| When Yui said that her friends died one by one, something seemed odd, or at least it did not feel like a string of bad luck for her. Then everyone involved in this was hiding something and then Yui went crazy. Once Black Jack said it was drugs, then it all became clear. Shame the bad guys got away though, but not having perfect endings makes this show very compelling. You can't predict how it will completely end. |

| Less than six minutes in (counting the opening) and we're already served an undramatic painted still... I guess this will be "normal" for the whole series, at least the pre-digital era OAVs. More importantly, the story... Well, the suspense ("why were those girls falling like flies?") was good and everything seemed to be logical and go together fine as soon as the revelation fell. 5/5 @FMmatron Yes, I was ! So they have a name, ahah. (As an 80s watcher, I'm used to them, but mainly for suspended weekly conclusions (DBZ had some very nice ones for example) or to simmer the audience a few seconds for dramatic impact before something big or in the middle of it. The frequency, here, diluted the effect if not more even giving me a smile on a few occasions.) Have a good time with the OAVs ! |

You will see them in anime directed by Dezaki and apparently he was the one who created and popularized it. I also just learned it rather recently. There's still a so much I can learn about animation techniques and everything that belongs to it. Thanks, I surely will enjoy it (this is the best anime for a rainy day tho lol) |
