I thought this episode got tense, especially involving Yuuma.

From a match perspective, it looks like we got quite a bit of strategic planning that's actually goes into action. Gotta respect Chika for her bravery in carrying out her role.

It's cool to see the teams taking all the risks in this match to make it worth watching.

3 of Black team member vs. friend guy, or so I thought. Joined by senpai team who damaged friend guy. He had to hide, so Black vs. Red.

Rotating to get one member of black team. Black ran away and senpai team chasing friend guy. Black aiming gun girl. Chasing and main guy caught up to her. He defeated that member.

Gun guy from senpai team is also aiming at friend guy. Ishida-san's character found main guy.

Ishida-san's character is very strong, he defeated main guy. Gun girl shot the white ones to run away.

Both arrived to wire area. Faraway from wires. Main team trying to get one of senpai team but Ishida-san's character did the finishing blow and got the point. Then another team got Ishida-san's character's legs.

Finale next.
(I think there's only 12 eps. total for this season... (3 eps. x 4 DVD volumes =12 or 2 eps. x 2 BD Volumes = 12: http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/tv/wt/bluray_dvd/, instead of 13 that currently lists. And this cour ends next week)

The battle is still really tense and interesting, I would say my favorite moment was the one with Chika, that's a good strategy and with that end I can't wait to see how the match will end, especially that it's the last episode for this cour!

The strategies by the team were pretty good in this episode. Chika using asteroid to destroy the street and get away was smart. Kuga using grasshopper to fling debris and disorrient the enemy was a clever idea. Even though Mikumu died, he was able to defend Chika and get a kill before doing so.

when Chika used regular bullets for hound I was so hyped, wish she used it directly on him but I guess she still hasn’t opened up to using it on other people

She'll blow upor rather through a building with people inside, but she won't shoot them.

Standards.

Excellent episode. I hope Kuga or Amatori can get 1 more.

Osamu has gone from being relatively useless on the battlefield to having a moderate impact on it. Hopefully he continues his power creep. Chika is also improving at a fairly rapid pace which is great to see. Love how she used Hound this time. Yuma is OP as always hopefully that continues for awhile.

It'll be great to see the team with 4 people in it in the future, can't wait to see the strats!

Wow! What an awesome episode with all these strategies! I was laughing so hard with that hollow block thrown by Yuma using grasshoper. So sad that it will be the last episode next week. Can't wait to see Hyuse to be in the team!

So why dont more teams have 4 people? Because of the points loss?

Harder to coordinate more people + bigger burden on the operator. At least that's the in-story reason, the real reason if I had to guess is the author needs a way to give everyone a bit of spotlight without dragging out the fights too much.

Amazing episode once again. I’m glad these battles are getting such good animation, it really makes me have high hopes for the next ones to come in the next season!

This was a super intense episode. I am happy that this battle wasn't a sweep and that it is a really close contest. Osamu had some nice moves and went out in a believable way. It's nice to have a main character who doesn't do all the work for once. Even though he was defeated first, as usual, he at least had some good moves and made good decisions while in the game which earned his team some points.

Kuga again showed some new moves which really lends weight to his general creativity as a fighter. His rubble grasshopper technique caught his opponent completely by surprise. And Chika as well had a couple of brilliant moves which even in a tight spot didn't diminish her choices as a character.

I have to give credit to the other teams though. They were really fun to watch. The red team more so than the black team. When they were arguing about how the other teammate should deal with Chika since they themselves didn't want to take out a cute girl, that was hilarious. They have great personalities and mesh as a group very well. It is sad that they still don't have a point though.

As of now, it's 2 vs 2 vs 1, and it looks like the red team has the slight advantage, but I hope that Chika and Kuga earn themselves a well deserved victory.

My guess would be if your 4th member is a dud it means its another point your team will lose if they get ko'ed. There's probably other reasons though.

The in-Universe explanation is that a team of 4 is a lot harder for an Operator to manage than 3, so if the operator isn't able to handle it it becomes a problem given all of the shit that they need to handle in order to help the team meaning it could become a hindrance.

This episode was so tense. We finally saw Osomu scored a point. That proved that he had grown so much as a fighter and a strategist. It was so funny to see Kuga threw a brick to another team's face using the grasshopper. The next episode is gonna be lit. We will see a fight between the three main attackers from each team.

