So much feels in this episode, that scene with everyone backing up Qiang Lei. True comrades. Xin about to step it up now.

Qiang is a freaking monster she took down hundreds of those soldiers by herself. I thought she was dead! She probably used the same technique as when she and Xin teamed up to fight that other Deva in season 1. I'm starting to think she might be stronger than Xin. Also Xin seems to be serious about fighting Lian Po I can't wait to see that go down.

Man I thought that Qiang Lei died after watching that whole scene with everyone standing there. Good that I was wrong about that. Can't wait for the next episode.

I tell ya, season 1 animation may have sucked, but its musical score was so awesome compared to S2. I am glad they chose some those two pieces to highlight two very emotion filled scenes.

The short 1-on-1 figting scene following Xin's talk about 'moving forward' was really well done. The camera angles and panning really brought that fight to life even as they were both on the verge of defeat. Nicely animated.

Perhaps what really hit me the hardest was that feeling of despair shortly after victory. Kingdom really does a great job of thrusting a knife in your gut and giving it an emotional twist...

What a great episode.

Pretty sure she *is* stronger than him, according to canon. In terms of sheer fighting ability or strategic finesse, at least. Xin is probably only "better" than Qiang thanks to his shonen attributes (infinite ability to beat opponents better than himself, overcome impossible odds, and the more believable morale booster).

At this point, though, Qiang is my favorite character.

This episode was paced much better than the last few, I just wish they'd had that fluid sword fight animation and moderate pacing from the start.

I hope next ep we see Meng Ao pulling something crazy on Lian Po, I want to see the jolly old fellow get his revenge.

The animation is way better than usual!
The second part with Qiang Lei have so much feel even though I read the Manga already.
5/5 episode!

Admittedly the animation picked up a bit for this, some of the last episodes were quite average. I was expecting the final part of Shin/Rinko to be a bit lame, but it surprised me. I wish they had shown the true final blow Shin landed on Rinko though, the sword went all the way through him, but other than that, well done!

And Kyoukai is a beast! Don't forget, in the previous war Houken invaded the camp where the Hi Shin unit were thinking that she was Ouki.

Nice to hear some music from last season as a user above said too.

Finally Lun Hun was killed. It seems now Xin may come face to face with Lian Po. I can't imagine he has any chance against him but maybe he can delay him and get some valuable experience by swapping a few hits with him until probably the vice-generals appear to save Xin and Meg Ao's ass.
Wang probably has that mask so he can fool people he is in one place while his on another by making someone wear his mask and the other crazy dude disappeared marvelously so he can appear again at any spot.

Btw in the Qiang Lei vs Xin discussion i am certain she is stronger than him. I believe in one on one Lun Hu wouldn't even manage to hurt her like he hurt Xin. Her techniques and fighting ability are quite a lot better and she's basically a master at her fighting style, it has been shown before. She lacks some war experience she is getting right now and the physical power and size of a man. Xin on the other hand though seems to still has a lot more potential to improve than she does and he has a stronger more inspiring physical presence that makes others follow him.

Now, imagine if they had done as in the manga and made a cliffhanger upon finding Qiang Lei like that. You would've hated the makers.

Qiang Lei vs Xin. Well, Qiang Lei would win in a straight fight since she's a superb fighter, except for maybe prolonged periods against very skilled opponents, whereas Xin gains power the stronger his opponents are and has great potential.

Now, depending on if they make a third season or not,

Probably one of my favorite episodes so far.
Really emotional too, with both Lun Hun and Qiang Lei. Nice to see that the Feixin unit with Qiang Lei developing too.
And it seems like Xin has his eyes set on Meng Ao's headquarters. Wonder if he'll support Meng Ao somehow during Lian Po's attack.

Also, the fight between Lun Hun and Xin didn't have any annoying CGI for once, so that's a plus.

Yea... episode 38 is not that far away. :( From the volume count it seems there would be enough source material, I really hope they decide to continue!

Like you all said, that swordplay was animated splendidly. That really put the feather in the Lun Hu fight's cap, along with the emotional sendoff and Xin's respect. Even though his assassination tactics made me hate him, I'll miss Lun Hu's character and fighting style.

That said, I forgot all about Lun Hu when Qiang Lei's fate was at risk. I legitimately had doubts she'd make it for a second. The direction it was taken was great though, despite the troops wigging out over her tits rather than be concerned for her life. That was a little weird, but Wei Ping being a badass made it okay.

Very focused episode. Like everyone said, the pacing was really good along with the animation, and I thought the music was as well. Maybe the best episode so far.

I was worried for a moment there.. I thought Qiang Lei will die. Glad she is not. And that last fight of Lun Hu and Xin is pretty well animated.. 9 more episodes to go. I hope they will make another season.

Xin: Bullshit! -music stops abruptly-

No CG during the final burst of fighting. Great animation. Wish they stuck with it throughout.

But Qiang won the moment. I thought she died! Thankfully, seems like that isn't the case. The unit accepted her being a woman pretty quickly to my surprise. I thought there would be some ill feelings for a while and she'd have to clear things up, but seems like that isn't the case. Wei is right though, if she's caught and discovered by the enemy, she'll go through hell. :(
But I guess Xin would come to save his vice-captain if that ever happens.

I doubt Xin will defeat Lian Po, but definitely play some key role or be an observer to history being made (like last season).

Phew. That was quite the episode.

That music that played as Lun Hu died has a really touching effect. I remember it playing at the end of the first season during Wang Qi's last scene and that had quite the impact. Even though he's "the enemy", it's still sad to see him go.

Elsewhere, the truth is out. Relieved to see that Qiang is still alive but it was worrying for a moment. She must've gone Musou to have taken all of those soldiers on. Looks like things are coming to a climax!

YESSSSS!!! No cg for the fight.

Im so glad Qiang Lei was alive. She's best girl for Li Xin.

And I dont see how Li Xin will be much help to Meng Ao since both his legs are cut up. The guy can barely stand.

Thank goodness she isnt dead. She absolutely must not die!

And I just realised that I hate japanese spelling of chinese names. Qiang Lei sounds like "kyoukai" or something. Would be so much better if they spelled names in chinese...

Unbelievable episode!!!

Xin and Lun Hu - great fight scenes; both were going all out, but Xin's tenacity won.

Qiang Lei!!! (sobs) I am so happy you survived; if you had died, I would have honestly taken a break from the series. Time to heal and all that.

truly masterpiece episode, the shift between lin hu death to quang li story was done great
little annoyed though by lin hu backstory in the middle of the war.

it was truly frightening thinking that we might lost quang li, she's one of my favourite characters here.

It's only a matter of time before they find out the truth about her anyway but more importantly, did my guy Lun Hu just tell his story to Xin in the middle of their fight? Lol I mean sad backstory sure, doesn't change the fact that he assassinated a bunch of commanders though.
