club wants Ayumu to join again as he was very good at it in the past and Urushi overhears. Ayumu knows she overheard though lol. It seems that Ayumu isn't happy at getting more club members. And Urushi invited her friend to join... It seems the member about to join found a boyfriend so quit instantly! Ayumu told her too many compliments xD. Seems the invincible castle isn't that invincible after all... Looking forward to the next episode! |

| 3 seasons, and 3 adaptations. Like make one for fall too, so it'll complete the grand slam lol. Also aren't they a bit too forward in this one, though good for a change I guess. Not really anything out of ordinary, but still will go along with this one. |

| Always wanted to read the manga but glad that an anime came out for it. Well, it's another romcom with some added elements so it's atleast entertaining. The opening is very good though. |

| That was pretty wholesome, he basically proposed on the very first episode, a nice touch on that gym class bit with him supporting her and giving her a push to go instead of just avoiding challenges, that's a keeper. It is also rather amusing for me the ending is "50 cm" and Takagi S2 OP was "Zero Centimeter" I guess it takes a whole season to get closer and move out the shogi table out of the way. This one certainty had a stronger first episode than Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi so hopefully by the end I enjoy it just as much more than it. |
| It kinda feels like I missed the first episode considering that it just starts without really introducing the characters. I feel like if I knew how Shogi worked that I'd be able to appreciate this show more. A very wholesome and cute start! Looking forward to the next episode! |

| After Takagi-san in Winter and Tsubaki in Spring, I’m so glad to have another banger show from this mangaka, this was so good. The moments between Ayumu and Urushi are super cute, I really love the direct approach from Ayumu despite his promise to only confess when he beats her, seeing Urushi get stunned by each comment is great lol. And I do like that Shogi is the medium bringing them together, this is like if the Hifumi social link from Persona 5 got a whole anime lol. And I also gotta say, the fact that it’s just the two of them goofing around in a club room kinda reminds me of Nagatoro, which is definitely a plus because I’m a huge fan of Nagatoro lol, but of course the relationship between these two is pretty different. But yeah, this is without a doubt another great entry to the forehead trio this year, I’ve been loving each show and I know I’ll love this one. And that OP and ED were both very nice too, fitting and great songs, loved the visuals too, looks like there’s a lot of fun looking characters, I’m excited to see the other pairing from the looks of it. |
| So another one of the author of Takagi-san. The characters are cute. Urushi-chan is a cheerful girl and it's cute when she's embarrassed. Ayumu-kun is a kuudere like Raidou-kun but he can smile just a bit. And very straightforward with his thoughts. |

| The story is decent and interesting enough for light watching. But the art really I liked. It looks good! Even when the main characters have simple designs. Maybe it's the light violet hair that got me. |

I want to see all the other characters, in YS mangas i always like more the secondary characters than the actual main character. MINA<3 in Takagi, Asagao in Tsubaki... here i think will be Sakurako.... |
| OP is an absolute banger Omg. Love the choreography of the dance routine in it. I think I like the set up of this one the most out of his 3 works. Love how obvious ayumu is to everything lol. |

| I'm a big fan of Takagi-san so I was looking forward to this show and.... I liked it a lot more than I expected. I really like the dynamic between our main characters. Ayumu likes Urushi and is straightforward about it without really confessing, Urushi knows Ayumu likes her and melts with every "attack" xD. Urushi is so adorable <3. I love her voice, it seems like her seiyu is new but she's already won me over. |
| I don't know about this character dynamic, this dead eyed, deep monotone voiced, stoic dude that looks many years her senior, it didn't really do it for me in this first episode. Urushi is adorable though, which is pretty much always the case with this mangaka's cast. Though I have high expectations, being a massive of Takagi-san and Kunoichi Tsubaki. |