Kuga quickly dispatched Kurauchi by bagworm ambush in the chaos while Osamu and Chika got Kashio good by team combo. When Kuga briefly distracted Mizukami by launching a piece of hollow block right smack into his face, I almost fell on my chair laughing my ass off! Then Oji copied Kuga's bagworm ambush as well in the end. I love the changing fortunes of each team during the non-stop action in this episode!

since the beginning of this season, ive felt that the directing is kinda bad, not so bad but i would say that expect more. maybe bc ive read the manga and its very good pacing in each chap, thats why im so excited to see some scenes animated like kuga sneaking kills on this ep which i expected to be kinda 'totally unexpected and surprising' scene of this ep.

gotta say many scenes are actually pretty good tho and i rly enjoy the story, the bad directing is probably due to the fact that its only 12-13 ep (not sure) so its kinda rushed and they overlooked some details in the manga as well.

I feel like Chika is being underutilized by her team. I get that she doesn't want to attack living beings directly with anything that could cause actual damage but there is another thing she could do to potentially score some points and would also go really well the main strategy of their team: setting up trion mines. We've seen them being used before by Reiji Kizaki who is coincidentally also her mentor and she certainly would have the trion supply to pull it off effectively so there is really no reason for her not to use them other than writing convenience for the author to not make the main team "too strong".

Oh, then maybe they'll release them both at the same time for episode 12 and 13 or they'll just air it in a different time slot for the last episode because as you could see it was listed as 13 on AniList..:o>

I informed the anime mod about the possibility of a 13th episode and she will look into it more, though she said it's possible that 13 is a mistake that Anilist made because of Toei's English site. She said that the season's Blu-Rays only have 12 episodes listed. So to be doubly sure, she will check again.

So, the mod is pretty sure that this season will be 12 episodes because of this post:

That says episode 12 will be the final episode. What we think happened is that it was supposed to be 13 originally, but then after the earthquake caused an episode to be delayed a week, it had no choice but to leave off an episode to be released as a special episode or as part of the next season since there wasn't enough time to make room for it in the TV channel's schedule. And Toei's American site hasn't updated that yet and so Anilist hasn't updated that either.

The way Kuga just decapitated him was priceless. Had to rewind and see that again. Ikoma's kogetsu was clean.

Oji was kinda brutal with Osamu. Kinda wish that Chika was standing there with Ibis after Osamu bailed out. Kuga's use of grasshopper never ceases to amaze. If they weren't in these Trion bodies he probably would've died.

Its great to see that Osamu is finding new ways to support his team. rather than just the general power up of his abilities, making him a better fighter or shooter.

Despite his hard work and training. he isn't talented in combat. he excels else where and its great to see that been explored.

Also he is finally getting kills, which is great to see. with the addition of Hyuse it means that each support gets a designated protector and expands their tactics and operation.

Wow Ouji stole that point right in front of Yuma's eye, that was such a sneaky move but fair enough. This match is the 2nd best for sure, only behind Azuma's since that one was just perfect.

That ending as well was great.

Damn it, if only Yuma took that point, it will be harder now.

I love those show.. but dude the way they nerf chika is the most aggravating shit ever. Listen, I know it's necessary or else there would be no suspense when they steam roll everyone but there had to be a better way. When the one team captain was chasing chika and mikumo the way she just ran and left him to lose was ridiculous. She couldn't at the very least fire scorpion lead bullets with her shield up? Even if she was alone and was being attacked, there isn't a single individual that could Crack her full guard fixed shield so her being a 1v1 situation shouldn't even be a threat. The biggest gripe and I'm sure this falls into the category of making the battles super one sideed. That would be using Hound by itself. With her Trion it probably could even break bigger shields. There is 2 ways Hound can be used. The first is visual guidance where the cubes follow line of sight. The second being detection where I homes in or Trion bodies. If the trouble is pulling the trigger with a person on her scope then Hound is literally perfect. While she runs she can literally fire Hound without ever even looking. When chika gets to A rank I can't wait to see what ridiculous triggers tomakoma comes up with.

5/5, Chika and Osamu keep getting closer and closer to upper-B-rank tier and Yuma continues to improve also. Lots of really nice plays. If Chika wasn't a "tag" player, she would have scored point there after Yuma "rock"ed that guys world, but instead Oji-Squad yoinked it. Mr-Always-Facing-Camera... I get the vibe he's pissed.
